    Got caught up in the Optus cyberattack, although it's been a while since I was a customer: last time I paid them money was just over four and a half years ago. Anyone else gone further than that? Just how long is data retained for - and why?

    @BaxterPeterba @VicRoads @BenCarrollMP We have the physical license. Plus other ID. Seriously dude are you being contrary for the sake of it. It's not rocket science. If you have a Vic license and you're an Optus customer caught up in the hack - change it.

    @AlboMP Why didn't you introduce some laws to protect my data and prevent a kindergarten data breach from an incompetent company with an incompetent CEO who are sending emails saying Optus was the victim! WTF? WHO are the victims? They should be fined a billion dollars.

    @littlemykonos Absolutely they should, not just lip service offers either which is exactly what are Optus are doing.

    10am yesterday @Optus told me over the phone that my info wasn’t caught up in the breach. By the end of the day I received an email saying my info has been breached. No way of trusting #optus - haven’t been a customer of theirs since 2018. @SlaterGordon bring on the class action

    @favfavalore My husband got an email from them last night. He has not been an OPTUS customer for at least 14 years!!!! Keeping ppls personal information once they are no longer a customer should not be allowed.

    @VictorDominello Sounds okay (although annoying that you're not just billing Optus yourselves), but the site is down at the moment. I think the team needs to feed the hamster more.

    @franksavaglio I rec'd a text message saying personal details were exposed in #OptusHack also which I use for my business account. I've never received an email from them the entire time I've had the account & I do not recall which email I used. And because of that, I can't close Optus down!

    @SenPaterson @Birmo You are joking aren't you? Taxpayers should not be expected to fund reparations for the mismanagement of Optus. Also this breach would never have occurred had it not being for the incompetence of LNP and @PaulFletcherMP which allowed for this massive Optus failure.

    @SmurfinAus2 I think we can agree that the Optus response has been abysmal. Keeping information from previous customers for so long is an issue. Sounds like data harvesting.
