Optus Issues Reports Near Germantown, State of Victoria

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Germantown and nearby locations:

  • themediapod Ross Monaghan (@themediapod) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I was getting faster speeds on the Optus cable network 15 years ago. NBN means slower and more expensive service in my area.

  • Nikkiwu8 mammashark23 (@Nikkiwu8) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus Your technician said I wasn’t home. I was home all morning. I did not hear any knock on my door. Not even a call or message to me. And again they rescheduled on 6 May 2019. What a customer service

  • GregRandall1 TheWeed (@GregRandall1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@JohnBirmingham @Telstra @Optus Oh I feel your pain. I had to organise internet with a fixed IP address for my Mum’s home security cams. She kept cancelling her internet account because “I don’t use that rubbish” and setting up new, costly phone accounts that involved cancel fees. #dayslost

  • julianprice_ Julian Price (@julianprice_) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus, help! My nbn isn’t working. I’ve tried the old “off and on again” trick and I can’t see any outages in my area. Can’t get through to technical support “too busy”.

  • TeamBloomart Guy Incognito (@TeamBloomart) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@JohnBirmingham @Telstra @Optus I used to pay my dad's bigpond account (in his name, my cc direct debit deets). When he died I tried to cancel the account. Imagine how that went.

  • KoparaFallsKid Robyn D (@KoparaFallsKid) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Pamelanicholls6 @andrewofoz @JaneCaro @Telstra I do that too, using my phone as a hotspot. But that chews through the data allowance and they (in my case Optus) don't let you have extra phone data because the internet is down. They still charge $10 a Gb for extra usage over the monthly allowance.

  • _prkr Parker (@_prkr) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Turns on data roaming and it connects to optus... settings>data>network> @Telstra 🙏🏻

  • iDineshRoy Dinesh Kumar Roy (@iDineshRoy) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Hello @Optus, I am at Osway St, Broadmeadows VIC. The internet is too slow. It has been slow for a long time.

  • StepmeisterOz Snickers (@StepmeisterOz) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Well after 15 years it’s see ya @Optus & hello @Telstra I can’t believe in 2019 Optus cannot provide a 4G service in Prahran & they don’t have any plans to upgrade that black spot either. It baffles me. Oh well, a complaint to the TIO means I pay nothing to leave. #ByeFelicia

  • mikedoeslife Mike Stevens (@mikedoeslife) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Turns out the fastest way to get service in a Telstra store is to walk in with an Optus bag in your hand

  • teddytranscends Teddy Transcendent (@teddytranscends) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Doing a name change with @Optus is possibly THE most humiliating of all name change experiences. I'm not a different person so please don't treat me as such.

  • elvinaMS elvina sindartha ♕ (@elvinaMS) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus your wifi sucks BIG TIME

  • Stephen02721621 Stephen (@Stephen02721621) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus @HuaweiMobileAU Try connecting me a fkn phone line - 1 month no phone - you guys suck so bad

  • Nikkiwu8 mammashark23 (@Nikkiwu8) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus Your customers service is ridiculous!! I spoken with your staff on phone to book in NBN services on 16 April 2019. End up with no show, I called to find out I been told my appointment not been finalised!! They rescheduled me on 29 May 2019.!!

  • AGhostMachine 𝔾𝕙𝕠𝕤𝕥𝕀𝕟𝕋𝕙𝕖𝕄𝕒𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕖 (@AGhostMachine) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus Yup - bought some extra data and continued to use the Optus 4g to power my household. I will be sending the bill the way of Telstra if they ever try to resolved the issue :(

  • SamShearer7 Sam Shearer (@SamShearer7) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@jewitt12 @pieman_78 Agree, is worth any slight drop in coverage. Online chat has always sorted any issues reasonably quickly as well. Recommend the Fetch box to get Optus Sport on to your box at home, is like $10 extra a month.

  • Nikkiwu8 mammashark23 (@Nikkiwu8) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus I am Optus customer and tried to book discounts HOYTS movie tickets. Website is not working

  • Nikkiwu8 mammashark23 (@Nikkiwu8) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus Optus app service shows service unavailable!! Called to Optus put me on hold transfer me to other departments and call hung up. I want to get my Optus perks work!! This is not acceptable service!!

  • monicasmeow Monicasmeow🐈 (@monicasmeow) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mik_rosser @verbaliza That sort of makes no sense because it’s generally the gaining provider who would be at fault. So if you want to connect with Telco B for NBN it’s on Telco B. If Telco A (Optus) keep billing you that is different issue not necessarily connected to a new connection.

  • mikedoeslife Mike Stevens (@mikedoeslife) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@_Michelangelo__ @Optus Now see, I had TPG a while ago and hated it. Terrible connectivity, terrible customer service, tech didn't show up when I took the day off to be home for him, then wouldn't cancel my account. So, yeah. They all suck.

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • DrSarahJWhite Sarah J White (@DrSarahJWhite) reported

I don’t ever remember being an Optus customer. But I still got an email?!

  • Deanishes Dean Cook (@Deanishes) reported

@Doziam @Optus There are others out there that Aussies are recommending, but I just think I'll go a safe route. And at least this way I also get signal when I'm out camping, which only happens 50% of the time currently.

  • SteveDoggies8 Steve Doggies (@SteveDoggies8) reported

@kbrspace @Optus one of my 3 accounts has just finished its contract and I used your chat to hopefully convert it to a prepaid service. Your guy wanted me to provide my ID docs to complete this,I thought, very easy process. The same ID docs that were stolen this week

  • AgileSteph Stephanie Ireland (@AgileSteph) reported

@Ecanefacepoet @Vladiim @Jeremy_Kirk Have you been a Virgin mobile customer? Because if yes then you have been an Optus customer.

  • Denham0001 Denham (@Denham0001) reported

Het @optus I have not been a customer of yours for almost a decade. Why did you still have my personal info stored at all? #OptusHack

  • vonhelsnuff Pirate CyberKrakenbae Vonhelsnuff (@vonhelsnuff) reported

@ZiptieZoe @Jaihawkins @Jeremy_Kirk Given you authorise Optus to collect that data to share with authorised parties and in theory, this may fall into the definition of an authorised party... I think what it comes down to here is the law doesn't account for human error compounding technical deficiencies.

  • pitdroidtech Max (@pitdroidtech) reported

@AusGovSlave @ClareONeilMP It seems it was a vulnerability in an api combined with testing a new platform, plugged into the Optus data for testing, on an internet connected network. So not quite as simple as a random url. Hackers who know the vulnerability would have been probing likely users of the api.

  • DavidCollinsBIT David Collins 🇦🇺 (@DavidCollinsBIT) reported

If you are genuinely serious about your customers welfare and security, you could offer at least 2 years of credit monitoring service, at your cost, to affected customers like other companies have done in your circomstance! @Optus @OptusNewsRoom #OptusDataBreach #OptusHack #Optus

  • TlWilson17 Tl Wilson (@TlWilson17) reported

@ScammerPayback - can you help with the Aussie Optus hack? Over 11 million appear affected and $1.5 million ransom demanded.

  • ergopropterdoc Kara Allen (@ergopropterdoc) reported

@samr6003 @Optus Absolutely-I'm concerned about people with low digital literacy and less resource to access this help. Really disappointing from @Optus #OptusHack
