@DeclanMila The issue in Aust was a hack of a telecommunications company Optus which downloaded private information of millions of customers & c. 10,000 people's details were leaked online. Optus needs to improve security. Also, companies shouldn't be storing personal data in the first place

  • rodcubkoguma ロッド · カブ ● 小熊 🏳️‍🌈 (6xC19 💉) (@rodcubkoguma) reported

@danielbowen My email from them went to the Google spam folder. Check it out. Also download the My Optus app and chat to them via it, using the login you had with them

  • cuttlevawn Flamboyant Cuttlevawn (@cuttlevawn) reported

I no longer live in Aus, but I was an Optus customer so I signed up for the initial 21 day ban then extended it to 12 months.

  • wildgem23 🌏 💫 Karen Orridge 🌻🇺🇦 (@wildgem23) reported

@mariewalsh18 I am a current Optus customer of many years and have heard nothing from them.. does this mean that besides the usual vigilance I’m in the clear? To me this is a warning that it could happen anywhere…

  • boards_john John Boards 🏌️ 😷 💉x4 (@boards_john) reported

@peggymel2001 The **** storm has only just started. So is Optus going to compensate people for the extra work involved in a persons time fixing up new ID? States will pay for new D Lic, but folks have to pay 1st and then put in a claim. FFS 🤦 I hope many Optus customers vote with their feet.

  • Megsymu Megan Stubbs (@Megsymu) reported

@VictorDominello Just plain old “human errors”!!! Optus has already lost the trust of its customers. You would think it would be going above and beyond to do whatever to make this process as less stressful for all its customers as possible! A “re-imbursement scheme” is nightmare in the making !!

  • Gingobibble Gingobibble (@Gingobibble) reported

@ChalkerPhillip Not in the breach... but the handling of the crisis is from the LNP playbook. Deny. Gaslight (not our error, we were hacked by super skilled hacker). Re-direct - no optus passwords were taken. Announcements that mean nothing. Poor communication to its people & Then silence.

  • theDataStudent Bharath Sivakumar (@theDataStudent) reported

@NEUROMASTER9 That just shows that Optus has really **** data retention policies, not that Optus staff actively engaged in leaking the data.

  • S370HSSVO773H 💪🏻👔🤳🏻 (@S370HSSVO773H) reported

@10NewsFirst Want a scoop involving Optus. @BleepinComputer has layed it all out for you. The hackers have apologised to Optus customer and discontinued the ransom demand. Hurry. Be the first. YW

@EKnightOfficial “Surprise at @Optus data breach because it is a rechnology company”.. I’m in no way surprised because of have been a customer for years. Their “customer service” is appalling, even this week I spent an hour on the phone with one of their subcontinent “staff”…
