@Minus777 @Asher_Wolf @Optus Definitely not a phishing site. I ended up just paying for 30 days and putting a freeze on my file until they come through with a working code. Then complaint Optus and tio .

Is there grounds for a class action against @Optus? Surely that have a legal obligation to protect their customer's data. @wefightforfair

This is Optus we’re talking about here, they’ve never been good at security, and always good at blaming somebody else for “sophisticated attacks” on unsecured systems.

@Optus why ******** isn't your customer's data encrypted?

@saltyskin_ @marzephyr12 @Optus And it was their insane negligence opening up their network that did it.

@OBBY001 @Optus Gee Optus are fast in communicating !! Thought the crisis management team would've said we need to let customers know we are aware of the issue & are investigating it & will update in due course.

The Optus CEO said we should take a “Team Australia” approach to the data breach. She’s right. We should all come together for this. We need stronger data privacy laws. We need companies to be accountable and *liable* for big damage if they make big mistakes.

@manjusrii This is devastating for @Optus and so far they have done everything we want - they have owned the problem, notified customers and tried to minimise the scam damages. Compare that to the Government with the census, mygov, covid apps and whatever else crashes - always excuses

While I’m glad I’m not with Optus, my own ISP went down at 10pm last night. No mobile reception where I live either. Finally back online almost 24 hours later.
