Graham Smith (@GrahamSmith111) reported from Brisbane, QueenslandI am no fan of the NBN but the further investment of $3.5 billion defies logic. 5G is coming with very quick download speeds and cable infrastructure. It’s pouring good money after bad. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

-
Jon Cartwright (@badgergloveppt) reported from Brisbane, Queensland@SanatanaMishra I never wanted a landline, but for years I had to have one to get ADSL. There were no naked ADSL options in our suburb. Ditched it the moment I got NBN. Only my mother in law and robocalls ever used it tbh.
-
Clifford Stewart (@Protenpinner) reported from Brisbane, QueenslandHonest to god NBN in Australia is piss poor for gaming. I shouldn't have to wait till it's midnight and off peak to get a decent connection without my game glitching to bits. Absolute ******* joke. #FIFA23
-
David (@singaporedavid1) reported from Brisbane, QueenslandWhy is the NBN so rubbish in Australia. One more outage and I’m cancelling and moving across to Starlink. jagdtigger (@panzer_VI) reported@eevblog If that is the mobile plan you bought, TBH it was to be expected. Every NBN customer in that same are is looking for an easy temporary solution......
-
Cdbrown (@BrowntownBrew) reported@DWybar2 @robb_j_m @Optus Change providers. Aussie broadband were great in pin pointing the issue, providing all the info to nbn to prove there was an issue and getting it fixed.
-
anthony, underclass prole cat, edwards (@anthony45052793) reported@robb_j_m abandoned nbn fixed wireless service, so many outages, so many years paying for speeds they could not deliver, local shop could not run eftpos over it, even on a business plan. i'm on starlink now, stable, fast and only $9 a month more than nbn for 4 times the speed.
-
The Noisy Elephant (@TheNoisyTrunk) reported@Goyoubays @bob_parto You are such an uninformed ****** that we'd bet you support One Nation, you dim cooker. The original NBN planned and started by Labor was FTP all the way and was NEVER going to be funded by the telcos, you idiot bath scum ring. The Libs ****** it by changing it with their "Technology Agnostic" prayer using a cobbled together FTN. Go back to bed and fiddle with yourself like you were before you posted your dimwitted, uneducated reply. Take tissues. ******* idiot.

Lucas | 🇦🇺 (@TheBlackWallaby) reported@australian Even Tesla is made in China, so what is the actual issue here? This was sent from my Mac Mini, made in China, sitting on a desk made in China, connected to the NBN through a Wi-Fi gateway made in China, typed from my Logitech keyboard, made in China, while I sit in an office chair made in China, looking at a Samsung monitor made in, checks notes, Vietnam. At some point the argument has to get more precise than “China bad.” If the concern is connected vehicles, telemetry, firmware access, data storage, or fleet security for MPs, then make that argument properly and apply it consistently across all networked devices. But pretending Chinese EVs are uniquely suspicious while half the modern office supply chain is already Chinese-made is not analysis. My iPhone (made in China) is connected to my Apple Auto - driving me around tracking me on a GPS map, with a microphone that works, and the Head Unit (made in China) Where does it end?
-
msau (@msignau) reported@robb_j_m This of course ended up driving the total cost of the NBN through the roof as they had to take on copper lines that had not been maintained properly for over a decade & assemble a franken-network copper, fibre & HFC networks that had massive maintenance costs.
-
Terry Corby (@TerryCorby57986) reported@DaveMcG67 @Ausbobsmit @lauren_vasiliou Like Snowy 2 you mean started by LNP at a cost of $2B now estimated at $42B an LNP project or the NBN which cost us $110B more under Abbott& Turnbull for a far inferior service.Neither the right or left r great project managers.
-
Green Tree (@TreeGreen2933) reported@robb_j_m I got nothing, NBN has killed all the independent providers that serves my community. I now get about 10mbps max through the mobile network if lucky.
-
mastodon.au/@macropin (@macropin) reported@eevblog NBN don't have the equipment necessary to maintain their own network. More consultants will fix the problem.

Ezzeddine | عزالدين (@ezzh_) reported@m1nhaxo Paying $120 a month for 750 mbps but we’ve been only getting 150-300 on a good day because of this garbage nbn And they won’t send us a new modem we’ve had this one for 10 years now through 5 different houses
