@SydneySwitch I can't change that, Optus are in charge of their infrastructure arrangements, not me! The test just tells me Optus are using a Telstra server in the provision of their service to me.

Another day, another #nbn outage courtesy of @Optus . If #nbn was a legitimate business it would be investigated by the @acccgovau for its complete mishandling of the entire infrastructure and customers.

@Optus Hi Nard, thanks for the reply. Funny you advise no outages but I was engaging with someone on message/chat who advised there are in fact drop outs in my area. Issue still occurring and will call this morning. Thanks for your help

@Optus criminally overcharge for a service you can get, at a fraction of the price elsewhere. Will forever warn people against Optus.

@Red_and_Blue26 You might live to rue going to Optus. They have not purchased adequate broadband & the NBN highlights that. 10 weeks with no solution - hello Telstra, bye bye Optus. Not one second of regret, we have not dropped out once in over 3 months with T.

@CunningInsights Optus should not have retained identification data. Once a new customer is identified, the data used for identification should be purged. Even if it needed to be retained, it should have been encrypted.

Related to Optus fiasco, compromised credential monitoring built into iOS and Google is really useful and worth considering. For me it picked up data leaks in just the past month from a streaming service and a former employer and gave an early warning to fix it.

Jobsen Groth 🇦🇺

@SkyNewsAust Never understood why anyone would sign up for Optus. The company is owned by Singtel (Singapore government does spy and monitor its own telecommunications), it uses Huawei technology, and their marketing campaigns have implied customers are animals. eg. Optus Zoo.

@giovannii84 @swillsm @JarrodWhittaker And at the very least, issue billing credit equiv. to # of yrs as customer as compensation for all the anxiety caused. Optus cannot wash its hands saying, 'Oh, sorry. Letting you know your personal info (stored by us in our servers) has been compromised, is all we will do.'
-
Fred O’Frog

@MattRob88518961 @Optus Exactly Matty, there are so many potential issues but Optus would not know how to contact me now because I’m no longer a customer. Thank God. BTW An IT guru I know reckons the hack was so simple that Optus should be criminally investigated for negligence too…

Asked whether Optus should face new laws to punish cyber offences with fines in the tens of millions, Bayer Rosmarin said: "I'm not sure that penalties benefit anybody." They sure as **** liked them when I was with them. #optusisshit
