  A guy moved into a new apartment. Only “official” internet was FTTN NBN — $90/month for a pathetic 30 Mbps down max. He called Telstra and Optus. Both said “5G Fixed Wireless not available at your address.” He checked a cell tower map anyway. Half a dozen towers within a couple km.   @mdtlion She sounds more like a Telstra public relations officer, than the Communications Minister. Maybe she’s grifting for a future job with them. I noticed the little dig she made at Optus by mentioning a previous issue they had had in the past, but totally relevant to today’s issues.

  Millions of Australians may have had data accessed by “hackers” after Origin Energy confirmed it is investigating a cybersecurity incident. It could be one of the biggest “cyberattacks” Australia has faced following similar strikes on Optus, Medibank and Qantas. Most of the cyber “hacks” on Australian companies have actually been leaks due to incompetent, lazy IT staff—Origin received and email from the “hacker” but because said hacker didn’t reply to questions from Origin, the company pretended it didn’t happen until the hacker contacted the median. As I said, incompetent lazy IT staff.

  @Bigly20 @Caitlen2310 The Guardian asks why hasn't the government acted on regulations since the Optus outage last year? I ask what did the Coalition do about regulations after the Telstra outages in 2016 & 2018? What private discussions and/or guarantees did they obtain from Telstra after those events? In 2018 Triple Zero calls dropped out across 5 states for 10 hours. If it were so simple why didn't the Coalition insist on Telstra installing back up systems? Maybe we need a Royal Commission (joke).

  Why is it the USA can communicate with a space ship circulating the moon but Australia has such a hard job communicating with a ******* train just around the corner.. Because of this useless waste of space Anita Wells…. WHY is Australia STILL relying on just a single network for the train networks and 000 and a host of so many essential infrastructure ?? WHY hasn’t our government, especially after the Optus outages just changed the laws to the filthy rich telecommunications companies that they have to combine both networks together for things of major importance to the running of the country ?? 000 and train networks. You want a communications licence… fix the bloody thing so at least BOTH Telstra and Optus are both responsible for the safety of Australia and every Australian.. @AngusTaylorMP @PaulineHansonOz
