@Scott_John @TaodeHaas First applied for NBN in March. After many false starts, broken appointments, interruptions, countless phone calls complaints , the whole show, it was finally connected in late April. It drops out at least once a day. It’s a nuisance I didn’t want, but had to have.

@adriancantrill @Aussie_BB Especially considering how many people I've personally encouraged to join ABB exclusively because of the quality of their service. NBN is NBN, it hardly matters who you buy it through; the distinguishing factor was, and is, service.

@ELCA_Brett @Ballyurra @slsandpet I am on NBN via Fixed Effing Wireless. Dropouts are now less frequent, as are congested slow periods. But I still keep a 4G Wi-Fi device at my elbow & switch to it when things get rough. It is far better than banging heads with fools at NBN, Optus & the Ombudsman.

However, connectivity is the name of the game, and Starlink's superior service poses a real threat. NBN Co needs Gov help to secure growing number of rural Aussies tired of waiting for fibre-to-the-premise construction. Starlink's full commercial arrival in 18 months (4/4)

@Ballyurra They’re all pretty average. But to be honest the issue is primarily the NBN. Your isp can’t overcome technology that is decades old.

@Ballyurra Frayed Knot, it's not your router or ISP - it's the "budget version" scaled back NBN (another LNP f*ck-over) that's the problem, and a reboot with the same protocol won't fix the problem.

With house in Tokyo recently upgraded to 2Gbit service I'm reminded by our network dropouts, during Christmas break, that hybrid cable modems was our bollocks technological rollout of choice for an Aussie NBN service.
