@NBN_Australia service is down in Lane Cove NSW despite the outage website saying it is up. What’s the process to fix it?

  • ELCA_Brett Brett Flower (@ELCA_Brett) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia , I've waited for your allotted window of 8am to 12. Midday for a technician to arrive. Is this poor customer service to be expected EVERY time someone is supposed to fix our 3rd rate internet service? Only been 2 years so far...

  • lyng62 Lyn (@lyng62) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NLC081 @Optus @NBN_Australia 9th of June it started Lots of Development in the street Someone must have cut something. We were down for a week NBN came out finally and got it back but ever since my next door neighbour get my phone calls on his bill Took us about 6 weeks to even get someone to believe us

  • robertmbarnes Robert Barnes CAE 🇵🇬🇦🇺 (@robertmbarnes) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus still no nbn connection in Jannali. How many times you expect us to turn off and on the modem?! I’ll have 2/30 days worth of my monthly fee back thanks. Can’t work when you can’t provide the service. I’m done with you. #finalstraw

  • MarkBilton Mark Bilton (@MarkBilton) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus @nbn down in Turramurra. 4G working. Been out for over 1 hour. No message from @optus to customers. Work from here with international clients and rely on consistent internet access. Almost like a third world country. We have to do better. Imagine the productivity losses!

  • kmichie13 Michie Lab (@kmichie13) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia Just a bit of communication would be helpful to know we are even on the list of problems?

  • lyng62 Lyn (@lyng62) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

9 weeks. @Optus @NBN_Australia still haven’t sorted out the problem. To try as a solution they terminated out accounts - me and next door - so we’ve been down all day. Oh ....NBN can’t come until tomorrow. The incompetence is stunning

  • fridley James Fridley (@fridley) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Telstra still as useless as ever. Been trying to connect to the NBN since 2019 in a Sydney CBD office, and they cancel any new NBN order without even bothering to contact us.... O_o

  • patdevery125 Pat Devery (@patdevery125) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

LNP Plans to date: Failed NBN, Failed Murray/Darling, Sports Rorts, Carpark Rorts, Leppington Triangle Rort, Aged Care, Quarantine, Vaccine Procurement, and the doozy - Net zero “as soon as possible”. Now? “Follow the National plan!” LNP: Planning To Fail #insiders

  • patdevery125 Pat Devery (@patdevery125) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

LNP: planned MurrayDarling - FAIL, planned NBN - FAIL, planned quarantine - FAIL, planned vaccine acquisition - FAIL, dragged kicking and screaming to JobKeeper. Trust them on climate change? #insiders #kickthismobout

    @Telstra My nbn not working

  • matthewjonespga Matthew Jones (@matthewjonespga) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Telstra if my NBN is down why isn’t my 4g backup working? Have re booted, blue lights on??

  • cbiggins Christian two jab 💉💉 (@cbiggins) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Haha @optus tech asking if we can use our backup 4g because they deleted our NBN service. Nope. No Optus mobile coverage here. It's like a bad dream.

  • cbiggins Christian two jab 💉💉 (@cbiggins) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Apparently @Optus has "deleted" (their words) my NBN connection. I have to wait 48hrs for their stuff up. Considering I've started moving my 5 phone services to @Telstra I think my NBN will be next. Been with Optus for sooo many years but lately wow it's been bad.

  • eljosho1102 Josh Maddison (@eljosho1102) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@PipThomas @PressStartAU Similar thoughts from me, I’m impressed with how well it does run on my 10 MB/sec FTTC NBN connection and given it is a beta service I can definitely agree the input lag is something that will need to be accepted for now until it is tweaked a bit to run better on the NBN

  • Thought_Patrol Thought Patrol (@Thought_Patrol) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus @nbn down in Turramurra. 4G working. Been out for over 1 hour. No message from @optus to customers. Work from here with international clients and rely on consistent internet access. Almost like a third world country. We have to do better. Imagine the productivity losses!

  • TonyThefathippy Tony Thefathippy (@TonyThefathippy) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Hey, @NBN_Australia, your customer service is appalling. Perhaps you should contact customers *before* cancelling home visits. Don't leave it to the ISP. Rather than telling the ISP there's nothing wrong with a service that has never run properly and that we start again.../cont

  • mysticmel3 melinda salterod (@mysticmel3) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@MrKRudd @AnnastaciaMP You are such an armchair critic, you failed in so many ways you are not in a position to criticise others, pink batts, nbn, the boats ffs, explain your actions on these issues and I swear I will never criticise you again

  • hogesonline Amanda Hogan (@hogesonline) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

From @Optus : NBN will be down all day Thursday. You'll be cool hotspotting from your phone right? #remotelearning

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • mitchul_hope Mitchul Hope (@mitchul_hope) reported

@notsomadboy @ryanjchr Should it not be the responsibility of the landlord to pay it? I would consider that the same type of utility charge as a landlord paying to fix elec~/plumbing. Hardly fair that a tenant has to pay a one off fee so that everyone else who ever rents that house can get the NBN.

  • khylil7 khylil (@khylil7) reported

@NBN_Australia @macpunc @markhumphries This fee should be sent to the home owner the way water utilities are sent to the home owner. Pretty poor effort NBN!

  • julie_library 💖Breast Cancer Warrior 💪 Julie Library (@julie_library) reported

@markhumphries That sucks. 🤨 I would have thought the owner/builder would of added the nbn connection as part of the build.

  • georbear AusValues (@georbear) reported

@marauderlil90 @markhumphries Yes, it's a terrible market for renters. There are huge shortages of rental properties. These issues are much bigger and more important than a $300 NBN connection.

  • allicat76 Allicat 🇦🇺😷 (@allicat76) reported

@markhumphries interesting, I had NBN connected late 2022. never paid a cent.

  • AbsentmindedAus 💧Evelyn Scott (@AbsentmindedAus) reported

@OffBeatMammal @markhumphries Our NBN connection was so bad that we went back to broadband. Home broadband working much better. Sad but true. That might be an option rather than expensive NBN connection fee.

  • civilengineer civilengineer (@civilengineer) reported

@secomb_michael Agreed. He was also, when it mattered, very soft and liable to bend to the will of others. The most public example: NBN, but there were a stream of issues where the mob held sway over its "leader". A disappointment.

  • _SocialDemocrat Leftwing Bastard (@_SocialDemocrat) reported

@markhumphries Its never cost me a cent to get NBN installed.

  • berniebern Bee (@berniebern) reported

@MattHenley14 @markhumphries Yes. The customer never owns the service. It’s a fee for the right to connect a new customer and generate revenue at that premises. I’m addition to the CVC which the RSP pays nbn

  • Buftie9 Sean Wootton (@Buftie9) reported

@vaughantobewild @markhumphries @NBN_Australia Why? ‘Someone wants to charge someone $300 to install the service into their home, but the owner doesn’t want to pay it?’ Better go to the ombudsman.
