@joshgnosis That last line in 72. is interesting... because individuals can't make a complaint about Optus to the OAIC. The OAIC directs all complaints about telecommunications to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO).

@joshgnosis @beneltham I’ve been an @Optus customer since they started. I’m still waiting for them to contact me directly by email about the breach. How long does it take?!!

Hey @Optus next time I'm late on paying my bill, just hang tight, it'll be on it's way. Let's negotiate if you want my business moving forward. The hack is unfortunate, I get that. You control your communication with customers which is subpar based on information stolen.

@paul_football @JamesK_1312 @Optus I’ve updated my passwords, however beyond that I have no idea what else to do. Best I can tell, someone now has enough information about me to potentially cause some real problems. Is that about right ?

@cameronwilson Interesting. When this happens overseas, the company has offered free identity protection services. Apparently, Optus aren't providing this and the extent of their support is only to let you know you're on your own for their mistake.

As one of the customers confirmed as having their ID, including drivers licence details stolen, the best Optus can do to help me is to send a link to a website which advises I cancel my debit and credit cards, and suspend credit reporting companies. I'll live on what, exactly?

The Optus hack has brought to light how much data we have to hand over for any given service. Time for a shake up and it should start with government regulations and rules around how long data should be stored for. #optushack #datasecurity #righttoprivacy

Seems that I’m a bit slow on the uptake, but I’ve just come across an email that @Optus sent me yesterday about the cyber attack. To say I’m concerned is an understatement. To top it off, the next email I opened up was my bill. Could be time for a new provider. #OptusHack
