@TMRQld @Optus Great, so basically no way to prevent a crime that could destroy my financial life and cause untold issues when that data is confirmed stolen through no fault of my own. So I need to be the victim of a crime... And this could be done with a few keystrokes. Why do I pay taxes?

  • MarcusMMcIntyre Marcus McIntyre ⏩ (@MarcusMMcIntyre) reported

So where is this hundreds of millions of dollars in fines for Optus @ClareONeilMP? Surely we're not morons with a low limited number right? For a major corporation who leaked around 40% of the Australian population's information? We're not that stupid right? #optus #optushack

  • erik_petersen erik petersen (@erik_petersen) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk Optus sent noreply email telling me not to click on unknown links, & I can securely contact them thru the MyOptus app. #WTF How did a rogue IP address call their API 100s, sorry 1000s, sorry millions of times & not be blocked. Sack the #optus security boss, CIO & CEO.

  • mikebuttery Creatyr the Tiler (@mikebuttery) reported

@DamBusterPrest @manjusrii It’s not a cyberattack. Optus devs opened all the information up to the internet and it was scraped using sequential customer IDs. - Why no encryption? - Why no authorisation? - Why no hashed customer IDs? - Why was a test system using production database? Customer first - nah

  • GavinAnim Gavin Foo (@GavinAnim) reported

@DanielAndrewsMP Can you change the @Vicroads requirement for getting a new licence number? Why do I need to be a victim of identity theft before getting help? It'd help all affected by @Optus really dropping the ball.

  • _judge_moody msw (@_judge_moody) reported

Hey @Optus - a credit doesn’t help me, a ex customer whose data got stolen.

  • JohnGarretto John Garretto (@JohnGarretto) reported

Not sure how you can go into a store or call up without a physical lisence and get a new sim card for an existing @Optus mobile number. So the existing numher which was working on my mother's simcard was switched off to have no service causing mass confusion. #OptusHack

  • KateA_au Kate A (@KateA_au) reported

I have been an Optus customer for 6 years. I keep hearing about emails being sent to Optus customers whose data has been compromised, but I haven’t received one. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing?

  • Eli_La11_11 Lis (@Eli_La11_11) reported

@CatPurry9 That's precisely one of the issues I had with that email. Made me even more angry! And "importantly no financial info or passwords have been accessed"... Umm except they have the rest of it. But #Optus are the victim.

  • Jeremy_Kirk Jeremy Kirk (@Jeremy_Kirk) reported

Optus is offering a 12-month subscription to Equifax Protect, an ID and credit monitoring service, to the "most affected" customers. That's not long enough. Driver's license, passport numbers and other data is valid for much longer than that. #OptusHack #auspol
