@Huawei_Europe Years ago #Optus have me a @Huawei loaner mobile phone while mine was sent off for repairs. It was the worst piece of junk I'd ever come across. I gave it back and bought myself a cheap, far superior @NokiaMobile . #Rubbish

Well I think I'll be staying with Telstra after all, after the garbage customer service I've received from @Optus this week. #notimpressed As a customer service rep myself, I know the value of good service. That ain't it, chief.

@Optus @NBN_Australia Currently on hold to Optus & online chat. We’ve been told the relocation request we put in doesn’t exist, even though it is in multiple chat threads with Optus who said they’d arrange this. They recognised that our service was previously working, just not with the speed boost WTF

@NBN_Australia An update: called @Optus who transferred us to @NBN_Australia who then told us that there is an outage in the Sandy Bay (Tasmania) area and that the internet would be on in 4 hours (9pm last night). 9pm has been and gone. Standard troubleshooting, eg reboot hardware, etc & nada!

Afternoon briefing has Linda Reynolds doing her impersonation of Sharon Strzelecki from Kath and Kim with a sour face when her idiotic points on Optus were pointed out. Poor Linda dumped from all her ministries and still totally incompetent in opposition

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I've actually had none, not one email or message. Zilch. I'm so bloody angry, I've been with them for over 20 years and they treat me like this! Time for a better deal I think. #OptusHack #Optus #optusbreach

When Labor was in Opposition it was rare to see them as Guests on @abcnews programs, now that Labor is the Govt @abcnews regularly has a #LNP MOP in lieu of a Govt MOP to discuss Govt issues, eg. James Patterson who is not academically qualified, discussing the Optus data breach.

Optus lobbied for & received a relaxation of certain requirements for stress-testing its cyber defences under a 2021 reform to major service providers after arguing they were commercially onerous. Paul Fletcher was Minister of Communications. Fletcher worked for Optus 2000-2008

@Caddy1943 @timburrowes Lucky you. I am an Optus customer for mobiles, fixed phone, NBN and more. Have heard nothing from Optus recently except for an email saying that they had noticed an outage of my NBN - which isn't surprising, because there was a 5 minute blackout at the time. But no news.

@VictorDominello I have just been told by @Optus that I can’t have a refund on my new licence because I’m no longer a customer. They are only offering credit for customers. Which, as I left 2 years ago, would be useless to me…oh, and they’d want my new license number!!

I would recommend avoiding multi-factor authentication which is provided over SMS. This is highly susceptible to attacks such as SIM jacking. Unfortunately, @Optus uses MFA over SMS which is a big problem. /5

@dcash781 @Breezybaby1811 @noplaceforsheep I was last a customer 10 years ago. So they are lying when they say only a few years. I was shocked to receive the email as I didn’t think I would have been affected. I would not believe a word Optus officials are saying.

On ABC 'Afternoon Briefing' Lib Sen James Pattinson refuses to blame CEO of Optus for data breach, but quick to target Labor Gov for problems then Lib Senator Renolds suggests Gov is flat footed. A private company failed its customers from cyber security attacks, not Government.

Today I have applied for a new Victorian driver's licence. In the past I have been an optus customer so I don't believe that not more of us are affected.
