@ZachWeiner Part of the other side of the issue was that once the NBN came into your area, the original phone lines shut down, so you had to get an NBN plan. A lot of telcos shoved people onto a 12 Mbps plan, which was never designed for internet use, only as a phone line

@sparkiegaz If any of them had, we would be in a far better position than we are in now Instead we have a destroyed NBN, no climate action and someone literally ***** in parliament When will they see themselves as the "bad guys"?

  • zerogeewhiz Peter Anderson (@zerogeewhiz) reported

NBN is down and the status page is down. I know they’re unrelated but wowee that’s unhelpful.

@sqljohn Hi John, we are sorry to hear that you're having issues with the equipment. This is not the experience we want for you. nbn is aware of reports of lightning impacting the operation of some components of Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) network equipment. 1/4

  • NBN_Australia nbn™ Australia (@NBN_Australia) reported

@sqljohn testing and trials taking place. nbn is actively working on process improvements to respond to these lightning events and working with suppliers to restore customer services as quickly as possible. If you experience any difficulties due to lightning strikes, 3/4

@NBN_Australia In our neighbourhood in Yarragon Vic, we're over 1200 metres from a node and speeds are terrible. Can something be done about it please?

@NBN_Australia Thanks but your website is unacceptably uninformative. An unscheduled outage for my address. I knew that. Not even a map to show me if I can visit my local library to work. My ISP says I can’t.

  • NBN_Australia nbn™ Australia (@NBN_Australia) reported

@sqljohn by unplugging all connections to the nbn™ network connection device (NCD) including power, telephone cable and Ethernet cable to the home / Wi-Fi gateway for the duration of the storm. This will result in the loss of service until the NCD is re-connected. 2/3

@RandaltsRandal If only it could be on what you achieved - what policy materially improved Aust. Did you build a fibre NBN, NDIS, Gonski? No we let Covid rage, did nothing, protected banks, sold off fake water for personal gain, let bushfires rage. Don't hold a hose. Impoverished the poor more.

  • Shleeable Shlee+ (@Shleeable) reported

@brinlyau @Optus I apparently need to wait months for my NBN. Experience so far, Optus at my place (or Sydney in general) is damn slow. Telstra is "good enough". but Optus has 500GB and Telstra has 200GB. so I'm running both... I've got all of my random stuff on optus and my laptop on telstra.
