Gee @VodafoneAU still can’t use my phone in at MIldura Centro. Phone shows SOS only while both Optus and Telstra have FULL signal in the shopping centre.

Not piloted, actually

@MoarToast Sorry, drivers licence. It will have a licence number and a card number that the DVS uses to "validate" it as an identity document. Because "only" your licence number was exposed, Optus isn't going to recommend (or pay for) a new licence. Bare minimum support from Optus as usual.

@ToshGreenslade Dear Tosh, I tweet this from a Spanish prison. I beseech you to help recover a large sum of money from my portmanteau, which contains a secret pocket. As compensation I will give up to you a third of the sum, viz, 25,000 bitcoin. Please DM me your BSB number and Optus password.

Hey @Optus you send me an SMS saying my drivers licence number was exposed in your negligence yet I am the one who now has to arrange my new ID? Seriously **** you. No one has time for this bullshit!

@ClareONeilMP As an ex Optus customer how will I know. Does Optus have my new email address? How will they contact me? Can I respectfully ask the hacker to pass my new email on to Optus management so I can get some advice. 🙄

@randlight Optus main problem is not that it retained ID documents, most big businesss do, but the fact they didn't keep this information secure. Can't understand why this information needs to be retained after a person's ID has been confirmed. I think the govt is going to do something.

@CopperbeardTom It’s the laptop with the slow site resolution? But yes, Optus can do a heap of analysis from their end if you get the right person on the call…

As a former Optus customer caught up in the breach, I'm incredibly frustrated. No information from them, the usual bromides. I've done what I can do but government IDs aren't simple or quick to change. Govt seems to be ignoring that #OptusHack

@CopperbeardTom That sucks man. I swapped to optical a couple of months ago after years of inner west pain (old infrastructure), and it’s been great, but doesn’t help you. Hope Optus can sort it out.
