I 100% support @MarkDreyfusKCMP' push to limit how long companies can hold onto our data. As an example, wholly owned Optus subsidiary Amaysim still has my account data. Despite leaving over six years ago, I can still log in and there's no easy way to delete it. Not great.

@PeterWMurphy1 We can get their passport numbers on the dark web (thanks to Optus) and cancel them!

@RichardKGrump @WhteRbbnAdvocat Do you think people affected by Optus leak are desperately closing all their Social media? I am fortunately not affected but would be in flat panic & wld certainly cancel them.

@Optus - As a former business customer who no longer works for my old employer, I am trying to find out if my licence has leaked. As you can only send an MFA code to my old work email, that I can no longer access, I am now forced to go into store to change the email addess. Why??

@Jeremy_Kirk Optus should be able to determine what IP addresses pumped the DB, if they even had logging turned on, but we'll never get the full picture, given the lack of transparency. #OptusDataCockUp not an #optushack

@Scamwatch_gov @OAICgov The focus of these remedial steps is all wrong. Govt and Optus should be notifying banks and super funds rather than having 9 million Australians clogging up the system and trying to do it themselves. This is massive, expecting each individual impacted to fix it won’t work.

@kateju9 @virgotweet It now is coming out that DoDo customers are at risk due to it's association with Optus and have been hacked too, but the media is very slow catching up on all this.

@Christi05571146 I’ve never been an optus customer and got an email. We have however used coles prepaid for the kids phones. (Which uses the optus infrastructure)

I’m currently travelling overseas and an Optus customer. Apart from the daily texts reminding me that I’m getting charged for roaming, I haven’t heard anything about the hack & whether my details were compromised. Pretty poor effort. Hoping I might be one of the lucky ones 🤞🏼
