Just got off the phone with my ISP's tech support and they reckon it will be a 4 - 8 hour downtime. They couldn't gather additional info from the NBN either (Who announced the unscheduled downtime.), which isn't really good news.

@NBN_Australia @southeastwater @BaysideCouncil Consider this the report. I wont be sitting on hold for 45 minutes and speaking to someone in Malaysia about problems in Australia that won't get looked at. This whole street has copped it. Litterally all of your hardware is underwater. Do what you will with this information 🤝🏼

The greatest irony is seeing the outcome of the LNP's substandard NBN delivery in their poor videoconference connections to parliament. #auspol

@NBN_Australia Thanks Jo, spoke to Optus, they logged a call with #nbn and the issue has been resolved.

Ok geeks help a dinosaur. I need to choose NBN for home and am considering taking up a streaming service for tv/movies. I’ve narrowed it down to Telstra and Aussie. Can anyone help me make a decision? #NBN

  • _TimMcMahon

@vertikar @NBN_Australia @Telstra The irony in Telstra workers having Optus and Vodafone services for continuity just in case nbn and Telstra mobile go down. 😬

@thatone0022 @PRGuy17 Wouldn't be hilarious if NBN Co just happened to be doing network maintenance in the area!!

@Telstra You just put my nbn bill up. I can’t cancel within contract without a penalty but you can put prices up. When the contract expires you will lose a 20 year customer. Mobile and internet. So long. Never to return

@WillTaylorNZ @NBN_Australia @iiNet Yea that’s not a good term. It’s basically mobile broadband caught by a modem and turned into a wifi signal

@leachitup @RWBFooty @zerohanger Just remember Dylan it’s your home Internet or the NBN causing these issues.

  • TheBlackWallaby
    Lucas | 🇦🇺 (@TheBlackWallaby) reported

@australian Even Tesla is made in China, so what is the actual issue here? This was sent from my Mac Mini, made in China, sitting on a desk made in China, connected to the NBN through a Wi-Fi gateway made in China, typed from my Logitech keyboard, made in China, while I sit in an office chair made in China, looking at a Samsung monitor made in, checks notes, Vietnam. At some point the argument has to get more precise than “China bad.” If the concern is connected vehicles, telemetry, firmware access, data storage, or fleet security for MPs, then make that argument properly and apply it consistently across all networked devices. But pretending Chinese EVs are uniquely suspicious while half the modern office supply chain is already Chinese-made is not analysis. My iPhone (made in China) is connected to my Apple Auto - driving me around tracking me on a GPS map, with a microphone that works, and the Head Unit (made in China) Where does it end?

@DaveMcG67 @Ausbobsmit @lauren_vasiliou Like Snowy 2 you mean started by LNP at a cost of $2B now estimated at $42B an LNP project or the NBN which cost us $110B more under Abbott& Turnbull for a far inferior service.Neither the right or left r great project managers.

@ItsMissShorty @robb_j_m When people refer to NBN/Internet as “WiFi” they’re absolutely Luddites or just too lazy to know what they have/need and don’t deserve any help from those who might.

  • RocKM16827690
    RocK_M (@RocKM16827690) reported

@grave0x @robb_j_m AFAIK There is no "free roll out" of FTTP. If you are on an FTTN network the homeowner has the "choice" to fork out money for the property to be upgraded to FTTP. If you are on the Coax/HFC network you are **** out of luck as the best NBN can do is try increase line bandwidth

  • CarmelFay
    Carmel Fay (@CarmelFay) reported

@robb_j_m Starlink. A satellite connection through the NBN in our rural area was a bit of a nightmare. Starlink is reliable, no limits on usage, and we never get throttled. I'll never go back.

  • moresunshine_1
    John Cas (@moresunshine_1) reported

@eevblog I had a client - I/net not working. Discovered it was the whole building. 2 NBN tech, different calls: we can't fix it. I got the building mgt to show me the "gear" in the basement room. The power supply was cold. Checked power board. We flicked a breaker on that was off. Win!

  • BluntHonesty4

@trsrpc Because the NBN rollout is a god damn joke and embaressment to the country.

  • Adakole2Francis

@Chude_ND1 @CCSoludo If e sure for them make they try this kind nonsense where NBN dy do their national Convention. Kegite is never and has never been a violent group.

  • eevblog
    Dave Jones (@eevblog) reported

@asphotos Science isn't going to help when the system is clogged because the NBN is down and many thousands of people are trying to find workarounds. Telstra in the park has collapsed, and Optus is struggling.
