I love finding out that hackers have likely stolen all of my personal information at midnight, cos now I have to figure out what ******** to do about that. Also in case you missed it (like I did) Optus got hacked on Thursday and they stole 11 million peoples information 🙃

  • TRr4M1
    TRr4M (@TRr4M1) reported

@Optus "upon discovering this, optus immediately shut down the attack" ***** 11.2 million API calls don't happen "immediately"

And when I say personal information, I mean drivers licences, passport numbers, Medicare numbers. Basically whatever you used for 100 point ID to sign up to Optus they stored for some stupid reason (legally they’re only supposed to keep it for as long as verification takes)

@ClareONeilMP Clare the federal govt agencies need to do more to help victims in response to this egregious attack and Optus needs to foot the bill. Licence, passport, Medicare numbers and other 100 point ids info needs to be changed. This is only way to prevent identity theft and fraud.

Day 4 and our NBN broadband home internet service has stopped working again. No internet for desktop computer or home phone. More angry with Optus this morning instead of being happy with them.Where would I rate Optus at the moment - 0 out of 10.

@ianbfarquhar @LeftGemini Probably telecommunications law re: who is responsible for what happens on that service. If suddenly that phone starts sending hate texts to a specific person or uploading nasty videos, Optus will know who it is & be able to assist authorities, under warrant of course.

Bad service, slow at fixing their customers problems and being negligent by failing to secure their network which allowed it to be cyber attacked by hackers who now have access to over 9 million Optus customers details.

  • gavinnouwens
    Gavin Nouwens (@gavinnouwens) reported

@SenSHenderson @SkyNewsAust Given that this 'hack' now appears to be a total failure from Optus leaving the door wide open to customer data, we should be pushing for legislation that punishes companies that do the wrong thing. Would you support this?

  • wewatchu2
Dan On Stolen Land (@wewatchu2) reported

@victoria_racing I had a weird one from a service group but to do with Kogan lack of service. Can't see Optus in this unless someone is listening. Or reading..all I want is an app fix. Not paying for fixing freeview

Anyone who was an Optus customer during the period of the hack can plainly see that it’s very real simply by the sheer uptick in spam calls and texts we are now receiving #OptusHack
