@dilemski @Telstra Yeah I know. After 4 days it’s still not lit. I’m using my mobile as a hotspot. Thankfully @telstra are “working on it” *insert rage-filled sarcasm here*. I should have switched to @Optus instead of trusting Telstra to provide a decent service. I’m sure they’ll charge me for it

@Optus Thanks Jono. I freakin LOVE your network and have never once had an issue Optus and should not have signed a new bloody contract with Telstra...lesson learned.... 😓

@R_Chirgwin It’s reality though, isn’t it? If, as already shown, Optus can’t protect us poor customers, we’ve got to do what we can.

My own company sent us an email about the @Optus data breach and what to be aware of before I’ve even heard from Optus. The comms from Optus is piss poor. Even if I’m not affected, at least email us or something to let us know what has occurred.

I think it's within my right to ask why that is, and what compensation Optus customers will have access to, because that violates the contract we signed with you as a Telco. If your response is inadequate like it has been recently, I'd be happy lodging a complaint with @OAICgov.

Optus CEO says the entire Nation also bears responsibility to fix her company’s massive data breach: “We don’t yet know who these attackers are & what they want to do with this information, which is why we really need a Team Australia response.” WTAF? 😳

@NeevaStephen @Optus Will PM you. This is another issue, Optus have made no attempt to contact customers about the latest issue. They should be providing advice on how people now take action to protect themselves instead all we hear is information via the press. They are a disgrace!

@stuontheloo @HansOrph That sucks Stuart... I *was* with Optus a while ago - how far back do think the breach went?

To be clear, the issue with the #optus breach isn't a lack of strong laws or penalties, it's the lack of quality legislation which balances privacy, compliance and risk. The past decade has seen an extraordinary erosion of privacy protections and state overreach. #auspol

Has the @optus network always been this terrible in Gunghalin?

@just_blooming @HansOrph Mine was unrelated to Optus, although I am a past customer of theirs (within recent years). Telecommunications companies tend to data warehouse old customer data after a couple of years, but I have no way of knowing what X is.

@kcarruthers If @Optus has failed to keep confidential data secure they have opened themselves to a potential lawsuit with multi-millions of dollars of compensation. Criminals might now hold information via a breach that was very obvious in hindsight. Stupid stupid technology.
