  • phileboy11 Philip Downes * (@phileboy11) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

Hey @Optus who in their right mind designed a security system to send a one time code to an email address when I call for support about my internet not working? #AskingForAFriend

  • PMalinauskasMP Peter Malinauskas (@PMalinauskasMP) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@NickToulantas Yes. Optus customers who have already paid a fee for a replacement licence can apply in person at their Service SA for a refund.

  • bow55213735 John Bowman (@bow55213735) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@Asher_Wolf @pully8 @OAICgov I had a free month, the following day after it expired Optus was compromised. I wanted to cancel my account prior to the day before the free month ended. So I took my modem back, but was told I could only cancel the account if I bought the used modem. If I had a faulty modem YES!

  • adriankhall AKH 🇦🇺 (@adriankhall) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@Optus is there an NBN outage in the Klemzig area? Mobile phone service this morning was OKAY. Thanks!

  • iammrdom dynamic island dom (@iammrdom) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

Seems like @Optus is going to avoid the repercussions of a data leak. Maybe a good chance to look at their offering and price it accordingly to their network quality. Lower prices to add customers.

  • LizzieGeddes ArchiesMum (@LizzieGeddes) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@MFWitches @Optus Well pleased to say I have never liked them so lucky this time!!! Gladys says it all and the smug insensitive ignorant CEO. Both a disgrace and disappointment

  • davemc David McCandless (@davemc) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

Seems my phone company Optus has been hacked so if you are being trolled or asked for money by me then you know that’s normal, but if there are stupid memes posted then I’ve been hacked

  • PMalinauskasMP Peter Malinauskas (@PMalinauskasMP) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

Online licence replacements are now available for affected Optus customers. Effective immediately, South Australians affected by the Optus data breach will be able to apply for a replacement licence online via their mySAGOV account - without having to attend a Service SA Centre.

  • kellyy1009 Kelly (@kellyy1009) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@Optus None of this helps. You couldn’t help me when it happened last year and I don’t doubt the answer will be the same again tomorrow. What the app says vs what my phone settings say are two completely different things.

  • PMalinauskasMP Peter Malinauskas (@PMalinauskasMP) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

Optus customers who have already paid a fee for a replacement licence can apply in person at their Service SA for a refund.

  • STEVEFI14205588 STEVE FISCHER (@STEVEFI14205588) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@sammyjcomedian Sammy was still smiling. Sadly this is close to the truth it's not at all absurd. Yet we pay so little for those who serve us. They cop the crap from poor management decisions. Hey @Optus have you not heard of reputational damage?

  • StephenB_adl Stephen Blakeney (@StephenB_adl) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

I spoke to @Optus about cancelling my service and part of the package to keep me was a 12 months subscription to Equifax - so wait, do I need it or not? I don’t think it should be an optional extra 🤨

  • gcov5 gcov (@gcov5) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

Optus we scraped through, never been a customer, now Medibank hacked.... Needs to change, companies holding personal data. Why do they even need to ? After validation the only detail they should store is for payment, no licence, no passport, birthday...

  • harryxroyalty Lady M 💫 (@harryxroyalty) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@Optus hello, can you please explain why tf your reception is so bad at the moment? For the past 2 weeks I’ve barely gotten 2 bars! I can barely make a phone call.

  • paulnudeisbest Living life naked (@paulnudeisbest) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

After 25 years, & yet another data breach, this latest was the final straw... Goodbye @Optus ... If you can't even bother with basic protection of my data, why should I continue paying you for a less than stellar service? Just an hour to port everything to a more reliable telco.

  • iammrdom Mr Dom (@iammrdom) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

I’m stuck thinking about my mobile carrier, so I stay with an Optus MVNO or go to a Telstra ‘full service’ MVNO. It’s complicated. There’s $10 a month in it between the two companies.

  • monkey_brennan Clarence J. Boddicker (@monkey_brennan) reported

@10NewsFirst @hughriminton @ParisMartin_1 A customer here. Still yet to hear from Optus. Their comms and crisis mgmt teams are just as bad as their cyber security team

  • FaineBlackadder 🐀Duchess of 💉Sewer Rats🐀🌻🇺🇦🌻 (@FaineBlackadder) reported

@kentparktweet @strangerous10 #mockLachlan sounds like fun. Wonder if he's an Optus customer?

  • agarner Adam Garner (@agarner) reported

Another risk assessment should have been done when connecting this API to a test network that was Internet connected. Again, Optus’s fault no matter how you slice it.

  • jeff_nrg Jeff N (@jeff_nrg) reported

@Optus @RunnerSA18 In a crisis, communicate with your customers. You haven't emailed me to, you know, say sorry or what has happened or like anything. Did they literally steal all the customer emails so that you are unable to send out emails to your own customers?

  • Laughatsaltyge1 Laughatsaltygeelong (@Laughatsaltyge1) reported

@EnLieten_ @patrickkeneally And go where? Telstra I'd rather lose an eye vodafone doesnt work unless cbd and lil dodgy companies all use optus infastructure mostly

  • AbstractEqual Abstract Equilibrium (@AbstractEqual) reported

@stephanlivera @Optus Even the US had the self awareness to know that collection is bad and tried to hide it. Australia says, screw it... we'll punish you if you DON'T collect metadata. 😔

  • martin85468119 martin (@martin85468119) reported

@cameronwilson Optus ceo asking for a team Australia response is a huge red flag in my book will now ditch them for another service theirs is a bit hit and miss anyway

  • that_guy19_ Josh (@that_guy19_) reported

@jacob_633 @Optus Poor bugger. You must feel super reassured tho your login password wasn't compromised lol... just you know, everything else to steal your identity!

  • photoenz Enzo Amato (@photoenz) reported

@abcnews What a pr fail they should have taking more care of customers data they must have known for long time! #hackoptus #optusfail #hack @Optus

  • chrisjackis Chris Jack (@chrisjackis) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

If laughable that @PeterDutton_MP suggests the #OptusDataBreach is a problem for the government. It’s an Optus issue about a breach in Optus customer data. Let Optus sort things out and investigate first. #auspol
