  • roseannebyrne 💧🌱pragmaticleftie 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇮🇪💔 (@roseannebyrne) reported from Kiama, State of New South Wales

@LesStonehouse @Telstra @Optus Oh He's. It does seem older folk were totally neglected in all of this. No NBN no phone. Cutoffs before they were ready. Expectations they'd understand it all. Neighbour is nearly 90 and it's been awful trying to keep him connected. All on his own.

  • StephenJonesMP Stephen Jones MP (@StephenJonesMP) reported from Wollongong, State of New South Wales

@choppers91 @RobOakeshott1 Hey Michael sorry for delay. Have asked my office to follow up on Monday. Rob, you’ve always been solid on NBN but simply not true that we are saying job done. We will inherit a mess. Don’t know the scale of it & won’t make reckless promise about time & cost to fix it.

  • cambuslangtrain John Roach (@cambuslangtrain) reported from Wollongong, State of New South Wales

@LesStonehouse Faithful to Telstra for 40 years despite our blind loyalty not being reciprocated in quality of service or pricing. Switched to Optus at NBN connection time some years back. Could not be happier with Optus!! Stuff Telstra "and all who ro(r)t in her!!"

  • Bente_Andersen1 Bente 🇦🇺🇳🇴🇩🇰 (@Bente_Andersen1) reported from Wollongong, State of New South Wales

Scott Morrison is trying to do what Turnball did with the NBN. Destroy the future and the environment by lying about the ESF. It has done nothing, it will never do anything except line their business cronies pockets.

  • MischNarracott Michelle Butterfield (@MischNarracott) reported from Wollongong, State of New South Wales

@Telstra I’m a patient person. However when my very elderly parents in Kiama are left without a land line for over 20 days & I discover that someone in @telstra or @nbn didn’t create a ‘Task ID’ for the third time in 3 weeks I reach a state of total frustration. Pls help.

  • iB3nji Ben (@iB3nji) reported from Wollongong, State of New South Wales

@DrRimmer @guytaur @smh It’s disappointing the Libs stuffed the NBN up in the first place. It’s a complete and utter mess now. Will be difficult to fix now.

  • iB3nji Ben (@iB3nji) reported from Wollongong, State of New South Wales

@TonyAbbottMHR We could say the same thing about you and your previous government when it comes to the shit NBN you built. What a disaster.

  • StephenJonesMP Stephen Jones MP (@StephenJonesMP) reported from Wollongong, State of New South Wales

@Gardevoir101 @AustralianLabor @MRowlandMP We’ve already announced our NBN Customer Service Guarantee. More to come.

  • AlexBrangwin Alexandria Brangwin (@AlexBrangwin) reported from Wollongong, State of New South Wales

@DoctorKarl Can't believe this was an election issue and everyone chose so poorly. @TurnbullMalcolm, @TonyAbbottMHR & @JoeHockey screwed Australian internet over for generations. #NBN #Fail

  • Jacqui_Wales Jacqueline Wales (@Jacqui_Wales) reported from Wollongong, State of New South Wales

Three minutes to go in the #NRLDragonsManly game and @FOXNRL on @Foxtel Play is dropping out. A shitty feed, or is it the shitty @NBN_Australia. We may never know.

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Gergyl Gerg (@Gergyl) reported

@BarryLi51767296 @innocent_abroad Yep, there was slowish ADSL2+ here too, on an old Telecom landline that had been in use for 50 years. NBN at first saw fit to replace that with slow, limited, expensive geosynchronous satellite. Not remote, just 16 km straight line from a major international airport!

  • parismarx Paris Marx (@parismarx) reported

I’m also skeptical of proposals to build a public network. We don’t need more infrastructure when it already exists, and Australia’s NBN shows what happens when you set out to build a public network, then a right-wing government gets elected and purposefully messes with it.

  • DobrinAnthony Anthony Dobrin (@DobrinAnthony) reported

@NBN_Australia As someone who works on resolving fixed wireless and satellite services and knows the ins and outs of NBN, I am annoyed that my HCF service still has the occasional disconnect and speed issues. The reported fix in the pit and constant maintenance every week annoys me.

  • BaldingPhillip Phill Balding (@BaldingPhillip) reported

@samstrades Author appears to be claiming Singapore is not west of the NT project.. but Sydney is? A lot seems wrong here Simply would have been like the NBN - gone over budget, get bad yield, eventually write down assets. Plus too many extra risks like cable down-time

  • LifesGood0067 Laura G (@LifesGood0067) reported

@callingoutfake5 @Telstra Our entire family has cancelled telstra. We moved all moved to Amaysim for mobiles and HarbourISP for nbn services. Both much better with service AND afterservice.

  • sofa_stream Sofa Stream (@sofa_stream) reported

@GreenJ @Telstra I switched from NBN to mobile 5G a while ago. It's cheaper and much much faster too. Never had an outage yet.

  • o_Matto Matto (not parody just sarcastic) (@o_Matto) reported

@Your_Avg_Punter Worse than that if he wasn’t involved in breaking the original vision for NBN it would have been easy to set up micro or community providers to so small population centres could service themselves.

  • Vladesch Vladesch (@Vladesch) reported

@GreenJ @Telstra A few people here suggesting a switch of ISP. That is unlikely to help. The problem is almost certain to be with the underlying NBN. You may be better opting out of the NBN entirely. I have fixed wireless (non NBN) and it's reliable and cheap.

  • mattchapmandraw mattchapmandraws (@mattchapmandraw) reported

@iiNet Hi I seem to have an outage. The nbn outage site says there are no outages detected in my area. I’m area code 3079. Cheers

  • place_of_jess Jessica (@place_of_jess) reported

@Optus I am on hour four trying to get my new NBN service set up and working. The systems your cust reps are struggling with are obvs terrible. How are you going to retain customers like this after the big data breach? Why would we stay?
