JUST IN | Optus will contact customers in coming days to confirm whether or not they need to apply for a replacement driver licence. People in NSW with a digital driver licence will have an interim card number issued instantaneously via the Service NSW app.

@CaraMia200 Banks don't operate that way. Same as banks won't email you with a link in the email to login to your account. If you do happen to come across a bank that genuinely does these things, drop them like a hot potato. They're cowboys. This is outside of any Optus factors.

There was an unexpected development in the Optus data breach saga today, when the online account which claimed to be behind the breach offered up an apology and walked back threats of releasing more customer data or holding Optus to ransom. Love Gladys

New licenses will be issued for free to people in NSW and QLD affected by the Optus breach. In NSW, the $29 replacement charge will still apply, but Optus will then issue reimbursement advice
