  • troydodds Troy Dodds (@troydodds) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Another day, another @VodafoneAU outage (ongoing for 6+ months now). If you live in Penrith, don't touch Vodafone or @Optus (the primary network). You'd be better off with a carrier pigeon.

  • Sterg_G13 Sterg13 (@Sterg_G13) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Does Optus Sport streaming look crap for EPL?

  • MimiBlueMtns Margaret Williams (@MimiBlueMtns) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Who else has problems receiving netcodes via SMS due to little or no mobile coverage in your area? Frustrating. #Optus #BlueMountains

  • GT_AUS Graeme T (he/him)💉x 4 🇦🇺 (@GT_AUS) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@strangerous10 We'll get a good line of sight of the Optus CEO's principles and governance beliefs if and/or when ICAC delivers a corrupt finding. If that happens, and Glaaaaad is retained.... Black ban Optus.👎😡 Mind Optus has never given a 💩 about customers from my experience.

  • vicrollison Dr Queen Victoria 💧🐀 (@vicrollison) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@_annamurdoch @jessica_wilson Technically the plans are two parts - people agree to pay off a phone interest free over 12/24/36 months - which is separate to the phone plan part, that you can change up/down as you like, and Optus can also change with 30 days notice. Repayments don't change, just plan

  • Rebeccagillmor4 Rebecca gillmore (@Rebeccagillmor4) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Not sure whats happening or the phone Tower work in my area but I have been having some problems my 5g has been out for hour or less for 4 nights now... #optus

  • vicrollison Dr Queen Victoria 💧🐀 (@vicrollison) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Tiger2047 @SulloAU @Optus The 'contract' says they can make changes with at least 30 days notice - and that you can cancel at anytime - that's what you agreed to. You can't find yourself locked into paying $49 one month and $89 the next - you can leave at any time

  • IaenCordell Iaen Cordell (@IaenCordell) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Well Optus does have a 3G outage, maybe they should update the web-site.

  • hugobrown Hugo | Colours Bring Smiles | 🇳🇿 🇦🇺 | 🇺🇦🌻 (@hugobrown) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Again another week of maintenance interruptions in the Oatley area. Like honestly how bad can these workers\contractors be @Optus they didn't finish the work 2-3x of week long maintenance interruptions we've had recently. I'd understand if you speed actually changed or 5G

  • DC_GSHealth Daniel Chanisheff AZx2 Pfizerx1 (@DC_GSHealth) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Had to restore my phone. My goodness it’s annoying. Esim needs visit to @Optus store to activate. My phone is the after hours number for patients and pathology. I also didn’t realise #googleauthenticator can’t transfer over. That’s my bad I guess.

  • NoNotChris My Name Is Christian. (@NoNotChris) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

    Seriously Optus?! WTF!

  • SeeBigg Christian Biggins ✌🏻 (@SeeBigg) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Omfg the frustration in trying to close my final @Optus account over the past half an hour has been totally infuriating and making it so clear why I need to be with a different service. This is ****. I just want to close my account!

  • scottcarr1984 Scott Carr (@scottcarr1984) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus my internet service has been out for 3 hours can you let me know what's going on, I'm in east of Sydney.

  • vinnnylove LOVE (@vinnnylove) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

idk if i got a **** contract with optus or something bc the way my wifi has been playing up is pissing me off 🫠

  • FlyOpineMonkey Sir Darryl Adams (@FlyOpineMonkey) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@AbstractCode @NewtonMark @Optus To be fair, they have a female CEO to issue apologies and polish the **** the board and company have created.

  • GT_AUS Graeme T (he/him)💉x 4😷 - 🌳🌲🌴🌵 (@GT_AUS) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@wyvernsrose @sassycarrie From my years with them, dropped a few years ago, I have zero confidence Optus has any idea at all the extent of the hack. Utterly incompetent at customer service, technical support, the lot.👎😡🤬

  • debkasmar Deb Kasmar (@debkasmar) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Hello @Optus can you please explain when I go on to check an outage it says “we’ve identified a fault which means customers in the area may have no access to internet etc” but when I go on the help line they tell me there is no outage 🤔

  • stephenrutter Stephen Rutter (@stephenrutter) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

What is happening with @optus mobile service at the moment?

  • vicrollison Dr Queen Victoria 💧🐀 (@vicrollison) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@myronmy9 @Tiger2047 @Optus Yep. So there isn't actually a 'contract' - which is both great meaning you can leave at any time without paying a stupid penalty - and not great when they can change plans and prices as they like with at least 30 days notice

  • DianaDJ7 Diana DJ (@DianaDJ7) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@bobbylosbravos @bcurrall80 I get 50GB for $45/month on Telstra thru a pre-paid plan I bought from JB Hi-Fi. They were the only Telstra reseller I could find and I refuse to go to Optus or Vodafone due to terrible experiences in the past.

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • cyberfysh cyberfysh 🐀 (@cyberfysh) reported

@VickiPlatt5 I'm guessing that the governments will pass the cost on to Optus, but it needs immediate action and the governments can just authorise the government departments to issue the docs without charge now, rather than wait for Optus to sort itself out.

  • CazFairy CazH (@CazFairy) reported

@Juanita62826690 @noplaceforsheep It's now out there because Optus retained data that should never have been kept.

  • neilw101 Neil Wray (@neilw101) reported

@PRGuy17 Not me; Optus is ****: if i could, i’d be out of my contract with them yesterday.

  • DeadlineDavis Davis Harrigan (Digi) 🏏 (@DeadlineDavis) reported

@erinbsomerville Hey Erin - The 3 major supporting carriers - Optus, Telstra, Voda - AFAIK, only allow use on contracts. I think number or service can be separate but still requires a contract over pre-paid. Seen a few activation issues in that kind. Unfortunately not sure of independent options.

  • CazFairy CazH (@CazFairy) reported

@OngManley @noplaceforsheep Yep. And Optus knew they had security weaknesses, chose not to fix them.

  • nellophonic Neil Brennan 🌊 (@nellophonic) reported

First of all, it's not an #OptusHack, it's an egregious leak. But secondly, is there any indication that @optus has EVER deleted any personal customer data? With no evidence to the contrary: EVERY PERSON WHO HAS EVER BEEN AN OPTUS CUSTOMER HAS JUST HAD THEIR DATA LEAKED

  • Terri_1987a 👠 ☔ 👌🇦🇺 🏳️‍🌈 🌸 Golden Girl (@Terri_1987a) reported

OPTUS wasn't hacked. They let their guard down and some snotty nose kid just walked straight in through the unguarded back door and helped themselves to your data. If you think they were hacked as OPTUS claims then you believe in fairies.

  • DockerBoy79 Wil (@DockerBoy79) reported

@kiel_henry @Optus ****. I also thought that was sent everyone. Guess I’d better follow up too. Telstra looking a better option right now.

  • mikjcal Mick (@mikjcal) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@nicenuts @Itsrustyruss @Optus I can just imagine Deborah and Alan Boomer going in there and losing their **** at the poor staff who had zero to do with it. I feel sorry for the workers in retail. Retail is already a **** job, then you have this on top of it.

  • wheelyweb Joe Ortenzi 🇨🇦 🇮🇹 🇦🇺 (@wheelyweb) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Everyone is missing a critical item. Why do telcos need all that info when I can fire up an sms service without it. However. Optus is directly responsible for the data spill, regardless of if it was a hack or a breach. it’s their responsibility to manage security of that data.
