  • blucat2 David J Ritter (@blucat2) reported

@MarkBaileyMP @TMRQld Optus haven't contacted me via any means. I'm pretty sure my data was compromised because I started getting emails with my full name and address in them. I have never gotten spam like that before. What other data was compromised I don't know.

  • MGRANT65 Malcolm Grant (@MGRANT65) reported

@macsween_prue @Optus Hang on Prue You forgot to blame Albo or Dan

  • malcomtent Malcom Tent (@malcomtent) reported

@Levo__88 @Optus Yeah they don't give a ****. I guess it isn't surprising because if they did care about customers then they wouldn't have leaked the info.

  • Elpinksto El Pinksto (@Elpinksto) reported

@ClareONeilMP rather than making 10200 people try to cancel their passports all at once, why not reissue and bill Optus same with Medicare cards. States could automatically re-issue licences and again, bill Optus.

  • domknight Dom Knight (@domknight) reported

@adamt03 @OptusSport @Optus They provide my mobile service, at least until I leave based on their appalling handling of my personal information - so it’s cheaper

  • talkingcross Salt and Light (@talkingcross) reported

So I got that dreaded email from OPTUS. So should I go forward and cancel my passport? I’m already taking precautions and cancelling my debit cards and getting a new Medicare number.

  • CBadcock Catherine Badcock 🤷‍♀️ (@CBadcock) reported

@TomMcIlroy Ummm, can Optus disclose the names to Service Australia- wouldn’t that be a further breach of the Privacy Act?

  • ChefWalker1965 chefwalker (@ChefWalker1965) reported

@juneslater17 Ironically 9 million Australians have last week had all their private information hacked after an Optus data breach 🙄. People needing new passports, driving’s licences etc now, huge issues.

  • James57498470 James (@James57498470) reported

@RowdyAndTed Oh I'm glad it worked for you! I'm a former customer so I can't login to my account to find what was compromised unfortunately. Medicare support are really good imo. Yeah I don't see any need for the passport might as well save yourself the hassle. Optus should tell us this

  • johnroly Roly (@johnroly) reported

@ssharwood @Optus Having just left a vendor who can fix this exact problem, the issue is that it's really hard to implement across an enterprise. Not many companies want the hassle to secure the data, It may change going forward once the Govt updates the Privacy act.
