@toninicho I am now, seriously, thinking of changing my carrier after years of being with Optus Problem is Telstra cost me a first full money last time I was with them and I dropped Vodaphone over their poor customer service.

@LesStonehouse @Optus There is, I think I remember correctly, a period of up to 48 hours where a new service replicates across a WAN (wide area network).

@JW58844621 @Optus I strongly advise you to go to the telecommunications ombudsman to lodge a complaint and request your contract be terminated. They'll be most obliging. They were fantastic when I had issues with Vodafone on a new contract a decade ago. Contract was terminated with them.

@MattRob88518961 @Optus Exactly Matty, there are so many potential issues but Optus would not know how to contact me now because I’m no longer a customer. Thank God. BTW An IT guru I know reckons the hack was so simple that Optus should be criminally investigated for negligence too…

Scared as **** with the optus hack. Am trusting the minister for cybersec more than optus atm. Really hoping not in the 2.3 million that have extensive personal info in the hack (passport number, Medicare number, driver's license so on)

Related to Optus fiasco, compromised credential monitoring built into iOS and Google is really useful and worth considering. For me it picked up data leaks in just the past month from a streaming service and a former employer and gave an early warning to fix it.

@9NewsAUS DONT PAY! As a cyber security engineer, I would recommend optus not to pay a DIME! These things never end good. They’ll keep extorting money again and again. Its like kidnapping “public data”. Ransom never works!

At last I got an answer for my 3G issues, they have switched off 3G 2100MHZ 3G in Artarmon! Now if they just informed the clowns in customer circus, then again Optus have a more current example of not advising customers! <grin>
