NBN Issues Reports Near Glen Iris, State of Victoria

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Glen Iris and nearby locations:

  • Hutton_Lab Craig Hutton (@Hutton_Lab) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@DuttonChemistry @sjwill99 @gnljameson @p_schwerdtfeger A tangential issue, but Oz can never do online teaching properly with our half-baked NBN. 5 people in my house trying to do live sessions on Zoom/Teams through a single (newly laid) coaxial cable doesn’t work. We are ‘lagging’ in so many ways.

  • KazzaWilly Kazz Rose (@KazzaWilly) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Very sorry I went with @TPG_Telecom for my NBN. Their Customer Service is in impossible to deal with!

  • _KGreally Kate (@_KGreally) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

The line is physically broken since @NBN_Australia was installed and no one has been sent to fix it

  • ellisoconnor 😷Champagne Dame of Oz 🥂 (@ellisoconnor) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@selga55 Yes as it was a condition of our NBN but we never answer it

  • Valki19047234 Valki/ Anthony Constant 54 p15/a14/m11 (@Valki19047234) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Due to no Nbn yet, Telstra are going to prove me with a NETGEAR Nighthawk M2 mobile broadband device and temporary mobile broadband service at no cost. If it arrives before com day I will go live.

  • NickJohnstone2 Nick Johnstone (@NickJohnstone2) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Dude rings me on the phone and says he is here to fix our NBN which drops out intermittently 228 times a day and says “can you come out and open the gate” , I say “it’s not locked, slide it to the right”, he says “ no I can’t open it”. That’s confidence thanks Telstra!

  • AntKaplan Can’t. Busy washing my hands. (@AntKaplan) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@jono_hayward Gosh they’re expensive. I’d look at Spintel if I were you. Their website UI is simply the worst, but I’m really happy with my NBN service through them, and they have fantastic pricing.

  • NickJohnstone2 Nick Johnstone (@NickJohnstone2) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Hey @rohan_connolly , we had a NBN tech come to our home and he couldn’t workout how to open an unlocked sliding gate. I wasn’t hopeful of a fix after that. And it wasn’t! Pathetic

  • Hutton_Lab Craig Hutton (@Hutton_Lab) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia Thanks for the tips @NBN_Australia, but the support I really needed was fibre to the premise! New coax was laid in my street to do HFC. FTTP would not have cost much more. There are physical limitations to copper and it can only be optimized so much.

  • judgejosie jo girl (@judgejosie) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Jesus. I wouldn't trust any of the LNP with an app that stores my data. The NBN still hasn't arrived here and I am told it sucks.

  • AdisaLumi Lumi Adisa, PhD (@AdisaLumi) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

So, as it turns out, @NBN_Australia has come into my area connecting everyone pretty much except us. The most frustrating part is the disconnection of our ongoing ADSL service without ANY indication of when we'll be connected. Spent almost 2 hours talking to @NBN_Australia...

  • gobergmoser Gabriel Bergmoser (@gobergmoser) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Top work from @VodafoneIN: postponing our NBN connection leaving our internet a crawl, not connecting on the rescheduled day (no explanation) and ensuring that their hold music is excruciating and populated with the same irritating messages to make you want to hang up. Brilliant.

  • JohnnyLydon jk (@JohnnyLydon) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@WScetrine @abcnews What he did to the nbn was equivalent to using the worn out parts of old Holdens to build new cars to save money. Utterly stupid shortsighted and in the long run a waste of money. M

  • travelphotos Travel Photos by Andrew (@travelphotos) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia I have reported the issue multiple times for each occasion.

  • suburbiageddon Suburbiageddon (@suburbiageddon) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Only thing worse than no internet is slow & intermittent internet, been baud 14400 most of the day 😡😡 #nbn #tpg #uurrgghh

  • davecalmercoach DavidTheCalmerCoach (@davecalmercoach) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Well finally @NBN_Australia is working. After realising I was trying to login to the wrong wifi connection now I have to say currently it’s #awesome ... Let’s hope and pray (I’m not religious by the way) that it stays as good... 👏🏻

  • travelphotos Travel Photos by Andrew (@travelphotos) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Aussie_BB @NBN_Australia Done, a few times this weekend for only some of the many times the service went down.

  • mxmbt2 mxmbt2 (@mxmbt2) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Kogan @ruslankogan Our #koganinternet nbn hasn’t worked properly since Saturday. Keeps dropping out and slowing. 1300 010 400 doesn’t connect! Please help!

  • spudhowley spudgun (@spudhowley) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia ..pretty critical service, without having any say in the matter, is extremely frustrating. We just want our old Cable back.

  • EFCcorrespond The Correspondent🔴⚫ (@EFCcorrespond) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus yet another nbn outage in Thornbury 3071... Can I have cable back please!!

  • Zaphod1954 Stan T Man (@Zaphod1954) reported

@Telstra Another wasted day because Telstra stuffs up the NBN - again. Don’t these people understand that during covid millions are working from home. A stable infrastructure is vital. No concept of customer experience.

  • TPG_Telecom TPG (@TPG_Telecom) reported

@AravindVw Hi, unfortunately, NBN is still not accepting new orders for NBN HFC service. Would you mind sending us a DM with your customer ID so we can check if we have new updates on this service for you? -Mel

  • tbapb5 PB001 (@tbapb5) reported

@NBN_Australia So as it turns out today it was an NBN line issue and speeds have returned from 13-35mbps. Amazing! Shows that there are no checks & balances in place for any of this- not NBN nor the provider. My provider had dismissed my issue as a re-boot modem issue, never checked the line!

  • billjoemick Michael Brennan (@billjoemick) reported

@ALeighMP @mrjoeaston Equivalent to defence budget or enough to rebuikd their laughable NBN network, to provide fibre optics to just about every home in Australia, including in the bush!

  • Jana92038429 Jana Jegathesan (@Jana92038429) reported

@NBN_Australia Hi @NBN_Australia I understand these issues may effect the speed. But that's ridiculous. We've never had speed that slow. And we paying hard earned money for speed and connection as promised. On a bad day might be about 15 to 20 Mbps which is fine. But 1.5 is terrible

  • sid_verma Sid Verma (@sid_verma) reported

@Telstra I m know exactly what they are. It was to highlight that I’m chewing through my mobile data month after month because my NBN continues to drop gazillion times a day ….. and it’s been 3 months of talking to Texh Support and nothing is fixed still.

  • bsathishsingh sathishkumar bagavathsingh (@bsathishsingh) reported

@NBN_Australia That is the not so great reply I ever got from a vendor who I have purchased a product with.. I did not have any contract with my service provider but only with you. If I am reporting an issue the best thing for you to help is either you can check the reasons for this issue..

  • Optus Optus (@Optus) reported

@Jana92038429 Hi there - Sorry for any confusion. The info I gave was for home Internet/NBN and not mobile. Can you please DM us again and we can discuss the network works - Aman

  • patrick78746239 P4trick (@patrick78746239) reported

@NBN_Australia my connection is dropping out every 10 minutes. Technician said there was transmission issue in my area (west pennant hills NSW) Can I ask when the problem can be fixed. I need internet for work.

  • dave_w77 Dave Wiltshire (@dave_w77) reported

New scam I haven't heard before so just alerting people: - automated call pretending to be from Australia's NBN. - targeting users who have Telstra phone and internet service - saying that the service has to be updated to NBN (unsure how they make money I didn't get that far).
