Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Pakenham East and nearby locations:

  • PetraElliott Time Traveller then/now (@PetraElliott) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@davenlamb Yep. Same wording. Granted i haven’t been a customer of optus in just shy of 20 years. So I wouldn’t be on a current mailing list. But my date of birth and phone number hasn’t changed in that time and I obviously can’t change/get a new DOB. It’s just super poor form overall

  • danielbowen Daniel Bowen (@danielbowen) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

I was an Optus broadband customer until 2019. No contact from them yet. Wondering if I’m safe or not.

  • karan_white_ Karan White 🌱 (@karan_white_) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I'm an @Optus customer, but not for much longer. Haven't had any additional comms beyond the initial email.

  • tmwwthere Andrew Watson (@tmwwthere) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

10am yesterday @Optus told me over the phone that my info wasn’t caught up in the breach. By the end of the day I received an email saying my info has been breached. No way of trusting #optus - haven’t been a customer of theirs since 2018. @SlaterGordon bring on the class action

  • kelseyvh @kelseyvh (@kelseyvh) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Hey @Optus I’m having nbn service issues. Your online messaging service is not responding. You network status page says “under investigation” and has said that for three days. I’ve sent you a DM but no response there either.

  • sbmcd Stephen McDonald (@sbmcd) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus #OptusDataBreach so my partner who was a customer with you in 2016 has been notified about the data breach, but I was a customer up to a year ago and still can’t find out if my data has been compromised.

  • rocky1622 Brian Humphries (@rocky1622) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@lynlinking @WgarNews L am glad not Optus customer

  • Stanleysmum1 Stanleysmum (Sharon) (@Stanleysmum1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@somewherein84 Or insta! I saw a woman yesterday who blamed Dan for Penny Wong requesting Optus pay for the replacement passports etc 🤯I shouldn't have lowered myself to her level but I couldn't help myself

  • casimugh crandle (@casimugh) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Optus data hack reeks of a nerdy 14 year old that’s been banned from the PS4 so had to find entertainment elsewhere and accidentally got in trouble with his parents/the AFP

  • Troiboi troiboi 🤨 (@Troiboi) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@sezzoooooooooo lol no. But just don’t be overwhelmed by what’s going on. It’s going to be an annoyance more than anything. However this Optus issue will put everyone on alert. Which will be a good thing.

  • mikjcal Mick (@mikjcal) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@nicenuts @Itsrustyruss @Optus I can just imagine Deborah and Alan Boomer going in there and losing their **** at the poor staff who had zero to do with it. I feel sorry for the workers in retail. Retail is already a **** job, then you have this on top of it.

  • nick_komo Niko (@nick_komo) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@MrXBob @Matt92644813 @9NewsMelb Hmm i would of thought CEOs on the big bucks had some influence into important decisions. Anyway you are getting a bit too aggressive for a non optus customer. So move on 🙋 #OptusHack

  • scousehelen Scouse Helen(Helen Drinoczky) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (@scousehelen) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus The saga goes on. A 4+ hours wait up to now on the app and still no nearer to getting my question answered. 24/7 help advertised but no mention of how long the wait is!

  • rebeccajpowell Rebecca Powell (@rebeccajpowell) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

It's taken 2 weeks for #Optus to inform me that my driver's licence data has been compromised. 2 weeks 🤬 Ridiculous that it should take so long & that I'm the one going to the hassle of addressing the issue. Of course they'll have no delay in sending out my bill 😒

  • methylnick Nick Wong AU/MEL (@methylnick) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

    @AntoBeck @Optus Damn. I did not get this. 😭

  • raymond3020 Adam Gemmell (@raymond3020) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus I received your email saying my license and passport was given as part of your breach. No further comms. Your website says I should have received a sms that was sent to all that has had their ID docs leaked. Silence! Been an Optus customer for 17 years. Not much longer

  • Scruff_Edges Scruff_Around_the_Edges (@Scruff_Edges) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Wtf is a try guy and no I won't google it, I don't wanna be embarrassed in front of the Optus Hacker.

  • morrisd3_dm Morabeets 🇺🇦 (@morrisd3_dm) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@DarkMatterzine @joshgnosis Even if the documents were necessary they should never have been placed in an insecure situation. If the API's access was exhaustive Optus was stuffed from the get go.

  • 2020digging Bo Reidler (@2020digging) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@abcnews Patterson reckons companies make errors? This is unadulterated negligence. @Optus has failed in their *legal* responsibility to keep their customers’ data safe. APP11. Penny pinching on security while dishing it out for incompetent executives is a recipe for disaster.

  • justinjonesblog Justin Jones (@justinjonesblog) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

It’s the “Dear Justin” to “Dear Customer” for me. This really looks like a suss email that is doing Optus zero favours. #OptusHack #OptusDataBreach #Optus

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • gitoutavet Komnenian (@gitoutavet) reported

@InsidersABC @PatsKarvelas #ABC management and "journos" treat their audience with the same contempt #Optus do with their customers.

  • LindaBr40292791 Linda Brown (@LindaBr40292791) reported

Well after a fukking hour trying to register for the free optus Equifax, I’m timed out and I can’t scan documents anyway! Now I’m really pissed at Optus, they caused this and now I can’t fix it!🤬🤬🤬

  • ClareONeilMP Clare O'Neil MP (@ClareONeilMP) reported

If you are one of those 10,200 people, we advise you should immediately cancel relevant ID cards, your passport and do whatever else is needed to ensure that you are getting new identity documents based on the email from Optus.

  • notrosethorne Peter Rawsthorne (@notrosethorne) reported

@trevorlong @margokingston1 @Optus I'm a current optus customer. Hadn't heard anything. Went on the online chat. Took 2 hours to respond and tell me my data wasn't exposed. Don't know if I believe them.

  • JR_Smtith JR-Smith (@JR_Smtith) reported

@SkyNewsAust And there is no real penalty negligence of handling private data. All the time and efforts individuals need to do is out of their pockets, for public service it’s the tax payer. What about making Optus accountable for the f#up and let them pay. That’s when you hire cheap IT staff

  • vpharez Vpharez (@vpharez) reported

@pek1098 @SkyNewsAust Selling Optus customer data to her mates at the IPA

  • AbstractCode colin.traverse_ (@AbstractCode) reported

@GordyPls Former employer who was doing stuff for Optus brought me along a bit to things for no damn reason. I knew absolutely nothing about what they were doing and contributed nothing. So my anecdotal experience is at least 50% of the consultants are clueless and making up the numbers.

  • gark84 Geelpe (@gark84) reported

@ClareONeilMP As an ex Optus customer how will I know. Does Optus have my new email address? How will they contact me? Can I respectfully ask the hacker to pass my new email on to Optus management so I can get some advice. 🙄

  • LINDAINLIGHT LINDA SMITH (@LINDAINLIGHT) reported

@kazza264 @SquizzSTK I know it's bad scene. You can go into Optus to check if your account has been compromised. It's quick.

  • Elaine39247821 there is no nirvana (@Elaine39247821) reported

@JoshButler Looks like Optus don't have coherent, organised systems. As a former customer, no contact yet
