@Jolivins @websyd @ianbfarquhar Secondly, why wasn't data ranked?. PP & DL data should require a diff level of access. Optus & big companies cannot hide behind oh look there is a bad thief out there. Their process is a joke. No amount of PR/Spin can hide it.

@LydiaAmesha You’re kidding now, right? If CIA can be broken into, what makes you think Optus can’t get hacked? They have security. The hackers simply have the tools to get around security controls… have you been asleep at the wheel or something???

But I do feel for the @optus call centre and complaint staff who have deal with the millions of customers their millionaire bosses just threw to the wolves.

@LovelockEdward @strangerous10 @softhardworker The three or four times I've been in the telstra shop the service has been so bad I've never gone with them, the girl in my local Optus shop is a very helpful genius and the plans are a fair bit cheaper so I don't really want to move.

@Em_speaking @Optus I would like to know this too! I was never informed that this info would be retained - so they have breached the privacy act by failing to inform. Disgusting

@OMGTheMess @Optus Alas, you can’t reestablish the identity. Once it’s stolen, it’s shared with criminals forever. That’s the worst part 😢

@AliceFay @Optus Wow, that is so bad. For a communications company, surely sending a network-wide SMS is within their means?

@agarner I had a call last night from someone claiming to be from Optus asking about a service they said I had applied for. I have not applied though I am an Optus customer. I wonder if this is using the stolen data or is just a run of the mill scam?
