  • jaihohyd Chowkidar batman (@jaihohyd) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Dodo NBN broadband is down in westmead. Have been trying to raise complaint but customer service never picks up calls. Have been on line for hr. Pls help @DodoAustralia

  • debkasmar Deb Kasmar (@debkasmar) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia Yes I know it has been awful. The odd thing is as soon as they fixed the traffic lights at the end of the street everything came back on - strange

  • manaz_d Robert Hudson (@manaz_d) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@mavetju @NickRossTech @Aussie_BB Yep, if it was an NBN issue, the VPN wouldn't help, as both the VPN and the direct download both traverse the same last-mile (FTTN/FTTC/FTTP/HFC) and use the provider's external facing bandwidth. This problem is likely at the source.

  • debkasmar Deb Kasmar (@debkasmar) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia That’s the problem no one knows anything 😡

  • JonoHerrman Jonathan Herrman (@JonoHerrman) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@GladysB @Asher_Wolf @NSWSES Can’t... power down since Sun. @Telstra black hole and 3G/4G booster (their solution that cost ~$2k!) therefore out... modem also dead so @NBN_Australia doesn’t work (no #Internet). #VoIP phone dead. Looking at a diesel generator... middle of #Sydney’s #NorthShore 🙁

  • bunny_09 Jules (@bunny_09) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@TPG_Telecom NBN issues in Ryde, but not listed as current outage on website: what’s going on

  • piersg የጎቿዪነ ኗዐዐዕዘቿሠ (@piersg) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@optus NBN seems down in 2044, and 4G is pretty slow (and yr status page is slower still)

  • arafattehsin Arafat Tehsin (@arafattehsin) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@TPG_Telecom What a standard (low) level response is this. I had a long chat with your support engineer who has no idea what could go wrong therefore, he raised a complain for NBN and other teams (which he did not tell me about) @NBN_Australia

  • arafattehsin Arafat Tehsin (@arafattehsin) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia Thanks Alex for the pointers. I've already reached out to them on at least 3 different mediums. Still waiting for their response. Such a pathetic service.

  • arafattehsin Arafat Tehsin (@arafattehsin) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia Yes my provider @TPG_Telecom is never responding on the phones so we are still helpless without any clue of when is it going to get resolved.

  • c_j_schweitzer Christian Schweitzer (@c_j_schweitzer) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Hey @iiNet as a new customer to your #NBN service, I think it's not unreasonable for you to have solved the broken connection that I'm experiencing, now into its 3rd day.

  • steveathon Steve King (@steveathon) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia Thanks Brian. As it happens the @Telstra rep blamed nbnco for the additional fees. It's all feels like a bit of a terrible joke to be honest, but thanks for replying.

  • jasonberry Jason Berry (@jasonberry) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Outage for @Telstra cable internet (non-nbn) in Lindfield NSW since Jan 30, and it’s not listed on the service status site so I went through all of the troubleshooting and phoned up where they told me there’s a huge outage that won’t be fixed until Feb 3. Waste of time that was.

  • steveathon Steve King (@steveathon) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

So I am being forced on to the @NBN_Australia infrastructure and @Telstra is attempting to "uprgade" my service to a more expensive, slower, less feature rich service.

  • SimoneC84186958 Simone ♀️🏳️‍🌈 (@SimoneC84186958) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Absolutely our NBN is a waste of taxpayers money, we well everyone I've spoken to just around NSW is fed up with such poor quality. And business are suffering for it, I help a friend a few days and her NBN is frustrating on her business slow waste of time.🙄👎

  • mikeaubrey2 🇦🇺mikeaubrey🏳️‍🌈 (@mikeaubrey2) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@ShaughnessyMat You should be celebrating......took us 107days to connect to existing connection, speed at best half of what we are paying for, continually "drops out" & have to reboot either NBN or Telstra Gen2 modem, 2-3 times a day. When system down no homeline, & grossly overcharging HGIT 💩

  • IaenCordell Iaen Cordell (@IaenCordell) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@MichaelSmyth_ @NBN_Australia I wish I could get points for NBN scam calls! Already two this afternoon! When I tell them I am happy for them to disconnect the service they hang up, only to call again several hours later.

  • DarthMadV Darth MadV 🧛🏻‍♂️ (@DarthMadV) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@xzRich_ Our NBN only improved our upload speeds in trade off for DL speeds. Anyway just threaten to change companies if they don’t match the bill to what you think it’s worth or what annother companies offering and they’ll make u an better offer if they wanna keep you as a customer.

  • DarthMadV Darth MadV 🧛🏻‍♂️ (@DarthMadV) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@xzRich_ It’s so stupid because NBN is supposed to be cheaper AND faster but it isn’t and it pisses me off. We get ripped off in au for below average internet.

  • alicia94985048 Alicia McIntyre (@alicia94985048) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@DaveVescio Nbn is crap in Australia!

  • rodrigoelp Rod (@rodrigoelp) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@TPG_Telecom Definitely not working. The NBN router has the flashing red light for link. Unfortunately I don’t have a way to log into this modem as I didn’t receive a configuration for it. Very tempted to just request my configuration from you and debug it myself

  • midii Ken Moore (@midii) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@jendudley Poor progress is the last place I lived. Brand new building. Cable terminates in power pole outside the building. No phone lines available for adsl. They managed to free up 4-5 lines for 40+ units. 2 years later still no cable or nbn despite building next door having it.

  • midii Ken Moore (@midii) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@jendudley Say goodbye to that. We went from 100mbps cable to 2-3mbps adsl to 50mbps nbn and paid the same for each service. Extra for the adsl cause had to tether to my mobile to actually use the internet.

  • Failingtorevers AnT (@Failingtorevers) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Your life can be ruined in seconds **** you NBN you took my stable wifi connection away from me , now my internet is ******* shit

  • arafattehsin Arafat Tehsin (@arafattehsin) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

I am super surprised to experience the quality of broadband in (or around) Sydney -- it still gets disconnected at least 5 times a week. @NBN_Australia and @TPG_Telecom, I'd highly recommend you both to get a better management because it sucks and it really does.

  • Failingtorevers AnT (@Failingtorevers) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

My house got forced to switch to NBN and FFS the Internet cuts out every 20 mins and we are at half the ******* download speed What the actual **** have you done , do you know how frustrating this is

  • AndNowItsTime Michael Bassett (@AndNowItsTime) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

    @marklevy2gb, @NBN_Australia’s website is down...not helping I still confidence! #nbn #techfail

  • Angry_AB_ AB (@Angry_AB_) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia Well.. all NBN have done since November is waste my time.. apparently im not important enough to speak to any manager in your “customer service team” (that’s what Angie from that team told me anyway..). I’ll DM you anyway.. should be fun..

  • matthew_dotco Matthew Roberts (@matthew_dotco) reported from Mona Vale, State of New South Wales

@Optus - my nbn service is horrendous. It just won’t work. Dropouts that go on for hours #useless #nbn

  • TurnbullDavidR David Turnbull (@TurnbullDavidR) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Update. Only partially installed. Seems NBN didn’t connect from outside our development into the development. Delayed until March. Dreadful service and shoddy Project Mgt. Also had to pay additional $16000 for cabling!!. @NBN_Australia #nbn

  • theorangepeach Adam (aka trash panda) (@theorangepeach) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@mrgnarchr When they can build 5G, sell ‘unlimited’ at the same price as over NBN, but difference is they keep all the $$$ (and don’t have to pay a stupid cut to NBN), why wouldn’t to push it as an alternative that they actually make money from. NBN really ****** things

  • theorangepeach Adam (aka trash panda) (@theorangepeach) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@mrgnarchr Meh, if the govt wasn’t hellbent on trying to make a profit out of the NBN and actually run it as a utility, we probably wouldn’t see 5G being pushed so hard (stupid NBN CVC pricing)

  • bfgleb PaulieB (@bfgleb) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus I'm on my third day + of 0.20-0.25 mbps on my NBN at home - lodged an online complaint and tried contacting by online chat. Can someone please get in touch in the am.

  • mikeaubrey2 🇦🇺mikeaubrey🏳️‍🌈 (@mikeaubrey2) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@slpng_giants_oz @knarfnamduh Try 2 NBN NBN going to be one big costly taxpayers fix...ATFD Free our Refugees Send Dutton to The Hague Smash IPA & have them pay tax, not a charity a business

  • vijayarumugam Vijay Arumugam (@vijayarumugam) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Hi Optus @Optus - Your NBN seems to be down in 2146 for the last 30 minutes or so. #optusoutage #optus #nbnoutage

  • VMCByrne Veronica Byrne (@VMCByrne) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@TurnbullMalcolm we don’t need you to tell us the “news”, we all have access to current affairs...alas not via NBN - which happens to be a very expensive piece of crap.

  • ChrisRobbo01 Chris Robertson (@ChrisRobbo01) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

So pre NBN no drop outs at all. Post NBN ever bloody day. WTF. @Telstra sort your shit out.

  • Taylorville29 Neil Taylor (@Taylorville29) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@TPG_Telecom @NBN_Australia any danger of my issues being resolved before Xmas or shud I just jump on eBay and invest in a dial up modem #pisspoor

  • manaz_d Robert Hudson (@manaz_d) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@jendudley @Telstra I am a mega geek too. I generally notice bad network performance. I really hate buffering in particular. My wife complained about the NBN being slow the other day, then realised she wasn't on Wi-Fi and it was actually the Telstra 4G service having issues.

  • selmainthecity SelmaTraceySergent (@selmainthecity) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

What a joke. My NBN is always down. Morrison is so out of touch.

  • triedtostayaway Andrew (@triedtostayaway) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@superloopnet is there an nbn outage in Carlingford my nbn dropped out, ive rebooted my router several time without luck

  • bennie919 Trevor Romer (@bennie919) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Remind me.... this is the 21st Century & we supposedly have a mostly fibre internet network @NBN_Australia. So why is it that the slightest wind & I lose connection @Optus I've lost count of how many times our internet has gone down this evening.

  • foadfadaghi Foad Fadaghi (@foadfadaghi) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

4K wars - Optus to show the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in 4K Ultra HD to its 5G Home customers - meanwhile Foxtel has the only broadcast 4K satellite service in AU. Wonder if nbn or Telstra will join the 4K battles! 📺 #Telsyte

  • Ms_Callie_B Callie 🐝 🌻 (@Ms_Callie_B) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@JasonMorrisonAU @NBN_Australia Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. We are going backwards at a rate of knots. And @NBN_Australia & @Telstra do not care the punishment they are doling out to individuals & businesses due to their incompetence & inability to provide a reliable service.

  • AnthS4ba S4BA (@AnthS4ba) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia currently can’t connect to the internet for no ****** reason except that there are random ****** outages in Sydney. Internet will connect for few minutes and then off it goes again. Thanks @NBN_Australia you worthless piece of shit.

  • DeborahKent10 Deborah Kent (@DeborahKent10) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

    @JBSFinancialJB @NBN_Australia @Telstra sure was looked like I had a mailware problem 🙄

  • DeborahKent10 Deborah Kent (@DeborahKent10) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia @Telstra Gr8 work shut down my WiFi with scare mess on my screen 2 force me 2 switch to NBN #shockingtactics no internet 😡

  • Jock500 Keith Stewart (@Jock500) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@telstra your outage page showing an outage of the NBN in postcode 2087. Cant get any info on how long it’s expected to be down. Have tried all your websites etc. do you have any idea

  • fridley James Fridley (@fridley) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

So now if I want to connect the $380 device we were sold to fix the poorly working backup connection while we wait for the poorly ordered NBN location move to be completely cancelled before it can be re-ordered correctly, I need to buy another sim card for $80/mth to make it work

  • AUSFestivus It's dogs all the way down (@AUSFestivus) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@GordyPls The concept of over provisioning a service to account for header and encaps overhead isn’t new and has been a standard WAN product factor since before NBN was born. NBN chose to do this solely because they don’t exist to satisfy consumer sentiment. 🙄

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
  • dawnstarau Dawnstar Australis (@dawnstarau) reported

@NBN_Australia As much as I appreciate the unsolicited suggestion: a) last time we tried that it turn into a quagmire of inaction because nobody knows who the connection belongs to b) I don't exactly trust nbnco's ticket handling ability to not disconnect the wrong service

  • ryanbigg Ryan Bigg (@ryanbigg) reported

It’s raining and that means my NBN is down.

  • MarxistCrypto 🚀The Crypto Marxist ⚡ (@MarxistCrypto) reported

@AlexSaundersAU Comrade, the mismanagement of the economy, including bullshit subsidies for the fossil fuel industry (and sportsrorts, and the Murray Darling, and the NBN, and, and) has **** all to do with people not buying over priced, depreciating objects like cars, of any brand.

  • letswreakhavoc riley (@letswreakhavoc) reported

wifi lights are great. until your ******** australian internet dies for the second time in a month cause the @NBN_Australia is a piece of shit and you have to unplug them all to sleep, and then go through the arduous process of setting them up again when they finally fix it

  • me3episodes Alenya (@me3episodes) reported

Heya crew <3 Still ironing out some bandwidth issues. I really, really, really, really wish NBN had stuck to their plan for our area. We were meant to get NBN early 2018. Now there is exactly ZERO plan for NBN. There are two estates a minutes walk from us with NBN. Feels bad.

  • tony_chatham Tony Chatham (@tony_chatham) reported

@SandiHLogan @Telstra @Telstra_news @optus would seem to be the same. No NBN for a week, left hand/right hand nonsense from @optus. They call each morning, allow mobile to ring once and then send a text saying they tried to call me and leave voicemails that require an interpreter service. 😡

  • nicjarvis nicjarvis (@nicjarvis) reported

@TPG_Telecom @davekirk I waited on the phone tonight for 41 minutes to discuss no internet in Rose Bay NSW - then they hung up. I sent an email no reply - I rang again and waited 25 minutes- same treatment- the worst NBN supplier ever

  • ravann 🇦🇺stayarmystarlight (@ravann) reported

Is there a current outage in Bayswater North 3153 that isn't showing up, because our nbn is not connecting

  • MrNoknes Noknes (@MrNoknes) reported

@Punkkrr @Telstra yea. back in the day i had so many problems with telstra like u having right now like they kept charging my mum shit she didn't buy and we use to have net issues before we had nbn but my mum kept Karening them and for the past year we have been chilling.

  • LJPatton Laurie Patton is The Lucky General (@LJPatton) reported

@hughriminton @TurnbullMalcolm Answers. 1. The telcos are looking for ways to outmanoeuvre the dud copper wire #NBN network which delivers far slower broadband than #5G. 2. As happened with Pay TV 25 years ago, the telcos will cherry-pick the most profitable locations and those easiest to cover.
