@Optus I received your email saying my license and passport was given as part of your breach. No further comms. Your website says I should have received a sms that was sent to all that has had their ID docs leaked. Silence! Been an Optus customer for 17 years. Not much longer

Hands down the least patriotic moment this games week has been explaining the Optus hack to @WritNelson, while simultaneously, the most patriotic experience being teaching him the nut bush

@DarkMatterzine @joshgnosis Even if the documents were necessary they should never have been placed in an insecure situation. If the API's access was exhaustive Optus was stuffed from the get go.

Hey @Optus I’m having nbn service issues. Your online messaging service is not responding. You network status page says “under investigation” and has said that for three days. I’ve sent you a DM but no response there either.

@Optus You’ve had numerous DM’s from me. And phone calls and live chats. A case manager is assigned. This is a bigger issue tho. And you guys need to recognise this.

It's taken 2 weeks for #Optus to inform me that my driver's licence data has been compromised. 2 weeks 🤬 Ridiculous that it should take so long & that I'm the one going to the hassle of addressing the issue. Of course they'll have no delay in sending out my bill 😒

@davenlamb Yep. Same wording. Granted i haven’t been a customer of optus in just shy of 20 years. So I wouldn’t be on a current mailing list. But my date of birth and phone number hasn’t changed in that time and I obviously can’t change/get a new DOB. It’s just super poor form overall

@sezzoooooooooo lol no. But just don’t be overwhelmed by what’s going on. It’s going to be an annoyance more than anything. However this Optus issue will put everyone on alert. Which will be a good thing.

Just notified by @Optus that my drivers license details have been stolen. I live in Vic so it will cost me nothing but I note the poor buggers in NSW will have to pay $29. Then try to get a refund out of Optus. They were slack with security so making people pay upfront 🤬

It’s truly salt in the wounds that I’m not even a customer of Optus anymore and I’m still affected by that shitful company. P.S. If anyone had trouble logging a new license request via the VicRoads website earlier today, it’s now up and running again

The thing I keep coming back to with the #OptusHack is that this was customer data. I could give a fig if @Optus got hacked and their data got took - but customers trusted them with their personal data. Optus really should take every precaution to keep that data safe. 🫳🏻🎤

@Optus your customer service is a joke. Been trying to cancel a contract for 2 1/2 hours and counting, 1hr of questions to be our through to cancellation team and nobody has picked up the chat yet, been waiting 1 1/2 hours so far
-
Peter Gillanders
(@PeterGillanders) reported
@Telstra So, information about Telstra staff (and former staff going back how far?) was held by a third party in such a way that Telstra was not responsible for security or lack thereof. Not as bad as the Optus situation (from the customer perspective) granted, but not ideal.
-

Some questions from a long-term Optus customer: 1. Does Optus have a risk register that is reviewed by the Board 2. If yes, how often? 3. If yes, is loss of customer data an identified operational risk? 4. If yes, are controls periodically and rigorously tested?
-
PRGuy with a Blind Trust & Watermark

@xskinn Why would you give out private data that Optus went to all that trouble to hide, to no effect? A birthdate is usually one of the first bits of data requested and that you can't change. Why help the scammers?
-
Izmit Crumble

@aussiesoph @Optus If they did, they never notified me. Like I said, I doubt they're much better. Or maybe they did and I blew it off assuming they were scammers

@DrShaneRRR @spiritgateoz @Optus and had no phone for the entire time, inconsistent and contradictory advice, unwillingness to fix it/cancel it. Until finally by chance rather than design I spoke to manager that solved it in a day. Ridiculous.
