@grbradbury That would mean legislative requirements being amended and there is a very strong chance this will happen. Optus were required (by law) to retain the information.......BUT the information should have been kept secure; this is Optus' problem.

  • Dudebank 🚁🌏🌱💧🌊BrendanDwyer #Veteran, DOB: 321.4ppm (@Dudebank) reported

@vogrady2132 Or of Paul Fletcher accepting recommendations from his previous employer, Optus, to not enforce better privacy & security of customer info/data.

  • AdHominum Adrian (@AdHominum) reported

@CopperbeardTom That sucks man. I swapped to optical a couple of months ago after years of inner west pain (old infrastructure), and it’s been great, but doesn’t help you. Hope Optus can sort it out.

  • Poupon123 Kym (@Poupon123) reported

Seriously just right now got a message from OPTUS…. Saying my license number had been compromised… Exceptional service… but assure me my bank account details are secure… yeah right.

  • Philssay Question (@Philssay) reported

Dreyfus said on insiders that optus treat personal info as an asset. What about ID for mygov and centerlink. The network of private information, bank accounts, medical and addresses . Why is it ok for the govt to have all this data but not optus. Wait till the govt gets hacked

  • Lani_ba_nani ThingsLaniSaid (@Lani_ba_nani) reported

@Optus how are ex customers meant to contact you about the breach? I have heard nothing from you and am overseas so cannot call. Or, as an ex customer, use the app.

  • tg_greg TG (@tg_greg) reported

@sean_batt @MoarToast Ok that interesting. Sort of a double check. In Australia to my knowledge your DL number stays with you for life. If your DL number data has been stolen it means every customer needs a new DL number and thus a new card number as well. Optus and will weasel out of this if they can

  • HorrorFetishArt Tavendale 🇺🇦 (@HorrorFetishArt) reported

@Optus I've been a customer of yours for years....I haven't received any communication as to whether or not my details have been stolen... This isn't very reassuring.

  • William33811161 William T (@William33811161) reported

@7NewsMelbourne Its getting annoying that @AlboMP team just calls out problems but offer no solutions. Optus data breach - what are you doing. Cost of living crisis - what are you doing. Inflation out of control - what are you doing. Election campaigns over Albo Government is your job now. @smh

  • Seagullrm Robert Mason (@Seagullrm) reported

Federal Minister Clare O'Neill had a crack at Optus about their lack of transparency. I'm not going to defend Optus, but given O'Neill is the member of a Govt wanting people to support a Voice to Parliament, without providing full details, she can't adopt the high moral ground.
