Optus hacker says they've release 10k identities. I read Optus was contacting those most at risk, first. I was contact last Friday. Many were notified on Saturday. I never notified Optus when I changed my name in 2018 so I'm hoping my identity can't be used 🤞.

@couriermail How stupid are Optus? They left the front door open and all the data just sitting there! And they employed Berejiklien, when ICAC still haven’t finished with her. A class action might make them realise how much this will cost!

On the Optus date breach fines. If the breach is shown to be the result of poor security protocols, then yes, fines and potential criminal charges. At the least they should be liable to pay fair compensation to anyone impacted by the breach.

What's worse than the data breach that Optus caused is the poor performance & reaction from the Optus leadership & support staff (app, phone and in-store) following the incident. Can't believe this is the 2nd biggest telecom company in the country! #optus #OptusHack #optusfail
