  • manjulawi Manjula Wi (@manjulawi) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@TPG_Telecom I gave you a moving order on 13/10 and asked to connect my NBN by 29/10. Today I came to the house and realized that I don't have Internet yet. What kind of customer service is this?

  • Dlanorx Ron Nelly’s son 👀 🦘➡️🇦🇺 (@Dlanorx) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Looking at the Government NBN announcement. Always look for what’s Not said, not what’s said. What will the customer connection/reconnection cost and will the customer pay for it

  • czaxx Ben (@czaxx) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Hey @NBN_Australia - a 2 day outage with no ETA is pretty pathetic. But then considering it is by design from the Abbott-Trumble regime that the #NBN is so crap, it's a bit hard to blame you.. #auspol

  • EFCcorrespond The Correspondent🔴⚫ (@EFCcorrespond) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@DanSilkstone @nbn All fine re speed on std optus nbn plan in Thornbury, just a few drop punts from @SquidInkRock ! Only issue has been monthly failures, which never happened whilst on Optus cable for 10+ years 😳🙄

  • ppossej Michael Jessopp (@ppossej) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@franksting I've noticed that my family's data usage has halved since we got a reliable NBN service

  • DaveMesas David Mesas (@DaveMesas) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia I have to wait until next Wednesday to get a new NBN box cause the last tenant kept it. I am paying a service, not enjoying it and missing important meetings and projects because my job depends on it. Could you send a technician earlier please? @BelongAU #nbnfail

  • yungbillydavis Billy Davis (@yungbillydavis) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@cartisano_ @NBN_Australia I supposedly have another outage with @Optus tomorrow coming up zzz

  • alwriting Alan J Wright (@alwriting) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Every time our neighborhood receives substantial rainfall our totally inadequate copper calamity aka NBN goes on the fritz. This afternoon it has intermittently dropped out, frozen and generally delivered a totally sub par service.

  • pamelacurr Pamela Curr (@pamelacurr) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

As NBN resuscitated- let’s not forget the 240 men dumped on Christmas Island with no access to phone internet to contact family and lawyers- 4 slow decrepit computers per 60 men is not 2020 communications

  • OyNAISA Naisa Lasalosi (@OyNAISA) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia is there an outage in Melbourne??

  • matt_j_parker Matt Parker (@matt_j_parker) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@iiNet I had to literally turn on to my phone plan to post this message. I have upward of 15 iinet/nbn people come our to ‘attempt’ to fix our connection which falls out 10 hours per day min. So we have no internet. Still paying @iinet monthly. Can someone help this disaster. Please.

  • alwriting Alan J Wright (@alwriting) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@theprojecttv @theprojecttv something of a powderpuff examination of the Federal Govt's massive backflip on NBN. Little surprise Malcolm Turnbull batted away any hint of criticism. So many households were dudded by this debacle. Inferior, poor quality delivery. It's no joke.

  • marc_cscott 𝗗𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰 𝗖-𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 (PhD) 📺🎬🖥 (@marc_cscott) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia Yes have spoken more than 5 times. Coming to the house they say it’s fine, but appears to be 1 of the 2 wifi signals the router provides only gives very low speeds. The other is fine, but small distance. I’ll look at a different provider than @foxtel. Appalling customer support.

  • bakerdavid David Baker (@bakerdavid) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

    6. 80% of phone order was disclaimers about a landline, which I did not have, want or need. 7. Process to connect to @Telstra NBN was good. 8. It now drops out constantly. Corralled into raising service faults via live chat and SMS has resulted in 4 service tickets, no action.

  • dand25 Daniel Michael (@dand25) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@MichaelAckland3 what do you actually do in your position? @andy_penn I have been ripped off from business centre to business centre, I haven’t had proper working service for over 12 weeks, PD Monga had nbn installed within 3 days of contacting your office, Do something!!!!

  • visibleprocrast Visible Procrastinations (@visibleprocrast) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Rather hectic as Telstra took down our NBN at midnight and the three screens became one 😟

  • nchuah FairGo (@nchuah) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@DaveSharma Not as bad as copper wires for nbn broadband courtesy of Turnbull. Btw nothing wrong with manufacturing trains in Australia .

  • VitoCDoria Vito Doria (@VitoCDoria) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus The internet signal is very poor and it has been since last night. When using the NBN in Reservoir, the speeds are very slow or the internet might even drop out at times. Your website says that there are some problems in my area but it has been 12 hours.

  • DaveMesas David Mesas (@DaveMesas) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@BelongAU Sure, but it’s definitely not an option wait for 9 days to have my internet connection ready again, don't you think so? @NBN_Australia hope you can send someone asap plz. This is frustrating guys and harder during #melbournelockdown. I'll send a formal complaint @acccgovau

  • ianfarrow 𝐈𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 😷⛷🇦🇺🦘イアン ファロー (@ianfarrow) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

I quite enjoy those calls offering to fix my NBN service. I usually ask them if they are religious and if so, how they reconcile their faith with stealing. Today I told the caller how happy I was that I don't have to go home every night and outline how my day was spent stealing.

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • TheRealPembo Michael Pemberton (@TheRealPembo) reported

@frosty_morgan @markhumphries The fee is from the wholesaler (NBN). It is only applicable if the premise has not had an active service in the past. This is often due to someone cancelling the phoneline prior to NBN rollout and nobody connected NBN.

  • SpallieraL Looch (@SpallieraL) reported

@markhumphries Getting NBN connected is free. The cost is getting your internet service provider connected. Are you sure you are asking for the right thing. All homes were supplied an NBN box connected to the landline in the home. Does the rental property have a landline connection in the house

  • clownius12 Leslie Gossner (@clownius12) reported

@Ozesurfer @markhumphries @Kerrthing Have you seen the setup up and equipment fees for starlink? They have a special on right now for $450 it's usually over $900 and the service is $139/m. Makes the NBN and install look cheap sadly so it's not really an option for most. P.S Last I checked Starlink isn't gigabit

  • tappo66 bradT (@tappo66) reported

@markhumphries Moved to a new house with NBN a year or so ago…nothing but problems…wireless broadband is a much better idea…

  • Robs_au Robert S. (@Robs_au) reported

@frosty_morgan @markhumphries The only thing that comes to mind - some appartments have various non-NBN systems that developers cashed in on during the slow rollout, or TPG has quite a lot of its own FTTB systems in buildings that were near its fibre network.

  • jonfrancisjones Lord Jon (@jonfrancisjones) reported

@NBN_Australia Do you really think I haven't done this already? Things that don't help my connection: 1. FTTN terminates at the node, which is 1.4km from my house. 2. Copper wire from the node to the home is over 20 years old. 3. There are no firm plans to upgrade the connection to my house.

  • GabertPhilippe Philippe (@GabertPhilippe) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@markhumphries TBH, although I think they delivered a terrible service for the install. at my house, I was happy to only pay $300 for the « actual » connection of my house. (work on the street, weatherproof boxes on the house, etc.). The overall process must have cost NBN more than $300.

  • dbmgreen David (@dbmgreen) reported

@BeeMo16 @markhumphries @markhumphries Mark, just enforce your rights and ask for a phone service to be supplied. Obviously nowadays that requires an NBN connection. Once supplied, you can convert to DataConnection no fee.

  • hodgavic Steve Hodgson (@hodgavic) reported

@ReidParker_ @markhumphries Yeah, you’re right it’s a **** situation. They don’t miss in new developments either. they charge $600/lot & they don’t pay for the pits or pipes in the development, just the cable, so purchasers pay in the end to construct NBN’s infrastructure & then get charged to connect.

  • SirBarkos Brett Barker (@SirBarkos) reported

@NBN_Australia How about you just provide a decent service.
