Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Tahmoor and nearby locations:

  • KalinaPaul PK (@KalinaPaul) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus - could you please provide me with an Australian number to lodge a complaint with my mobile phone billing. I’ve been patient for 3 months dealing with many call centres around the world but still no resolution!

  • theogoh Theo Legowo (@theogoh) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@optus please comment, my colleague next to me is having exactly the same issue, but told to go to an Optus store to sort it out. I’m worried now because I’m porting a number to you.

  • davewhittle Dave Whittle (@davewhittle) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Dear: @Telstra the customer service in your George St, Sydney store on Wednesday was terrible. I'm switching after 20+ years to @Optus ❌❌❌❌❌

  • markc Mark Cohen (@markc) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Looks like @optus account login is down - wonder if they use AWS in Sydney too or if it’s coincidence

  • lyng62 Lyn (@lyng62) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Toddy2102 @Optus @NBN_Australia Thats Correct. I rang Optus while the tech was still here and said - do not switch anything over until we discuss the issue of the NBN modem and router being DOWNSTAIRS now when my cable connection comes straight into my office which is UPSTAIRS.

  • corduroy Josh Mckinnon (@corduroy) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@haruki_zaemon @Aussie_BB I use Internode (only makes sense if you already have home broadband) and Optus. Their network is not noticeably worse, and sometimes better, than Telstra.

  • RozaGermian Roza Germian (@RozaGermian) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus please let your customer know what on earth is going with your internet outage. Contrary to what your website tells people, you’re keeping customers in the dark, not “in the loop”!!!

  • DigitalMediaBoy Carrington Brigham (@DigitalMediaBoy) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Don’t go with @Optus for NBN it takes them 30+ days just to relocate you in the same building. Isn’t that awesome service. Think it’s a case of them being too big too care about their consumers these days.

  • darthted Ted Tencza (@darthted) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

So @Optus has replied to me, to let me know that "some offers are available to new and re-contract customers only," totally missing the point of my original complaint.

  • buyersagentssyd Paul Mulligan (@buyersagentssyd) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Shame on @Telstra if you think @Optus is difficult to deal with don’t go to @Telstra. No customer service & an oversees call centre were they can hardly speak English! Try @vodaf

  • amawidarmana ama widarmana (@amawidarmana) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

$65 per month, yet I only get 20 days per month of internet.. @Optus , and now I the problem occurs again, no internet connection at all. Postcode 2132

  • joekiely Joe Kiely (@joekiely) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@igriscti @Telstra @Optus Obliviously they haven’t a clue! Being @Telstra they probably made the engineer, who could figure it out and fix it, redundant

  • bcg1976 Not for you (@bcg1976) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Spoonyman @tasmaniatalks it works by using any tower. Not just telstra, optus, vodaphone, etc. That's how it improves service for emergency locally. Mainly it's just a work-in-any-country solution as it's a part of the cell phone spec irrespective of provider/country.

  • murdochsj Scott Murdoch (@murdochsj) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus @australia2 Good luck mate. Seriously the worst customer service company in Australia esp issues around nbn

  • lyng62 Lyn (@lyng62) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Toddy2102 @Optus @NBN_Australia I get well over 90 down speed at the moment and I need it for work.

  • gregmw34_greg Greg Williamson (@gregmw34_greg) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus what is the problem with the cable internet in area 2122

  • montyhamilton Monty Hamilton (@montyhamilton) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@speedmeades @Robbo_heraldsun @Telstra @Optus Yes, I'm one of the founders... The product design and customer service is effortless...

  • BluesFan7071 Simon Benson (@BluesFan7071) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Great @Optus that we can see a graph breaking down data usage but not so great that last point on graph Tue 29 Jan. Not helpful if graph doesn’t update more frequently!!!!

  • manaz_d Robert Hudson (@manaz_d) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@AUSFestivus My date is April 2019, apparently. We get HFC. The Optus HFC service here was so bad I called the TIO in about repeated lies and poor performance, and they ordered Optus to let me out of contract with no penalties. Telstra HFC has been great though, other than tiny upstream.

  • matseinarsen Mats Stafseng Einarsen (@matseinarsen) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Add to it that the telcos (Optus...) are also stale and old with old school customer service 😬

  • hacktivism_tm Hacktivism (@hacktivism_tm) reported

@Optus Optus you PIECE OF S*** you put many customers at risk of getting their banking frauded cause you kept so much sensitive data on system. Yet you have no compensated customers or taken action with anything? Worse company ever. I’m sure alot of people will never use u again!

  • 1972bja 🇭🇲Denny Crane (@1972bja) reported

@joshgnosis Have optus notified all customers effected or is it up to the customer to just assume they are?

  • SPlymptonele Sceptic Plymptonele (@SPlymptonele) reported

@joshgnosis @samanthamaiden Optus, login, profile does not show mobile number even though they sent a code for me to login.??

  • JohnRDrayton John Drayton (@JohnRDrayton) reported

@L3ftyJohn @THE_Russell @Optus Second biggest telco in Aus would be constantly under scrutiny by hackers and other bad actors. The endpoint has been available for quite some time and would have been regularly probed by hackers

  • shaboogen shaboogen (@shaboogen) reported

The idea that the LNP is trying to attack Labor over not doing enough about the Optus cyber attack is pretty rich given that it was their draconian data security crap that required Optus to keep passport numbers for this long. Don't let them get away with this **** #auspol

  • R3iGns42 Harley (@R3iGns42) reported

Optus needs to let us cancel our contract with them with no fees. This is beyond a joke and no one wants to be with them and they expect us to pay full price to leave. After all this.

  • hermit30561 hermit3056🇺🇦🇦🇺 (@hermit30561) reported

@ClareONeilMP Optus said it will only provide credit monitoring for those "most affected". Can you please chase this down. Anyone with a compromised ID should get it from optus. Sounds like weasel words. They're trying to do as little as possible.#OptusDataBreach

  • hermit30561 hermit3056🇺🇦🇦🇺 (@hermit30561) reported

@JarOfSteve No, most companies don't leave customer data open on the internet without needing user authentication. This is a major f#$&up by Optus.

  • JohnRDrayton John Drayton (@JohnRDrayton) reported

@Tweedlebeetle @kcarruthers @Optus The breach itself is amateur hour. This is multiple levels of failure & smells of v poor corporate culture regarding IT risk. At my current employ I can think of half a dozen mandatory checks that would have meant this breech would not see the light of day.

  • VS_ Saso Virag (@VS_) reported

@WebDevLaw We seem to be edging ahead in that race, courtesy of the recent Optus data breach. In addition to shoddy legislation, we also have suspected poor enforcement. Yay us!
