@karenandrewsmp you say regarding @optus that "The Labor government needs to step up and do something, not just talk about these issues," Can you please explain why your government failed to do anything over nine years? Did you just talk about these issues?

Well other than a few sms from #Optus reminding me to pay my bill they havent contacted me about the #data breach. Their handling of the incident is atrocious

I haven't recieved any notification from Optus about my data but 5 robots called me about my (non existent) solar panel installation today and I've been signed up to two online yoga programs I've never heard of. So... I'm going with my data was taken.

@DanielAndrewsMP Can you change the @Vicroads requirement for getting a new licence number? Why do I need to be a victim of identity theft before getting help? It'd help all affected by @Optus really dropping the ball.

How about Optus pay their fine money directly into those customer’s bank accounts? Then, let customers know that the CEO’s on multi million bucks a year, have decided to reduce their salaries by at least one million, then pass that over to the people affected. #Optus

@pitdroidtech @Optus The breach sucks. But Optus shouldn't have been forced to capture and retain that data in the first place. ****** legislation both major parties voted for.

@SEggminder @Optus Probably the small cogs in the chain on the phone not getting all the info from the bosses. Doesn't help situation.

The Optus data hack is hopefully a game changer in this country. Not only for the way they left the door wide open, but for unnecessary retention of past customer data. Pretty sure that’s a breach of the Privacy Act.

@CrankyGrandma55 @joshgnosis I was an Optus customer for years. They’ve always been this bad. Ditched them for a tassie owned and run broadband company and never looked back.
