@sammyjcomedian Sammy was still smiling. Sadly this is close to the truth it's not at all absurd. Yet we pay so little for those who serve us. They cop the crap from poor management decisions. Hey @Optus have you not heard of reputational damage?

  • EngrMShehzad Shahzad Siddique (@EngrMShehzad) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

I’m not impressed by @Optus services. I wanna cancel the plan.

  • iammrdom Mr Dom (@iammrdom) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

I’m stuck thinking about my mobile carrier, so I stay with an Optus MVNO or go to a Telstra ‘full service’ MVNO. It’s complicated. There’s $10 a month in it between the two companies.

  • harryxroyalty Lady M 💫 (@harryxroyalty) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@Optus hello, can you please explain why tf your reception is so bad at the moment? For the past 2 weeks I’ve barely gotten 2 bars! I can barely make a phone call.

  • PMalinauskasMP Peter Malinauskas (@PMalinauskasMP) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@Optus how long does it take to upgrade a network tower ? It’s been weeks and I’ve been paying for no 4G wifi/internet?!! Let alone WFH has been difficult….

  • iammrdom dynamic island dom (@iammrdom) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

Seems like @Optus is going to avoid the repercussions of a data leak. Maybe a good chance to look at their offering and price it accordingly to their network quality. Lower prices to add customers.

  • rovingrob Rob Scriva (@rovingrob) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

Is the Optus network cooked in Adelaide? So slow. Can’t even checkin

  • paulnudeisbest Living life naked (@paulnudeisbest) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

After 25 years, & yet another data breach, this latest was the final straw... Goodbye @Optus ... If you can't even bother with basic protection of my data, why should I continue paying you for a less than stellar service? Just an hour to port everything to a more reliable telco.

  • adriankhall AKH 🇦🇺 (@adriankhall) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@Optus is there an NBN outage in the Klemzig area? Mobile phone service this morning was OKAY. Thanks!

Seems my phone company Optus has been hacked so if you are being trolled or asked for money by me then you know that’s normal, but if there are stupid memes posted then I’ve been hacked

  • phileboy11 Philip Downes * (@phileboy11) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

Hey @Optus who in their right mind designed a security system to send a one time code to an email address when I call for support about my internet not working? #AskingForAFriend

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • miss_neko_nadi ꕥNekoꕥ (@miss_neko_nadi) reported

@AnnastaciaMP Just called @TMRQld you have to go in to a service center with the email your received from @Optus prove you were effected.

  • MiguelDSouza Miguel D'Souza (@MiguelDSouza) reported

Hey Optus customers, despite having cancelled my Optus account years ago - because service was shite - my data evidently has been retained all these and has been lost in the breach. The story broke two weeks ago and people are just finding out they've been caught up.

  • thewollemipine sydneysider 😷😁 (@thewollemipine) reported

you then have to fill in a special form+take this to service NSW. Service NSW will check breach with Optus. Eventually you will get a new Drivers Lic number. Ppl are getting confused between your Drivers Lic number + your Drivers Lic card number. The Driver Lic num is what counts

  • debritz Brett Debritz (@debritz) reported

I'm an Optus customer and I don't want a new passport. It was enough hassle getting the one I have. And, as I've noted before, everywhere I've travelled, hotel staff and foreign governments have taken photocopies of my actual passport -- more useful to fraudsters than a number.

  • JulieYouDontKno Julie (@JulieYouDontKno) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk Optus accepted my stolen drivers licence when someone used it to fraudulently open an account.A stolen license makes up a chunk of “100 points” of ID. Why the f*** does Optus not check whether the person looks like the photo? And WTF VicRoads won’t change my drivers license?!?

  • wetherby2019 Wetherby2019 (@wetherby2019) reported

@FeathersMcGee Other telcos probably keep the same info. Federal regulation around these practices must be lacking. I did ask when joining Optus years ago but can't remember the answer, damn.🤨

  • Rowenawozhere Rowena S (@Rowenawozhere) reported

@TMRQld @davidtickle @Optus This process is inflexible and inconvenient. Are you extending service centre hours? Are you increasing staffing? Why can’t this be done over the phone? What about people who can’t attend service centres?

  • CliftonHcat Clifton Hill cat (@CliftonHcat) reported

@KylieSWine @Lisaisalooseun1 @mariewalsh18 I haven’t heard a word from them either. Two days ago I heard on the radio that Optus had finished contacting everyone affected by that afternoon, yet obviously people are still being told as of yesterday. Hopeless. I’m just assuming the worst, now.

  • kezzaMalanga Kerry Hunter (@kezzaMalanga) reported

@ElysseMorgan If you were ever an Optus customer you’re still at risk. They kept all data!

  • vrachelv9 rachelv (@vrachelv9) reported

@CharlieHorseToy I got this email last night. The worst part - I’ve never been a direct Optus customer. Kids used to have coles prepaid mobile (which uses optus)
