@cookiemunsta @Kynes3 @MrMatlock12 @JoanBloggs @PostLamont @QandA @insightSBS It's because ADSL (old) and VDSL (nbn) are incompatible and they have to slow down both during the 18 month change over period to prevent them wiping out each other. This govt willfully took this action and killed fibre to the premises which is excellent and causes no such issue.

FFS, how dishonest (or maybe stupid) can a candidate be. To claim on one hand Labor did nothing for Tas jobs 5 seconds after saying they wasted money on the #NBN. @kevinmorgantas

@deniseshrivell Tas got first NBN then Libs got in. They let Turnbull get away with lie and wreck it. They canned the digital hubs program, Medicare Locals, and dumped community providers of disability support services in favour of larger private operators cashing in.

@bigbadave @mavetju @BLShiv @NickRossTech Exactly, and the original NBN was going to solve their problems, be it on domestic level of service or business. I was paying $65 a month while neighbouring businesses were paying T $200 month. They could not use eftpos & phone at same time. I could do both + stream radio & TV

@andrew_blow @wendy_harmer @MikeCarlton01 @sarahgerathy Senate estimates covers a lot of the boring mundane stuff that affects everyone. The problem is that some hearings are timed to avoid much journalistic scrutiny (NBN used to be on late at night, routinely) or there is so much happening at same time that some issues get neglected.

@markhumphries I thought nbn was an essential service, like as a phone line was. As a result the landlord HAS to pay connect, just like first water and power connection. However if you provider charges a fee to move home/new service then out of luck there.

@NBN_Australia Do you really think I haven't done this already? Things that don't help my connection: 1. FTTN terminates at the node, which is 1.4km from my house. 2. Copper wire from the node to the home is over 20 years old. 3. There are no firm plans to upgrade the connection to my house.

Does anyone else pay for @optus NBN and @OptusSport and get kicked off every 3 minutes you are trying to watch EPL. Then everytime you refresh you have to watch those god awful Ashley Martin hair growth ads over and over again?

@BarryDa79113466 @markhumphries @DichieraDomenic If the property was previously connected to the NBN (or previously had a phone service) you don't pay the fee. It's only the lucky first person who pays. The old CAN (phone network) had the same fee for the first phone line to a house. Starlink is more expensive too

@MossScarlett3 just got a message from Telstra to say my nbn is down until 27 January (and it’s already been a few days). Dusting of the old Dvd’s. Save a few just in case!

@markhumphries That sucks. 🤨 I would have thought the own/builder would of added the nbn connection as part of build.

@markhumphries The NBN is like an onion that has been sitting on your counter too long. You peel it and it looks great, then you cut it open and notice that the inside has started growing out and the whole damn thing is useless and needs to be binned. **** our government for screwing it up.

@markhumphries G'day Mark. We stopped our @NBN_Australia connection because it was so crap. Now using a dongle with Tel connection ( best in our area) and we can use the data at home or on the move. Best thing we ever did and actually cheaper than our previous plans.

@markhumphries TBH, although I think they delivered a terrible service for the install. at my house, I was happy to only pay $300 for the « actual » connection of my house. (work on the street, weatherproof boxes on the house, etc.). The overall process must have cost NBN more than $300.

@Ozesurfer @markhumphries @Kerrthing Have you seen the setup up and equipment fees for starlink? They have a special on right now for $450 it's usually over $900 and the service is $139/m. Makes the NBN and install look cheap sadly so it's not really an option for most. P.S Last I checked Starlink isn't gigabit
