@ZachWeiner Part of the other side of the issue was that once the NBN came into your area, the original phone lines shut down, so you had to get an NBN plan. A lot of telcos shoved people onto a 12 Mbps plan, which was never designed for internet use, only as a phone line

Is Twitter broken, broken-ish? Couldn't load it initially. Can't open lots of places. Various excuses being offered. DNS server? Maybe the "NBN" is flooded, or the copper wire is saturated, or the whole thing's submerged in Victoria.

The NBN doesn't work without power while ADSL did if you had a generator or an old rotary phone you could still use the internet or make calls. Now if the power goes out for days like it is in parts of Victoria (we are on day 3 of no power and cell networks where out for 2 days.)

@BazzaCC **** I feel old. I remember when it was definitely black & white, & in the Upper Hunter we only had 2 channels. NBN 3 & ABC 5, for fastidious fact checkers
