I'd also like to know why the agencies using the unauthenticated public API @optus provided didn't query the lack of security. And why this doesn't disqualify them from having any access to that kind of data as they are demonstrably unable to identify glaring security issues.

@vince05656201 No not a peep, but Mick Fuller is out there spruiking her credentials as the person who can fix all of the Optus dilemmas.

So if your information was stolen with the Optus hack QLD Government has advised TMR will issue new licence numbers to those affected. However, it can't be done online or over the phone, only in person.

Has anyone done a linguistic analysis on the Optus hacker communications? I'm not a trained linguist, but several parts of the language that is used feel "off" - as in it's deliberately trying to be Bad Engrish. #OptusDataBreach

  • paleeta_b 🎲P🍀³⁵🔙ᴰ⁻¹⁴⁴🆘SHINeeᴰ⁻⁶⁷ (@paleeta_b) reported

Last night I was looking at what data #optus had on me I googled a term in the api I didn’t understand and clicked on a link to a paste hub webpage & there was a list of 100 lines of data that looked EXACTLY like what I was looking at. It was Optus customer data, on the open web.

  • taterunino Tateru Nino (@taterunino) reported

I'm not a customer of @Optus but apparently I've gotten the breach notice from them because I once *was* and they still had my data years later.

  • RyanNorthover Ryan Northover (@RyanNorthover) reported

Maybe @Optus should spend their resources on cyber security/corporate comms/customer service/leadership talent before spending billions acquiring sports rights. Sorry not sorry.

"If you’re impacted by the Optus data breach, TMRQ will issue you a replacement driver's licence with a new licence number free of charge," Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.
