Finally back on line! NBN Cable breaks... who was responsible for using this tacky cable??? A nice young chap had to fix up 3 line breaks two of them a couple of hundred metres away. Thank goodness for the people who work hard to keep it all on track! ✅👏👏

@NewtonMark @Rhys_Needham @maximum_sincere this is correct. NBN delivers a L2 tunnel between the customer and the RSP. your IP address(es) are from the RSP. some use CGNAT, some don't. some give IPv4 and v6, some only v4.

@johnb78 True but our 2nd rate NBN will continue to incur large costs due to the poor state of the copper network. A network Telstra happily sold for a motza.

@NBN_Australia As far as I know yes. However, given that other people across NSW lost service last night I would not assume it is "maintenance" and would prefer honesty thanks.

@VernVerass Verner, it's worse than that. The NBN was just an attempt to renationalise that part of Telstra that should never have been sold in the first place - Alston bears utlimate responsibility for our rubbish broadband in Australia.

@Adrisis83 Thanks for reaching out, Adrian! Nothing widespread was reported. Have you tried restarting both the modem and NBN Network Connection Device? Turn them off for a minute, turn them back on, wait for the lights to settle then see if you'll be able to connect again. -John
