Optus tried to offer me new iPhone 11 with unlimited mins/texts & 10GB data for 24 months for $125 a month or something stupid. Crazy to think how much I’ve spent in the past on contracts, from now on.. I’m paying cash out right. So much easier no hassle not tied in..

🤞those of us yet to receive contact from @Optus have no id doc info leaked as they claim they have contacted those who have by now. Understandable using the "emergency dept system" of treating the worst first, but an anxious wait to confirm how affected, if at all, we are.

@charlietech @Optus They had all my details from the Virgin takeover, I left Optus for an Optus MNVO (unaffected) 18 months ago, got an email Saturday about the breach. Very piss poor response, barely worth reading.

@troyhunt Was it worth the problem is the right question. However, to whom? Cost from this point forward will be to those whose data has been breached. As this won't cost Optus... Why should they care? Potential profits from hoarding data are huge. Costs of breach negligible to Optus.

@charlietech @Optus It’s okay, the CEO cried… Never witnessed a weaker response to a data breach and that’s having seen Sony give it a red hot go in ‘11.

@georgetweets2u @Optus We will get absolutely NOTHING out of this… except an email to change our password. Absolutely horrid!

@7NewsMelbourne There's a strong clause for service cancellation arguing gross incompetence and bringing the service agreement into disrepute so ALL customers of Optus should do this. Won't save our data unfort. I sub managed to cancel this morning and move (back) to Telstra...
