Stephen Blakeney (@StephenB_adl) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
I spoke to @Optus about cancelling my service and part of the package to keep me was a 12 months subscription to Equifax - so wait, do I need it or not? I don’t think it should be an optional extra 🤨

dynamic island dom (@iammrdom) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
Seems like @Optus is going to avoid the repercussions of a data leak. Maybe a good chance to look at their offering and price it accordingly to their network quality. Lower prices to add customers.

AKH 🇦🇺 (@adriankhall) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
@Optus is there an NBN outage in the Klemzig area? Mobile phone service this morning was OKAY. Thanks!

STEVE FISCHER (@STEVEFI14205588) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
@sammyjcomedian Sammy was still smiling. Sadly this is close to the truth it's not at all absurd. Yet we pay so little for those who serve us. They cop the crap from poor management decisions. Hey @Optus have you not heard of reputational damage?
-
Philip Downes * (@phileboy11) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
Hey @Optus who in their right mind designed a security system to send a one time code to an email address when I call for support about my internet not working? #AskingForAFriend

gcov (@gcov5) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
Optus we scraped through, never been a customer, now Medibank hacked.... Needs to change, companies holding personal data. Why do they even need to ? After validation the only detail they should store is for payment, no licence, no passport, birthday...

Online licence replacements are now available for affected Optus customers. Effective immediately, South Australians affected by the Optus data breach will be able to apply for a replacement licence online via their mySAGOV account - without having to attend a Service SA Centre.

David McCandless (@davemc) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
Seems my phone company Optus has been hacked so if you are being trolled or asked for money by me then you know that’s normal, but if there are stupid memes posted then I’ve been hacked
-
ArchiesMum (@LizzieGeddes) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
@MFWitches @Optus Well pleased to say I have never liked them so lucky this time!!! Gladys says it all and the smug insensitive ignorant CEO. Both a disgrace and disappointment
-
Stacey 🇵🇸🇺🇦 (@StaceySparrow10) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
@Kanga561 Majority of my details have changed since then luckily but it's bloody stressful isn't it. I hope you don't get too much trouble from it. It's absolutely bullshit. I had it happen with optus, now this. It's beyond a joke.

Lady M 💫 (@harryxroyalty) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
@Optus hello, can you please explain why tf your reception is so bad at the moment? For the past 2 weeks I’ve barely gotten 2 bars! I can barely make a phone call.
-
Kelly (@kellyy1009) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
@Optus None of this helps. You couldn’t help me when it happened last year and I don’t doubt the answer will be the same again tomorrow. What the app says vs what my phone settings say are two completely different things.

John Bowman (@bow55213735) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
@Asher_Wolf @pully8 @OAICgov I had a free month, the following day after it expired Optus was compromised. I wanted to cancel my account prior to the day before the free month ended. So I took my modem back, but was told I could only cancel the account if I bought the used modem. If I had a faulty modem YES!

Living life naked (@paulnudeisbest) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
After 25 years, & yet another data breach, this latest was the final straw... Goodbye @Optus ... If you can't even bother with basic protection of my data, why should I continue paying you for a less than stellar service? Just an hour to port everything to a more reliable telco.
-
Peter Malinauskas (@PMalinauskasMP) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
@chrissyinoz Yes. Optus customers who have already paid a fee for a replacement licence can apply in person at their Service SA for a refund.

Mr Dom (@iammrdom) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia
I’m stuck thinking about my mobile carrier, so I stay with an Optus MVNO or go to a Telstra ‘full service’ MVNO. It’s complicated. There’s $10 a month in it between the two companies.

@Optus Eff you @Optus, you leaked all my data, just got the lame excuse email from you, such a disappointing service.
-
Sassy Carrie (@sassycarrie) reported
@AugersMonster @Optus I mean even credit/debit cards are far easier to cancel than changing my entire ******* identity ffs.
-
Giuseppe Constantine Devereaux the Third (@GCDtheThird) reported
@AylaWolfMother @ianbfarquhar @Optus They're not protected from a class action if they are shown to have acted in bad faith regarding the implementation of proper security. The fact they were compromised automatically means they acted in bad faith as they effectively "allowed" a breach.
-
Heathdon S McGregor (@HeathdonSMcGreg) reported
@masericha @Optus Start a completely different complaint and get the same response, word for word?
-
Kevin Chapman (@K3vin_Chapman) reported
As far as I can tell, after over 30 mins on the phone with @Optus, their strategy for supporting impacted customer is to tell them to wait for a call ("within 48 business hours"!) and just hope for the best until then... #OptusHack #OptusDataBreach
-
Neil Cameron 📷 ️💉💉💉💉🤪 (@Option1) reported
UGH @Optus So I get the "we're sorry but we ****** you over & lost your info" email. So I thought one piece of protection is to go change my password. Yeh, well, I've never seen the process made so hard in my entire life! Can't paste into pword field. Can't see pword! USELESS!
-
Hans Orph (@HansOrph) reported
@stuontheloo @Optus AFAIK their duty is to protect customer data under the 1988 Privacy Act, and I'm sure some skilled lawyer/law firm will find where in the act Optus were negligent
-
👻 Sophiroth 👻 (@sophieinc) reported
@Lowry_16 @Optus The email is so ****, it's like "oh don't worry, they don't have your Optus password", meanwhile they got names, addresses, DOB, licence and passport numbers: all the stuff that can be used to apply for credit or ID Optus should pay for credit monitoring for all affected
-
HelenW (@Literarychick2) reported
@Greybeard3 Yes, but I imagine there will be folk genuinely think this will protect from what's already happened, makes it misleading, & a scam perpetrated on anxious individuals. But Damn & Blast Optus, hey!
