Jason Anders (@Jet_Anders) reported@Optus @Optus @OptusNewsRoom when I try to dial out it tells me there is insufficient credit to make a call, when I text the balance check number it shows unlimited calls until the end of the day 31/07/2026 and the current time is midday AEST. Would this be a network issue?

FreoLou⚓🤘🛫⚖️ (@FreoLou) reported@KateBartlett34 @freopics_ @freodockers I think it will be more about the ladder for them especially with Tex playing away from home but either way I never think any game is a given. We do not have to win it but I hope we keep our Optus record alive for sure.

BRODA (@RazeBannon) reportedAsk Grok: Can ISPs block VOIP? Yes, ISPs can block Voice over IP (VoIP) traffic at their network level, and many do so in practice. This is technically feasible using tools like port blocking, deep packet inspection (DPI), and other traffic management techniques. How ISPs Block VoIP ISPs control the core network infrastructure, so they can inspect and filter traffic before it reaches customers. Common methods include: Port-based blocking**: Traditional VoIP often uses specific ports like UDP 5060/5061 for SIP (signaling) and a range of ports (e.g., 10000–20000) for RTP (media/voice). ISPs can simply drop traffic on these ports. Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)**: This examines not just headers but packet contents, signatures, packet sizes, timing, and protocol behavior to identify VoIP even if it uses non-standard ports or obfuscation. DPI can dynamically detect and block SIP, RTP, or app-specific patterns (e.g., Skype, WhatsApp calls). IP address or domain blacklisting**: Blocking known servers of VoIP providers. Protocol anomaly detection or traffic shaping**: Dropping or throttling UDP-heavy, low-latency streams typical of voice calls. Real-World Examples Certain countries and carriers (e.g., in the Middle East, Morocco, Philippines, or places with state telecom monopolies) block VoIP to protect traditional phone revenue or for regulatory reasons. Mobile providers like Optus 4G or others have blocked SIP traffic. Corporate/school networks or bandwidth-limited ISPs sometimes block or deprioritize VoIP to conserve resources. China has historically blocked VoIP, though workarounds emerged over time. Limitations and Challenges for Complete Blocking Encryption and obfuscation**: Modern VoIP (e.g., over WebRTC, HTTPS, or apps like Signal/WhatsApp) is harder to detect reliably. DPI isn't foolproof against randomized ports, variable packet patterns, or VPN-like wrapping. VPNs and tunnels**: Users can often bypass blocks by routing traffic through a VPN, which encrypts and hides the VoIP signature. Evasion techniques**: Providers and users adapt with port hopping, STUN/TURN servers, or proxies. False positives**: Overly aggressive blocking can disrupt other UDP-based services (gaming, video streaming). Complete, unbreakable blocking is difficult long-term without also harming general internet performance, but partial or effective blocking for most users is very achievable. Why ISPs Do This Reasons include protecting legacy telephony revenue, complying with regulations, managing bandwidth, reducing congestion, or enforcing content policies. In summary, yes—ISPs have both the capability and precedent for blocking VoIP, primarily via DPI and port controls, though motivated users can often circumvent it. If you're dealing with a specific ISP or scenario, details could help narrow down options. TCP/IP allows spam filters at the node level. This is one small example. TCP/IP remains neutral and ethical.

Romire 🇦🇺 (@RomireTV) reported@AshConnell Well Telstra and Optus both had system network failures, and they cant even take responsibility for it

MorgoSmisho (@morgosmisho) reported@Optus ordered a phone upgrade and eSIM. Got the email saying the order number would arrive next. But nothing. Told the order wasn’t processed ‘yet’. Had this before. They say order again and you end up with 2 accounts. When you cancel one, it incurs fees and a debt agency. Scam.

Peter Lewis (@Peter_Lewis747) reported@AuspiciousTimes @blu_boys @Optus Aldi uses “parts of the Telstra network “ if you read the fine details. Only Boost gives you access to the full Telstra network.

Blythe (@Simp_Bat_Gaming) reported@drewlevin Hello Drew Levin, I apologise for once again commenting about this issue :c I have tried so hard to contact support only to be shut down again and again. My name is Blythe (riot account is SimpCat#Meow,) I have been playing league for a few years now in the OCE server. It is a very important part of my life, I’ve met life long friends and my amazing fiancé, Samuel, while playing league of legends. A few months ago my fiancé’s account, (noXis#Kayn) was breached by an overseas IP and subsequently banned for scripting. When we logged off the evening prior nothing was out of the ordinary—we ragequit after getting absolutely smashed two games in a row (rip) and then opted to play minecraft to chill out instead. Fast forward to the following day we go to log into our accounts as per normal only to learn that Sam’s been perma banned. We were both absolutely shocked, heartbroken and confused, I instantly went into my previous game logs, clicked on his profile and went into his recent game history. We found 3 games of ARAM mayhem had been played on his account within an hour of us logging off for the evening—in such games we absolutely saw the person using scripts. After doing some digging through emails we came to learn that Samuel’s email address had been compromised through one of the Australian Optus breaches, in his archived emails we found multiple log in attempts for his riot account, two of which had been successful. They turned off his 2FA for easier and more discreet access. We reached out to the riot support team via the ticket system for help, explaining what had happened as well as the sentimental value of this account. We were subsequently informed that a manual review of the games show scripts and any further ticket will be auto-closed. We KNOW scripts were used, we reviewed the games via my account and could see them clear as day—the issue was that his account had been breached unlawfully and subsequently banned for an offence he did not commit! We’ve both been actively working over these past few months to try and get some kind of help from ANYONE only to be shut down again and again. I have refused to touch league of legends, TFT and Riftbound since this has happened. We have both never shared our account details with anyone and he did have 2FA on. He did all the right things to secure his account and it was still compromised :c I have been disheartened, disappointed and frustrated. I understand that you are a busy person and that the you do not represent the support team, I’m just looking for some kind of advice, guidance and direction on how to get the support team to open an investigation! Just today we got another email about an attempted log in from overseas! Please, please help. I’m begging you :c Thank you for your time, i apologise once again and I look forward to hearing from you.
