  • corduroy Josh Mckinnon (@corduroy) reported from Faulconbridge, State of New South Wales

Optus 4G has been rubbish all afternoon. Not completely broken, just bad. I presume it’s DNS somehow.

  • Stevenqoz Steven Quilty (@Stevenqoz) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@DeanRosario We did pay $130 a month Foxtel, now get Optus EPL, get Netflix thru a daughters login, Stan with Optus and Kayo thru my son’s second log in. Upshot we threatened to bin Foxtel and now get it for $39. Selfish but was so happy when Foxtel had all EPL. Optus very good now👍

  • trickyricky_12 RickyV (@trickyricky_12) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

    **** @Optus I'm not caving in 🤪

  • clivedickens Clive Dickens (@clivedickens) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

    @EFTM @trevorlong Hi @trevorlong @optus launched eSIM support for compatible @Apple iPhones and Watches in April 2019. #keepup :)

  • NickBurrough Nick Burrough (@NickBurrough) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Telstra I raised a complaint on Telstra Website. I don’t need someone to tell me to switch on and off a service I don’t have! I moved to Optus last week. I just need the wire removed.

  • BoultR 💧RichardB ActiveCitizen (@BoultR) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@geoff_wales Was with Amaysim. Good service, great price But, Optus transmission just doesn't work in my new apartment! So had to say goodbye to Amaysim, reluctantly.

  • aussiepomm aussiepomm (@aussiepomm) reported from Galston, State of New South Wales

So - @NBN_Australia cut off home phone when attempting to install but can’t complete job, and now @Optus have cancelled my ADSL account. Neither are particularly helping (blaming each other) so I guess it’s the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman to assist! Been a horrid 24hrs

  • nuenp Newbie_I_Am (@nuenp) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Tonight marks another @Telstra #fail. Simple request to port a no. over and it has taken a week to do! Then I find out the the issue is from @Telstra end #WTF. Moving my services to @Optus #incompetent #telstrafail

  • paloappie Chelsea Feltham (@paloappie) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

After two weeks of no internet with @Optus due to “back end issues” with my relocation, I was told it could be a further 21 days to get connected. I cancelled my service. 30 mins after submitting the form on the @Aussie_BB website, my NBN was connected. Customer service folks!

  • scott_thewspot Scott (@scott_thewspot) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@zyzzyvamedia @adam_turner @Optus I never call optus for support, I've fixed all my issues via their twitter.

  • BeauGiles Beau 🏳️‍🌈 (@BeauGiles) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@zacorytaylor I just moved to Vodafone today, $45 for 50GB Considered Optus, but new plans are awful compared to a few weeks back (since Telstra played their cards, now the others are moving too)

  • skylxrksays SKYLXRK (@skylxrksays) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Another day another NBN outage... and right as I got home. Pleeeease don’t let this turn into an ongoing saga like it was with Optus HFC 🙃

  • chillnesses KR Dev 🇦🇺 (@chillnesses) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus fix ur shitty mobile network it never works. By far the worst carrier in Australia

  • MikePearsall93 Mike Pearsall (@MikePearsall93) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Compare this to @Optus taking 6 weeks and four different plans to move my internet service 3 doors down in the same street. 😒

  • imJoskii Mike Joskii (@imJoskii) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Still having connection issues but noticed Optus are doing upgrades to my area, which explains it. Could be good to go as soon as this weekend or as far as mid-Sept. Can likely still stream Judgement.

  • meggsie79 MEGAN SAMUEL (@meggsie79) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@CynicalAU @Optus @TPG_Telecom Don’t do it @TPG_Telecom are terrible. At present we haven’t had email access for almost 3 days and they seem in no rush to rectify the issue. Also my NBN installation was an experience I’d prefer to forget. 15 missed appointments and sub-standard speeds

  • superman2144 2144Superman (@superman2144) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus @networkoutage why is my nbn not working at Cumberland Rd, Auburn 2144 ...

  • markc Mark Cohen (@markc) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus response to six hours with no service after four calls to various customer service no’s, two store visits and multiple emails… eh, try again tomorrow

  • Slacko_Mitch Mitchell Vladamotte (@Slacko_Mitch) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@MissCBella @Telstra That’s shit service! I wish I was surprised though. I was just looking at Optus plans. They have free phone upgrades after 12 months. I’d switch if you could. Optus coverage where I live is just as good.

  • paloappie Chelsea Feltham (@paloappie) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus I need some help from someone who isn’t totally incompetent. I’ve been without internet for a couple of weeks now and I’m getting the run around from your call centres once again (this seems to be a regular occurrence) and I’m about ready to make a complaint to the TIO

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • AusGovSlave AusGovSlave (@AusGovSlave) reported

Optus wasn't attacked, Optus left a test network open to the public, that's negligence. A five year old could of stumbled across the url. #auspol

  • nshady Nick Schaedel 🏳️‍🌈 (@nshady) reported

It really feels like there should be government-imposed penalties when a giant telecom leaks 10m people’s home addresses, IDs, and other personal info. I don’t get why Optus can just go, “yeah our bad, watch out in case you now get scammed”, and that’s… it?

  • rushed_tweets Meaghan Rush (@rushed_tweets) reported

@Optus So, as an effected customer of the breach, I’m just supposed to watch my accounts for any shady activity? What compensation am I getting for this ****? Your lack of security has caused a great deal of stress and anxiety, and it’s just an “oops, we’re sorry”? What ********?

  • prafxis raf (@prafxis) reported

Love trying to login to Optus to change my password and it still does that thing where it downloads an "authorize" file instead

  • steleki255 Stephen Teleki (@steleki255) reported

@TheProselytiser @KatherineDeves_ @SkyNewsAust I’m also an Optus customer. This was bound to happen, all this info is unwarranted

  • DownUnder_Dude DownUnder (@DownUnder_Dude) reported

@TomSear Okay, let's say there are valid national security reasons for validating who is using such a service. Once the validation check is complete, and Optus/Telsra/... got your name/details in your system, why do they need to keep copies of these documents?

  • moatybuns Sarah 🐇 (@moatybuns) reported

@stevosplace01 @cameronwilson Ugh, I don't know....my first phone was with Telstra & they were so awful I changed to Optus & haven't had any issues for nearly 20 years up until now 😮‍💨 they're the only 2 options really, so not sure what to do.... How do you know you've been breached?

  • TonyCinema Tony Jones (@TonyCinema) reported

@GlennHampson I'm thinking about quitting Optus Glenn. Piss poor service for starters.

  • AnthonyW_AU Anthony W (@AnthonyW_AU) reported

@TheCynicalHun If current customer demand Optus release you with no financial penalties. Leave them in numbers. We need a way we can have our previous information removed from companies like this. When is the next class action going to be taken out on Optus.

  • KafkaVoltaire Candide (@KafkaVoltaire) reported

To be clear: @Optus data breach was made far worse by: Not having a clear, well communicated response to customers & to their frontline staff & by a CEO who basically said: ~You are on your own watch out for ID fraud, change your ID docs ~It is everyone's problem #auspol
