Dale, fangirling PRGuy. Always. 🌈 (@DaleHof1234) reportedHuge sigh of relief because I was with them before this date. The Guardian: "Optus customers dating back to 2017 may be caught up in the massive hack of the telco’s customer database, the company’s CEO has revealed."

Kevin (@BertKA88) reportedMy own company sent us an email about the @Optus data breach and what to be aware of before I’ve even heard from Optus. The comms from Optus is piss poor. Even if I’m not affected, at least email us or something to let us know what has occurred.

Stuart Murray (@1stuart_murray) reported@trevorlong Do you think it will also impact third party users of the Optus network I.e Dodo, Catch etc. or do you think all that data would be held on the third parties systems that hasn’t been hacked (hopefully)

Del Sinistra (@GistPolitix) reported@Dempsey57Jackie @KimWomenginet Why would I cancel credit cards? Optus don't have those details either. Plus fraud on those is the banks problem, not mine. Yes, a measured response is reasonable. But let's not go hog wild.

Andrew (@andrew_the_pom) reported@sirgunner1886 @Optus and if they still haven't sent out information to customers directly that's a huge issue. They admitted they've known since Wednesday. It's Friday now and some people would still be unaware. If it wasn't for a random tweet I saw I still wouldn't know & that is messed up.

🌱💧🌴🤑🎓🛶Dirk Gently (@envirorealism) reported@KimWomenginet Reputable telcos around the world provide identity theft services free to customers who are victims of data breaches. If Gladys is at Optus, I would imagine it is 100% a customer’s problem.

Jai 🇮🇳🇦🇺 (@sirgunner1886) reported@andrew_the_pom @Optus Would make no sense to message you if you are not an affected customer.

Di Treble 🕯 👩❤️👩💉x4 🐀 (@ditreble) reported@R_Chirgwin Yes, this. And why the hell is Optus holding all that identifying information anyway? Passport & Drivers licence numbers? Seriously? Aren't they only allowed to store what they need to provide a service? The more we hear the more it sounds like a data breach than a cyber-attack.
