🇦🇺Ross (@RossStewart14) reported from Canberra, ACT@Floatdownriver I get this call roughly every second day. It is a computer generated voice and it's a #SCAM .I've had NBN for about 2 years. Just hang up.

Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, ACT@peter_c_william @RichardTuffin @NBN_Australia Project Management failure at all levels. Including piss poor contractor management. You could have the best tools available (aka Engineers) and still use them incorrectly...#nbn
-
Wade (@VK1MIC) reported from Canberra, ACTNBN BATTERY PROTIP unless you actually have a wired phone they do not offer anything and you can take the battery out - you just open the box. Grab the terminals and slide them off - and they never beep again! Every place we have been in with NBN has had its battery tossed.
-
Clark Greenaway🇦🇺 (@ClarkGreenaway) reported from Canberra, ACT@StevensAsh @DavidSo24895212 Yes Labor did say $41b to build their gold plated NBN. Of course they never built it so we don't know how much it really would have cost. The LNP version was cheaper yet has cost a lot more. I'm certain if Labor had built their version it would have been over $100B.
-
BlackStar (@ThylacinusC) reported from Canberra, ACTSo the technician temporarily fixed our NBN today. He said it was the modem (it wasn't as I used my other modem and it was the same issue). Now the internet is down again. Why are we paying so much for faulty, unreliable internet? #Telstra #nbn
-
Clark Greenaway🇦🇺 (@ClarkGreenaway) reported from Canberra, ACT@Angela60650391 @juliemonry @ABCaustralia With NBN there isn't even that need anymore. I have been receiving gov updates via my mobile phone provider not the ABC at all. All commercial broadcasters ate required to provide community service announcements. Their is no longer a need for the ABC.
-
HG (@hgo7627) reported from Canberra, ACT@JmarrMarr Apparently we now can — by engaging @NBN_Australia to provide fibre to the home. Because of my crap service I got a quote. Sadly, I won’t get my crap service improved — quote was more than $5k.
-
Cherelle Murphy (@cherellemurpfry) reported from Canberra, ACTNBN capacity lifted to help those who can work from home to do so.
-
Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, ACTHFC is a black hole - you can't model a national communications network off what a commerical entity has done overseas #nbn There objective is to keep it above water.
-
Gaz 🖖 (@garydlum) reported from Canberra, ACT@benny_132 @horrorfan4129 @Telstra Thanks. I've been waiting on hold. I will hang up and get on with my day. I feel sorry for people relying on #nbn for their livelihood when these things happen.

RepublicanRoz #SaveOurABC💧 (@AussieRoz) reported from Canberra, ACT@JaneCaro @NBN_Australia Just send a tweet about The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman NBN suddenly played nice. So did my provider. I got my own support person!!

-
Clark Greenaway🇦🇺 (@ClarkGreenaway) reported from Canberra, ACT@toadmeister @guardian Sorry Toby, you are being mislead by the Guardian as usual. Netflix states you need 5Mbs for HD quality viewing. Every Australian on the NBN has at least 10Mbs connection. The ALP stated the NBN would cost $40 billion dollars not $15 and it was never going to happen for that.
-
Ian (@Ian__P) reported from Canberra, ACT@ajamesbragg @AlboMP I'd raise the issue of #NBN advertising which seems wasteful and pointless given they aren't retailing to consumers directly.
-
Bernadette Carbin (@BeCarbin) reported from Canberra, ACT@AusIndiMedia Your NBN couldn’t be that slow could it??
-

Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, ACT@peter_c_william @NickRossTech Wonder if he actually engages with the key stakeholders - ie The Australian Public! #nbn So over @NBN_Australia pathetic excuses and covering for the poor decisions of the last 7 years. No wonder many jumped ship when the cards were on the table
-
Technorants (@Technorants) reported from Canberra, ACT@czuio @NBN_Australia @Deborah_ONeill I could see no reason why it couldn't for exactly the point you make. You could also simplify it and include a UNI-V like port for a voice service (VoDSL) and a simple diagnostic page to indicate line sync etc. @NBN_Australia need to consolidate the end point to simplify it
-
Christian Lindsay (@DesignLindsay) reported from Canberra, ACT@NBN_Australia I rely on the internet for my design business The lack of reliable service puts my income and ability to service customers at risk I'd appreciate a plan to fix the issue. One obvious step is to relocate to a closer pit
NBN Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
Craig Phillips (@cuffs1971) reported@whereisaaron @robb_j_m @NBN_Australia That doesn't work with infrastructure. This only works in a production line environment where the fixed costs are spread over a higher volume produced. Infrastructure increase as the demand goes up. More people more lines, more nodes more exchanges, more costs. Its not fixed.
-
𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒆𝒍 𝑺𝒄𝒐𝒕𝒕 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒘𝒔 🇦🇺 (@DanielSMatthews) reported@eevblog I have both, NBN service stability is far less than Starlink's, so it is my backup. I could probably push traffic through both, did that with Telstra and Optus cable modems back in the day, but Starlink is so fast I haven't needed to bother.
-
ADAMan 🧫🧠 (@hoskyidiots) reported@craigkellyAFEE @Sauronlordking Free internet would be cheaper than FTA TV FTA TV (FY2025-26) Total estimated annual government expenditure/support on all FTA TV A$1.64 billion NBN Financial year 2025, ended 30 June 2025), NBN Co’s total operating expenses were approximately A$1.6 billion.
-
Mark Fermor (@MFurball) reported@Michz45 And you seem to think giving the government more money will actually benefit those services. Why do you think the gov does not get involved in baking bread? Because it would taste **** and cost $100 per loaf. That's your Medicare, NDIS and nbn to name a few
-
rompa82 (@rompastompa82) reported@colonelhogans Where were you when Murdoch donates to the major parties to buy things that help him.. look at the nbn fiasco ended up costing Australians billions but they did as he wished..
-
Mr Happy (@JohnSmi63567221) reported@MrKRudd Like Rudds NBN $60,000,000,000 and counting cost to tax payers plus 70-90 monthly cost to use. Starlink ZERO cost to tax payers, get it anywhere, pay between 40 and 70 a month. No one wants to hear your ideas. **** off
-
John Cas (@moresunshine_1) reported@news_australian He was an idiot. And we are till paying for his stupidity in f-ing up the NBN.
-
Majyqman (@Majyqman42) reported@larrikinstreak @robb_j_m The ISP pays a significant portion of the price of a service to NBN. I don’t know where you pulled your **** from to think it was free, but perhaps go fling it somewhere else.
-
melb rider (@melbriderx) reportedresorting to personal hotspotting on my mac and iPad cause apparently nbn speeds in suburban melbourne are just that slow atm
-
Heilagt 🇦🇺 (@scrdeclxpse) reported@ruicharadrius Getting my NBN done and paying $99 a month for 62mb internet, just to have one of my overseas mates talk about his internet of 150mb being slow so he switched to gigabit. Absolute ****** travesty, shameful is what it is.
