Jays (@Jays200) reported from Westfield, Western Australia@EVTimOZ Perhaps yours is not the best analogy. I have a sub rate FTTN @NBN_Australia service and I don't get a discount for having 480 vids instead of 4K. On the other hand, I'd happily accept financial compensation for changing my energy usage patterns a.k.a demand response.

Allan Byrne (@albyrne) reported from Westfield, Western Australia@Optus nbn down in 6028… has been for hours and judging by other tweets it’s the same in postcodes near me. I have checked your outages page and you claim no service issues in the area, which is clearly incorrect. An update please !

Tony Ilian (@tonytau101) reported from Westfield, Western Australia@MSMWatchdog2013 Only in Australia do we announce we’re rolling out a national network, then we **** if up with fibre to the node, HFC & the bollocks of fixed wireless and satellite - to now find out that the Aust taxpayer is on hook for $40b. Plus we’re now rebuilding it with FTTP. TI #NBN
-
Patricia Rutherford (@TrishKurralinga) reported from Westfield, Western Australia@MeckeringBoy One of #Abbott #Turnbull's monumental stuff-ups. They should be personally held liable for #NBN disaster. Any #Telstra technician could have told them (& probably did) a lot of the copper was stuffed & no-one to fix it. #Lnp wreckers. #FibreToNodeFraud @TaodeHaas @billshortenmp

-
Peter Davidson 🇦🇺 (@petedavo_au) reported from Westfield, Western Australia@NewtonMark I'd wager that the Telstra Gen 2 smart modem is probably the direct cause of network congestion. Nice touch though to hide NBN disconnections with a fallover to 4G
-
The Weather Ferret (@2017Ferret) reported from Westfield, Western AustraliaPlease note everyone the NBN is down. So no internet. Will sort it out this morning. Tweeted this message from my phone.

Russell Drysdale :#IStandWithAlbo (@Russputin2) reported@Richard01357064 If only the deposed LNP Crime Org had not nobbled Labors' worlds best, full Fibre NBN (with iron age copper), you'd know that the LNP Crime Orgs' decade of debt & devastation, was over 4 yrs ago. The war is long over soldier. By the way, the Beetles have broken up too.👋🙏
-
Russell Drysdale :#IStandWithAlbo (@Russputin2) reported@FinancialReview If only Rupert hadn't nobbled Labors' Full Fibre NBN, you'd know that it was the deposed LNP Crime Org, that closed down fuel refining & storage in Australia.
-
Raymond McKeown (@RaymondKeown3) reported@Kate3015 We Also built TPG & Vodafone's networks, however, my point was really Albanese raced up to Singapore begging for oil, Optus is owned by the Singapore Govt. They will not be pleased. And for the record, we built the very first NBN site at Kiama, I met several times with Conroy, he is a fool. We walked away, I said let everyone else beg for this, we will pick up all their other business while they are ******* with NBN, Conroy had no idea of the concept of Fibre, nor did his management, they were all Guys I had worked with at Sun Microsystems, not one had ever built a network. Conroy went against advice & lost $800 million on a Satellite project, the Indonesians grabbed the flight space.
-
Mark's Daddy (@DeZuidermaan) reported@DrewPavlou Australia's internet is **** because Tony Abbott deliberately sabotaged the NBN by making it fibre to the node. Rupert Murdoch was worried that streaming services would eat into his pay TV profits, so he had all his news orgs back Abbott. They even announced it at Fox Studios.
-
Terry Corby (@TerryCorby57986) reported@DaveMcG67 @Ausbobsmit @lauren_vasiliou Like Snowy 2 you mean started by LNP at a cost of $2B now estimated at $42B an LNP project or the NBN which cost us $110B more under Abbott& Turnbull for a far inferior service.Neither the right or left r great project managers.
-
Max (@diss_presso) reported@BrowntownBrew @robb_j_m But real world demand was lower as no zoom or Netflix. But anyway - it’s moot. The government could buy every Australian household a starlink dish (2.5x faster than NBN) for <$6B - and we’re still not finished, having spent 10x that. The doomed NBN had the absurdist aim of connecting every sleepy country town with top shelf fibre whilst legally enforcing slow internet in our metropolitan centres (the only places where fibre is even economically viable). This is exactly what the libs predicted at the time and were ridiculed for it. How about just connect the high population centres (you know, the ones who actually need the internet for their livelihoods) and let rural people move to the city if they want 1gbps, and then later spent a few billion buying the rest starlink if we really wanted to continue pissing money up the wall (or just letting them buy it themselves, with their own money, if they really wanted it). You aren’t angry enough.
-
Dr Andrew Meyenn (not MD) (@19yma19) reported@TimWilsonMP Lets think: ICAC??, No cuts to ABC/SBS, NBN faster cheaper?? You lot are up to ears in it. The broken promise is at best 25% as it only applies to new builds and you can take the old idea too. Get off the BS cigar mate
-
Scarab (@ScarabOfficial) reported@THATS_RIGHT_YA @robb_j_m That download ping is faulty. Should be more like 20. Could be your computer, NIC, browser, or modem/router (and its settings). If you are with TPG you can log into your account and do an NBN test, which will check the line, and they'll contact you if there's a problem.
-
Never vote LNP. (@LNPvoterfail) reported@derf17k LNP would have destroyed my Super given half a chance. As with NBN, NDIS, the car industry, refineries, environment.... Just **** right off @der17k
-
Tze-wei Chong 🇦🇺🧢 (@Tze_C) reported@GeoffWilsonWAM @theAZtrader @ausgov Fully agree. Other than new property development which should still be benefit for housing supply. Poor structural reform that will impact future generations and brain drain Australia. Funding via NDIS / NBN restructure would have been far easier and more beneficial
