-
James Hutcheon (@hutcho66) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@taipan168 And Telstra only faces minimum service guarantees in a very small component of the business where they continue to hold assets that used to be owned by the government. That's shrinking over time as the NBN buys out the copper.
-
✨ Miss Natski ✨ (@Natski82) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@Jane_L_Kennedy @Telstra And of course he believed it, afterall, the people at telstra told him the NBN called. 6 hours they kept him on the phone and ended up costing my dad $19,000. Absolutely ridiculous and when he called telstra, they didn't give a ****. Switched to optus. Safer /3

アルちゃま🦋✡️🗝️🎀🛸💫💎🧨🥊🐸🍭 (@AL88MZ) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaJust got off the phone with my ISP's tech support and they reckon it will be a 4 - 8 hour downtime. They couldn't gather additional info from the NBN either (Who announced the unscheduled downtime.), which isn't really good news.
-
AJ Steel (@ajsteelofficial) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaIs anyone in #Reservoir having problems with their #optus #nbn connection?
-
K A Fielding (@KAFielding) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaSo, TPG needs the S/N number of my NBN box to problem solve why there’s no connection, but the S/N sticker is missing, and NBN wants me to call my internet provider, who can’t help me because I can’t give them the S/N number. Talk about going round in circles 🙄
-
Nikki Clare (@Niksterisms) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@Telstra can you please advise if there is any ongoing issue with the NBN in Kings Park Vic 3021 area. It’s been over 3 weeks now and it keeps dropping in and out. I’ve replaced a cord and it’s still happening. Thanks
-
Tim McMahon (@_TimMcMahon) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaI expected nbn to auto complete 161-169 Princes Hwy with either Lucknow or Bairnsdale and to say whether nbn is available. Because telcos need to know customer addresses. I didn't expect nbn to say whether an address has already been connected.
-
AJ Steel - Artist (@ajsteelofficial) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@NBN_Australia Thanks Jo, spoke to Optus, they logged a call with #nbn and the issue has been resolved.
-
s2art (@s2zart) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaUsing my iPhone 12 Pro to access the internet as my NBN Cable modem is down, since 07:30 @Optus
-
David Moore (@DavidMo70005810) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@Telstra You just put my nbn bill up. I can’t cancel within contract without a penalty but you can put prices up. When the contract expires you will lose a 20 year customer. Mobile and internet. So long. Never to return

Sangas? (@s_anag8) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@NBN_Australia Everything. Have contacted our provider. They say it’s an NBN issue. Unfortunately, we have to wait for a technician till Monday. Hoping somehow that it could be sooner rather then later?
-
George DeBono⚫️🟡⚫️🐅🏆 (@debge01) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaWorking from home would be so much easier if we had a reliable internet service - the @NBN_Australia is a borderline 3rd world service - I get almost hourly drop outs
-
Whimsical🇦🇺 (@whimsical523456) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@JEChalmers You aren't creating any new private sector jobs. You aren't even investing in the private sector with public companies anymore. The last one was the ****** NBN a full generation ago now. ***** sake! Found some ******* publically owned companies and show you actually ******* support growing the economy. AND GET RID OF CGT AND INCOME TAX! Hike the GST if you need to keep the revenue the same.
-
r3toric (@r3toric) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@NBN_Australia @southeastwater @BaysideCouncil Consider this the report. Litterally all of your hardware is underwater. Do what you will with this information 🤝🏼

-
daniel (@daniel647543) reported@techAU @robb_j_m It didn't work for everyone. I'm 1.5km by road from my exchange and yet everyone here has ****** wireless NBN, which manages to be both more expensive and slower than Starlink, with somehow higher pings than sending a signal to space and back. Everyone has Starlink here now.
-
M (@imboudee) reported@Justme136160 @robb_j_m To be fair, David is not wrong. Telcos will use the NBN infrastructure as they see fit. It’s cheaper to pay to use the NBN infrastructure that is already there than to lay down their own fibre. In fact, telcos like Optus and Telstra are already NBN providers.
-
Wesley Van Der Wit (@aussi3dutchman) reported@TheJawnzz @robb_j_m You were on a **** deal you can get 100mb/s NBN for $500/year. Shop around, look for deals.
-
Jim Stewart (@jimboot) reported@eevblog @Aussie_BB Been on on Starlink maybe 5 years. I can remember one outage because of a Solarflare. Wireless NBN was every other day. Good old Govt again
-
Tze-wei Chong 🇦🇺🧢 (@Tze_C) reported@GeoffWilsonWAM @theAZtrader @ausgov Fully agree. Other than new property development which should still be benefit for housing supply. Poor structural reform that will impact future generations and brain drain Australia. Funding via NDIS / NBN restructure would have been far easier and more beneficial
-
peter rowe (@Prowerock1) reported@AvidCommentator I have abandoned NBN. Service is atrocious as it is mediated through the Telcos. You can’t get to an NBN tech directly. They cancelled five appointments made for me via Telstra saying not an NBN problem. But it was just like the other three times. Now have Telstra 5 G. So simple
-
Steve (@JarOfSteve) reported@algorithmsayshi Tried clearing app cache ? Could be using CGNAT as well. Getting a static IP from ISP could fix the issue. Also, you could try turning off the NBN box for twenty minutes to see if you can pick up a new IP that's not flagged.
-
Natasha (@Natasha19317558) reported@AlanBixter I’m not a hater but I can’t decide if I hate Medibank Private or Telstra / NBN more? Telstra / NBN sent 15 techies to fix our Internet problem & many phone calls all while our kids doing Uni exams & 1 wtg for cardiac surgery. Stress ++ Good luck Alan coz you’ll need it 🙏
-
Samuel ⏳ (@osborne_sam) reported@ItsMissShorty @robb_j_m Just want to help you with your terminology. Wifi (802.11x) is free, it’s the technology between the router/modem and your device. NBN or Internet service provider is the ongoing cost. You can use NBN and not use Wifi, you plug a network cable between the router and your computer. If you hotspot your phone or have a 5G hotspot device, that still uses Wifi between that device and the other devices connected to it. You’re still using Wifi if you have multiple devices using the mobile data. All you’ve changed is the internet connection from being NBN (which is typically fibre, phone line, or point to point wireless (not WiFi) - and maybe the latter is what you go rid of and have conflated the two different wireless technologies. Considering you are likely still using Wifi, and now also 5G, health benefits aren’t improved. A healthier alternative is NBN or Starlink and cable connection (but obviously phones and many devices don’t support cables).

anthony, underclass prole cat, edwards (@anthony45052793) reported@robb_j_m abandoned nbn fixed wireless service, so many outages, so many years paying for speeds they could not deliver, local shop could not run eftpos over it, even on a business plan. i'm on starlink now, stable, fast and only $9 a month more than nbn for 4 times the speed.
