NBN Issues Reports Near Glen Iris, State of Victoria

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Glen Iris and nearby locations:

  • maartenijzerman Maarten IJzerman (@maartenijzerman) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Telstra how long do I have to wait for my NBN internet? Ordered early February, spent at least 10 hours on the phone with 8 service agents, have been using the smart app since 17 June to chat with >15 agents, receive bills for Premium internet and all I get is <0.1 mbps...

  • BenSorensen1 Ben Sorensen (@BenSorensen1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@DaviesDasher @NBN_Australia Because long term you still need to get rid of the copper... you can’t do any upgrades and copper slows the whole network. Copper is already working at capacity. It’s just deferring the expense rather than the cheaper option of doing it right the first time.

  • rehanrazach Raza (@rehanrazach) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Telstra seems like outage? When I try to ring 132200 it say due to emergency agents are not available. My NBN is down and 4G failover too.

  • VonBitchPants ฿Ø₲ ₩ł₮₵Ⱨ (@VonBitchPants) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mickjoebill I dunno what to say...we just changed the network cable to a second port on our NBN box as Aussie Broadband told us to and it was an instant change in speed after the router was rebooted 🤷

  • klatchfo95 K A Latchford (@klatchfo95) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@simonahac @NBN_Australia @Telstra Good luck It took 10 times until they finally came Technicians are fantastic when they arrive but can’t say the same for the organisation and support structures Need to do better Andy Penn

  • jaejtee jords (@jaejtee) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Telstra NBN team have now confirmed no order was sent by Telstra to them on their records for my address - extremely terrible service from Telstra again, wouldn’t have even known if I hadn’t asked

  • trevorpvas trevorvas (@trevorpvas) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Telstra @NBN_Australia WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 2 months to make this work time to fix it or let me out of the contract #desperate

  • BenSorensen1 Ben Sorensen (@BenSorensen1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Backoff11111 @NBN_Australia As the ads tell you... intent is only slow or a problem if you use it.

  • BenSorensen1 Ben Sorensen (@BenSorensen1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@BrowntownBrew @DaviesDasher @NBN_Australia And TPG/Voda are using cheaper Nokia tech and being cheeky with placment. 5G is better than broken NBN, but you’re right that we need proper fibre!

  • BenSorensen1 Ben Sorensen (@BenSorensen1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@DaviesDasher @NBN_Australia So it’s cheaper as it isn’t even close to working at capacity - and once it’s in that’s it. Light based tech is way more versatile, and we need to dig up the copper anyway. Slow expensive internet also kills business.

  • BenSorensen1 Ben Sorensen (@BenSorensen1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@DaviesDasher @NBN_Australia Malcoms option looked cheaper on paper because it was wrong... it’s now blown out to way more than the origional Labor costing. Cheap now, and best value long term are different. And we picked the worst of everything.

  • KateMurdoch3 Kate Murdoch (@KateMurdoch3) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia Yes, we’ve had technicians coming for 1.5 years and little progress. I’ve been told need to organise through Telstra but they have no customer service atm. Outside work done, but can’t seem to connect to house.

  • trevorpvas trevorvas (@trevorpvas) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia @Telstra you need to get a tech person to help set us up our patience is at an end

  • elee_bella Ella Lee (@elee_bella) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@julessz71 @Channel10AU Bring on the NBN, so I can avoid commercial tv’s poor time management skills, inconsistency, and stream everything.

  • aussieaubs aussieaubs (@aussieaubs) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Telstra you are a disgraceful disappointment to customer service. #fail I’ve just spent 5 days trying to get my #nbn connection resolved and your people in the app keep closing the chat window and passing me to another person. Utter rubbish #telstrafail

  • cpjones44 Chris Jones (@cpjones44) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Just had a storm go through. @NBN_Australia has dropped out. I will reiterate what I've said so many times - the network is such a technological disaster that has wasted billions of tax payers dollars and set this country back 20 years #fail #nbn #outage

  • dooglelover Phil Maude (@dooglelover) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

And it seems since I got the NBN connected the wifi is down till Monday. Monday? Is this for real.

  • KateMurdoch3 Kate Murdoch (@KateMurdoch3) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@clairegcoleman @NBN_Australia I’m astounded you’re getting any NBN service at all. I can only go through Telstra for it, and they’re not answering calls for the foreseeable.

  • BenSorensen1 Ben Sorensen (@BenSorensen1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia I’ve actually had some amazing speed results (both up and down) using the 4G/LTE phone network... I got it as a backup for the failing NBN and it’s comparatively amazing and cheaper. And it didn’t cost Australia $51 billion.

  • BenSorensen1 Ben Sorensen (@BenSorensen1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@DaviesDasher @NBN_Australia I’m saying we spend to fix the issues so it works properly rather than spend on marketing to cover it up. Although returning it with the receipt for a full refund is a good idea. $51 billion for the 43rd fastest internet that already is past its used by date is crazy.

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • OfficialPalap Palap (@OfficialPalap) reported

@NBN_Australia (2/5) When engaging with the ISP's and performing their “monitoring” they come back as service is good despite the packet loss occurring. I have countless screenshots of packet loss going well above 5% within a 10 minute span that they are refusing to accept as evidence

  • DrHLShearer Heather @erica_sea55@mastodon.au (@DrHLShearer) reported

@noplaceforsheep I have a weird habit, likely because I'm #Neurodivergent of misreading single words, and I read this as Optus Dei...and thought, they're not *that* bad surely (actually, I use them for my mobile and NBN and their service is excellent...Optus that is, lol)

  • jofriendlytv jofriendlytv (@jofriendlytv) reported

Woke up to sweet internet. Actually cannot believe how fast NBN Co fixed the issue. I was expecting 72hours min. from my last experience! Tomorrow we are back on schedule. ✨SHINY PALKIA✨ Wednesdays. Bring your positivity and energy tomorrow we are starting from 5830 resets 🥲

  • SamNeale4419 Sam Neale (@SamNeale4419) reported

@7NewsMelbourne NBN will be better simply because it’s fibre-optic which beats wireless any day of the week. Also 5G rollout requires lots of new infrastructure so I fail to see how it would be cheaper. Especially considering the fact more cell towers are required due to the more limited range.

  • GreyTim Tim Grey (@GreyTim) reported

@yaakov_h @Optus Thanks for the tip. Just woken up for the 2nd day in a row to find our NBN router looking for a signal, and the Optus outage page telling me there's no issue at my address. I just Just checked the street though, and, lo & behold: "reduced service".

  • DocTimLindsay Tim Lindsay (@DocTimLindsay) reported

I don't know whether to be reassured or demoralised that @Telstra @NBN_Australia support is even worse than my UK provider. Why do so many corporations seem to be racing to the bottom of the customer support barrel? @Qantas is another Aussie company sadly leading the charge.

  • bigjsl John Lindsay (@bigjsl) reported

@BLShiv @nelso_adam Fibre was always going to be a problem for apartments. An aggressive user pays model makes abandoning the nbn and moving to 5G wireless an easier choice than wasting time & incurring expense trying to fix a broken FTTB service.

  • OfficialPalap Palap (@OfficialPalap) reported

@NBN_Australia (3/5) even though it exceeds the threshold. We run a small business from home and at this point it is too unreliable to use the service without it affecting our content creation, streaming and conferencing calls. We’ve tried countless solutions internally such as: changed ISP’s

  • Abdullah_Raouf AR 🇭🇲🇮🇶 (@Abdullah_Raouf) reported

@Optus When the @NBN_Australia issue will be resolved? I had no internet for 25 hours straight!!!!

  • CupacGeorge George Cupac (@CupacGeorge) reported

@Telstra Yes, when I visit my family in McKellar, I basically give up on my phone, it like dial-up speed. And and NBN doesn't work because the house is too far away.
