@TonyHWindsor @gdgoz Am a comms tech, anyone with any knowledge of the existing copper network immediately knew what a disaster this was going to be once Abbot claimed it was in perfectly good condition. NBN management also utterly incompetent. No longer work in the industry as a consequence

@Optus got to love for paying unlimited internet, got new NbN cables outside but can't use the ******* internet because drop outs. ******* pathetic also you're home page sucks arse because when you go to report an outage the URL to that part of the website doesn't work

@Telstra Have tried this, our address doesn’t even come up as an available address. have been paying for and using nbn thru telstra for the past 2.5 yrs at this address so this is no help and Telstra said it should switch to 4g if there’s a fault - hasn’t happened. no solution fromTelstra

@Optus I am on hour four trying to get my new NBN service set up and working. The systems your cust reps are struggling with are obvs terrible. How are you going to retain customers like this after the big data breach? Why would we stay?

@samstrades Author appears to be claiming Singapore is not west of the NT project.. but Sydney is? A lot seems wrong here Simply would have been like the NBN - gone over budget, get bad yield, eventually write down assets. Plus too many extra risks like cable down-time

I’m also skeptical of proposals to build a public network. We don’t need more infrastructure when it already exists, and Australia’s NBN shows what happens when you set out to build a public network, then a right-wing government gets elected and purposefully messes with it.
