The infamous individual announced 10,000 Australians would have their data shared every day for the next four days if Optus does not pay. "If you care about customer you will pay! Revenue 9B$ dollar, 1M$US small price to pay!" the hacker wrote online.

@Aussidreamin @Betelgeuse591 Yes, But for memory Human Services including the NDIS was Hacked Much more information than Optus would hold. I have never heard of a phone company asking for your Passport number, just Licence number

  • JoeySwoops BDESwoops (@JoeySwoops) reported

@Optus @RunnerSA18 It’s been 4 days since the attack and I’ve had nothing but no caller id’s hassle my phone. THEN I’m hearing of the hacker willing to release 10,000 peoples data per day! This is the worst service

  • J_PaceYourself James Pace (@J_PaceYourself) reported

I'm surprised this hacker could connect to the optus network when my phone can barely ******* do it #OptusHack

@9NewsAUS The hacker must be arrested; charged, tried, convicted, and sentenced never to be released. Optus must be expunged never to reappear.

@Optus @IsaacsonMarie Will you be contacting PAST customers from the relevant time period? I am no longer an Optus customer, but was one during the relevant period.

  • hallstrong1 DrHallstrong-Port Hughes, Tipping & Horse Racing🏇 (@hallstrong1) reported

@RobertCawood2 @BeachGirlJan They'll be a lot of Optus users with a bad credit rating soon & they'll be clueless as a too why?> Meanwhile the recipients of the Optus customers records will be making a fortune from using the said details to set up fraudulent loans etc etc.

  • dmccann65 ich bin RAT seeking (@dmccann65) reported

@RonniSalt @Optus 1/2 Yes! They have made an artform of mishandling every situation that has impacted their customer base. No proactive measures to inform customers and reassure them, no attempt to compensate or value add to impacted customers. This has led to a confidence slump and exodus.

Interesting that the Aus Govt requires #Optus to obtain and retain this incredibly sensitive data, but didn’t require it to be encrypted & secured beyond something human error could affect? This isn’t just an Optus problem. Govt is also culpable & trying very hard to hide that.
