Getting NBN today, finally I can have an already outdated internet service!

@HyperionPlays @NBN_Australia My rule of management is “Blame falls Up”. It’s not the field techs fault, it’s the people above him in charge of training, planning, scheduling and QC. If he is an irreparable, untrainable **** up, then it is managements problem for not firing him and deploying him.

Neil Killick (@neil_killick) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@StoneAdam @iiNet @eatdrinkwatch Yup, ombudsman is the way to go. This always happens with a connection fault - the provider blames NBN and vice versa, no one accountable, no one resolves the issue. You will get it resolved once the TIO is involved, and decent compensation.

  • Cram3073
Craig Morgan (@Cram3073) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@Telstra this is getting ridiculous with the outage in my area #3073 now we are out until the 24th June because some contractor stuffed up and dug the wrong cable. This started the week you sent me a modem to use on the #nbn once it’s activated but not giving

@vogrady2132 @RobbiePHannan @Bukumbooee @NickRossTech @delpjm @Kynes3 @Lellane @ABCmediawatch @Commsday @StevejCbr @jonaholmes48 Oh it’s great out in North Balwyn. Numerous addresses in our str have Telstra connections but don’t appear on NBN list. I got address added after a query at NBN booth in Doncaster. Then it disappeared, got it back but NBN site says no service till next May - next door has NBN!

@CherylCritchley @joffaboy66 @Honxqp NBN classic example. Original ALP concept was big, futureproof. Then Turnbull got hold of it and slashed it down to the mess we have today

  • fbib
Henry Sutanto (@fbib) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@Telstra when I was connected with cable, I can stream anything with no problem, since changed to NBN streaming live sport is horrible!

  • millionsofmyles
Myles Harris (@millionsofmyles) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@MarekRivers No. You'd have new NBN owned hardware etc if you had. It's not just switching over. It's contesting to an entirely new network and NBNCo provide you hardware to do it.

@MoeycQ @ManicMunday @OfficialSnypeR @Aussie_BB To a point that's true. I recently had an outage on my iPrimus line but my TPG was functioning perfectly. This at least skirts the issue if individual provider problems. But yeah if it's NBN you're ****** LOL

  • northonm31
Adam Corcoran (@northonm31) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

Hi @Aussie_BB. Aware there was an outage earlier today, however we still have no connection on our devices from our NBN connection via wifi. Have tried powering modem off and on again with no results. Postcode: 3056. Please advise.

@DwdDave @adambroach "Old" Aussie broadband - 120M down, 4M up. When I "upgrade" to the NBN, I'll have 100M down, 20M up, for $40 more a month. I have to upgrade by the end of next year, though not in much hurry.

@Optus NBN Internet has been stuffed all day can’t get any websites fetch not working Netflix list goes on. #optus #nbn #outage

  • Uberstooks
Amber (@Uberstooks) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

With most people having to transfer to the awful @NBN_Australia, we should NOT have to pay for the set up costs. We didn’t want this watered down useless service and should not be punished financially. My cable internet even on its bad days shits all over the NBN.

  • AntB77
Ant (@AntB77) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@jendudley Same boat though as you, I get about 120mpbs down in peak on cable. Only my upstream would improve with nbn

@Sheeds_au 5G - Cabled NBN to residentialwill be a white elephant. The core system might only be used by Service Providers to link back bone systems, and I think Australian tax payers, paid for it. Let's spend money so companies can bill us. #Howgoodisaustralia

Hi @Optus been trying to get in touch with your agents online via LiveChat. Still having poor NBn connection and can’t really use mobile data for all our accounts. Hope you can help!

  • JarrodWeir

God dammit @Telstra. My cable internet has been down since Friday! Up until tonight, no outage has shown up on the outages site, although that’s NBN and says scheduled maintainance. On top of that, for some reason 4G is running at 2Mbps.

  • Uberstooks
Amber (@Uberstooks) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@Alcove7 @NBN_Australia Yeah, nah thanks. If they force us to use it, they need to cover those ‘set up’ fees. And we still have the worst internet in the world

@jamiemgalea All the blue lights are on so the NBN box looks to be working correctly. If there was a flashing red light it's an actual NBN issue. Double check the cables, I know I had a couple different coloured ones come with the box and modem. A yellow ethernet cable in particular.

  • KirstiMiller30
    Kirsti Miller (@KirstiMiller30) reported

They promised NBN delivered cheaper and faster. In support of this they censored official costs, including estimates and actual spend as well as lying about costs under the previous government.

  • matt88

@R_Chirgwin @alexkidman It's behind a paywall so I can't read it. I hope that it also takes a crack at Murdoch putting pressure on the Govt to make the NBN fail. Any fool knows that FTTH was the only way to go for the future now we are paying double for it. Turnbull loved Murdoch back then & took orders

  • RayColl97052523

Interesting reading in the FOI papers regarding the LNP's NBN rollout. Just another ****-up that we taxpayers have to pay for. Labor's fibre to the node would have been 5 billion cheaper & world-class. Morrison & the LNP ****-up everything they touch.

  • VictoriaFreshy
    Victoria (@VictoriaFreshy) reported

@peggymel2001 LNP lied about Labor's FTTP NBN (that it was designed on a coaster). Lied again that their multi-tech mix would be "cheaper, faster". LNPs proposed $29B has blown out to $50B & still rising. Fletcher now proposing to spend further $3billion to extend FIBRE network. #FederalICAC

@kayosports_help you guys really need to look at how Supercars is being streamed consistent buffering every 10 seconds on an NBN 100 plan. Zero issues with any other sports

  • docbaty
    Steve 'Doc' Baty (@docbaty) reported

[I am connected via NBN at my home. I was recently informed that, due to the use of copper wire to connect my house to the NBN fibre network, we would never get faster than 100Mb/s speeds. Ever. (A 5G connection runs at 800Mb/s. Fibre would be even faster.)]
