@samr6003 @Optus Absolutely-I'm concerned about people with low digital literacy and less resource to access this help. Really disappointing from @Optus #OptusHack

@masericha @Optus When I messaged they wanted my details to confirm my account! I'm a previous customer and I got the email to say my info was taken - like I'll hand over any other info to them to confirm it. @Optus tell us what you're doing to fix your own mess.

@DrKate_Miller @Optus I'm part of the team that, as a paying customer who is relying on a service to be safe and secure, has very real expectations that this company is capable & proactive in ensuring just that. Loyalty is not just a card customers get by spending lots...

Well done @Optus , you’ve compromised your “valued” customers details, a security service included in our bill, and your compensation is “we’re really sorry”. How about you scrap out bills for the rest of the year? Honestly what are you going to do for your “Valued” customers???

Actions I've had to take due to @Optus illegally sharing my personal information with third parties: - Cancel bank card - Change linked accounts - Change emails - Change all passwords - Put bans on Credit files Still might not be enough. Response from #Optus send 1 crap email!

@trevorlong I just received one too and not been an Optus customer for a long time. Is there a specific timeframe they are required to retain this information by law? Or are they just hoarding precious customers information?

Got my email finally, found in spam folder like many others. This incident could not have been handled more poorly by Optus.

@vonhelsnuff @ZiptieZoe @Jeremy_Kirk I don't think it'd be hard for the DPP to convince a magistrate and 12 jurors that the breach and subsequent transfer of information was unauthorised, in so far as Optus itself did not give authorisation to the individual/s that accessed their network
