This Google Stadia thing looks cool. Probably won’t be great in Australia until 5G is here. That said, they recon they only need min 15mb down; max 40ms latency and max 5% packet loss. Many NBN connections smash that. But if it’s widely adopted, congestion will cause issues.

@Optus And I have spoken to nbnco themselves and they have confirmed that you are flat out lying to me. The times available depend on the provider NOT the nbn. Further proving how bad the customer service at Optus has been.

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I was getting faster speeds on the Optus cable network 15 years ago. NBN means slower and more expensive service in my area.

@Optus has the worst customer service ever. I tried to organise nbn through their online chat and they flat out lied to me in order to get my business.

So @Telstra booked an appointment for an NBN technician to come to my home and fix the issue. The @NBN_Australia person came at the appointed time, did something at the NBN box and concluded that the issue is resolved. It wasn't. The internet started dropping off again.

@fifail Mate you can’t seem to catch a break! apart from internet crap (and yes, the adsl/nbn doodads are two separately run…things. ADSL providers can cut the lines with no requirement to ensure nbn set up. So dumb) but aside from that, hope new place is at least more secure!

@NBN_Australia scheduled maintenance from 7.30am-4 pm for up to 4 weekdays makes working from home challenging. Even more so when usually good 4G coverage coincidentally drops to less than 1 bar. Working from a park in search of more bars not the solution I hoped for!

@MacsInSpace See this blows my mind at a school like Essendon they would be well serviced by NBN. 1gbps symmetric service on nbn is available ~$600 w/ $0 build on 3 year contracts. I’ve got 500:500mbps 1:1 contention with a aapt reseller on helstra wholesale infrastructure for under $800 pcm.

So not only have we not had home internet for 2 weeks, we've been constantly stuffed around by Telstra. NBN techs claimed we needed a new modem and there was a delay on that. On top of this the portable wifi modem we were given is now broken and we had to pay for that as well!
