Optus needs to pay for everything that was lost not the govt because the govt means taxpayers. Why would we pay for an Optus mistake and a big fat mistake that. If I were an affected Optus customer, I'd be seeing a lawyer.

  • DavidGallard2 David Gallard (@DavidGallard2) reported

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews My wife is a former customer of Optus who had personal information stolen. Why has Optus retained personal information of former customers, surely the need for that information has passed and should have been deleted.

  • neilw101 Neil Wray (@neilw101) reported

@alifrance5 Optus should also bare all costs for any customer wanting to move to another carrier. What they have allowed is unforgivable.

  • brookeg_rantham Brooke Grantham (@brookeg_rantham) reported

@Optus i was recently informed that to activate my esim i must go in store. i was not informed of this prior to my purchase and as a rural customer i would have to drive four hours. this is extremely unfair as i don’t have the ability to travel. rude service does not help.

  • ChrisPGATsucks Chris Barrett (@ChrisPGATsucks) reported

@SkyNewsAust Albo is right Optus should be paying for ******** up

  • Aitch_El Overlizard (@Aitch_El) reported

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews Ive heard nothing from them, but i was a default customer 2.5 yrs ago when VirginMobile switched to Optus. Optus must have my details since the handover. Not a peep from #Optus.

  • TorSamundsett Tor Samundsett (@TorSamundsett) reported

Seen a few tweeps asking why Optus had **** like Licence numbers. Cast your mind back to 2017 and the Metadata & Data retention laws & all of us in Cyber Sec shouting that it was a ******* bad idea. Anyway, we told you so.

  • TeefiCaranza Teefi C. (@TeefiCaranza) reported

Dear Optus, You better be paying for my licence and passport renewal. What a hassle. Yours, A Very Disappointed and Displeased Customer

  • thewollemipine sydneysider 😷😁 (@thewollemipine) reported

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews It’s very clear that no further action will be taken by Optus unless the customer contacts Optus, asks what details have been leaked and make Optus provide a free Equifax account. I get the feeling Optus has no idea exactly what data has been leaked.

  • 10NewsFirst 10 News First (@10NewsFirst) reported

"I therefore seek your earliest confirmation that Optus will cover the passport application fees of any customer affected by this breach whose passport information was disclosed and who choose to replace their currently valid passport."
