I also left Optus months ago but received an email stating as a past Optus customer my personal data, my details, my name, drivers licence etc has also been breached! I'm livid like the rest of the approximate 10 million present and past Optus customers!!!

Nearly 40 years in the IT industry & I've seen a lot of bullshit distributed by oscillating devices but this "sophisticated attack" crap from Optus is outrageous.

@oneplanetmikey @JanB_QLD @joshgnosis The issue is, that it was unencrypted. If it had been encrypted, the ‘hackers’ would have probably moved on. Optus provided it unencrypted, ******* with a bow, sitting on the front doorstep.

@DashingEnO @Rashidajourno @Optus Damn yeah that’s a good point. We can’t trust anything they say and have to assume most, if not all, of the information they held on us has been taken (I say taken rather than stolen considering they left the door wide open).

@IhaveabluehatMP @MoarToast @Optus well if we string them along and get their confidence then manage to tell them they are not working for a legitimate call centre, that might help. Real Apple cleaned up and prosecuted all the 100s of fake Apple shops in China I believe. Why can't Telstra & Optus do same?
