  • ollie_bo Ollie Roberts (@ollie_bo) reported from Hobart, State of Tasmania

@NBN_Australia An update: called @Optus who transferred us to @NBN_Australia who then told us that there is an outage in the Sandy Bay (Tasmania) area and that the internet would be on in 4 hours (9pm last night). 9pm has been and gone. Standard troubleshooting, eg reboot hardware, etc & nada!

  • ollie_bo Ollie Roberts (@ollie_bo) reported from Hobart, State of Tasmania

@Optus @NBN_Australia Currently on hold to Optus & online chat. We’ve been told the relocation request we put in doesn’t exist, even though it is in multiple chat threads with Optus who said they’d arrange this. They recognised that our service was previously working, just not with the speed boost WTF

  • feelingswell Robert Gavin (@feelingswell) reported from Hobart, State of Tasmania

@NBN_Australia @Farmgate138 I like that “experiencing some issues” have had NBN for some years now. We quickly found the baseline service was crap and upgraded to the next level - which is great when it works, but reading the fine print, NBN only warrant it will work for 2mins annually

  • TasGreg Greg C (@TasGreg) reported from Hobart, State of Tasmania

@BevanShields @AntonEnus "But has no modelling to support the claim" Just like Direct Action emission reduction or the cost of ALP NBN or the $660billion ALP debt blowout etc etc #FreePassToBS

  • anthony45052793 anthony, underclass prole cat, edwards (@anthony45052793) reported

@RavenZech2 yeah, really sucked for the people who had working adsl connections when they switched them off and they had to go with satellite internet because nbn co put the tower in the wrong location. my signal is bounced off a large metal barn roof as i dont have line of sight to tower.

  • ConnotD621 D.A. O’Connot (@ConnotD621) reported

@Boilers32 @harrisonjaime NBN. He’s the worst of the demons.

  • BillySisu Bill (@BillySisu) reported

@BazzaCC Now NBN has a good revenue stream, they are upgrading their network to Fibre to the Premises, as originally planned by Stephen Conroy, in lieu of the LNPs shonky Copper from the Node.

  • Spankyhunter Richard 🌻(spankyhunter) (@Spankyhunter) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@Telstra guess the outage is preparing for next week. Nbn goes down for grand finals No hope to actually watch it.

  • ultimablackmage Jean-Paul Bartolomei (@ultimablackmage) reported

NBN speed: 720/48mbps. YouTube Auto higher picture quality: 480p on a video with 2160p! @TeamYouTube fix your sh*t!

  • BrisVegasMale Peter (from BrisVegas) (@BrisVegasMale) reported

@BazzaCC On this point, I have to disagree I worked in Telco industry at time NBN was introduced KRudd hastily dreamed up the plan & costed it on the back of a napkin. In a country the size of Aus it was never possible But that’s the standard each subsequent effort has been held to

Australia’s debt . Things Jim Chalmers doesn’t talk about - off budget spending eg 1. National Broadband Network (NBN) and Snowy Hydro: The government is spending a significant amount on these major infrastructure projects, with $77.7 billion planned over four years for off-budget items. 2. While the total "off-budget" spending figure for Australia's net zero targets isn't explicitly provided, research from the Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) estimates federal spending on net zero has reached over $9 billion annually, with much of it being "off-budget" or embedded within larger programs and funds. This significant increase from previous decades suggests a considerable, though not precisely quantified, off-budget investment in the net zero transition. 3. •Total Cost Estimates: While the annual off-budget figure is not easily isolated, other sources like Net Zero Australia estimate the total cost for the entire economy to achieve net zero could reach $7 trillion to $9 trillion by 2060.  •Industrial Policy and Support Funds: The federal government has planned off-budget spending of $78 billion over four years on industrial policy and economic intervention, including the $6.3 billion Housing Australia Future Fund and the $7.2 billion National Reconstruction Fund.

@TruthFairy131 How much of the NBN will be dug up if that **** is implemented?

  • naturewins2023 transparency (@naturewins2023) reported

@RizviAbul And the NBN sucks. It is ridiculously expensive for low to average speeds. It’s a huge chunk of people’s monthly budgets just to stay connected.
