@Minus777 @Asher_Wolf @Optus Definitely not a phishing site. I ended up just paying for 30 days and putting a freeze on my file until they come through with a working code. Then complaint Optus and tio .

@Phil69695598 @_davidlimbrick @Waterme59781068 We can argue why certain data was kept till the cows come home. My issue is why was the front door left wide open. They need to change everyone drivers licence numbers (maybe passport) and Optus needs to pay for this.

@RNBreakfast pretty obvious short term remedy for Optus- they should be compelled to reimburse the costs for every customer to replace their drivers license and passport.

…So, I went upstairs, signed up to Telstra, switched my SIM, and MAGIC!, all working. I went down to Optus, authenticated by text - via Telstra - and paid off my bill. Goodbye Optus! And, good riddance! And now my data is on the Internet. Optus, I “salute” you!🖕😎

@baxters @Optus If they were, you would have got an email last week. They were retaining my info as a past customer & I got the email which was pathetically worded to say 'don't worry, they didn't get your log in deets, just every single other piece of info to steal your identity!'

@ClareONeilMP IDCARE do not do what they say on their website, they just send you an email, 5 pages long. Very disappointing service, why does the government fund this joke of an entity ? IDCARE tell you that Optus is not a subscriber of IDCARE??

@bluyonda @nameshiv My mum cancelled Optus ages ago because of stuff around during broadband rollout, but they were really bad about just closing the account, so she still gets weird not-bills. She got the email about details release, so I suspect it might include ex-customers too.

@blue01dragonfly Probably done on purpose! They believe this could be the end of optus. 🤔 they'll shut them down. And it'll be another provider soon. They all lease the lines from Telstra. So I'd be looking at them first! It makes sense to have ONE provider for the credit digital system!!

I stopped using @Optus years ago. Yet my personal information- including ID - is caught up in the breach. Why was that information on file? Why was it kept on file after proving my identity? Why was it STILL there years after I stopped being a customer? #OptusHack #privacy

@vicroads please change your rules re licence replacement. Optus customers should not have to wait for a fraud to occur to be allowed to change their driver’s licences! It’s bad enough to have the data breach. @DanielAndrewsMP @Optus 1/2

@Optus I fought you about handing over my drivers license for you to coky and keep on file when I signed up. You promised me your system would be safe. Fine ******** out of them @AlboMP #AusPol2022 who is going to compensate me for stress if I get identity fraud.
