@FreoLou @MatthewPassmor8 @FreoPope It's likely that your Internet is delivered over copper (FTTN) or possibly HFC. FTTN - depends how far the premises is from node. Has the problems with poor instalations, pits letting water leak in etc NBN HFC - uses higher frequencies than Telstra = dropouts. TI

@AdamBandt @DiMunnings It’s not just mining, in 2019 the following companies paid 0% tax: NBN Co Ltd Stockland Corp Mirvac Lion Pty Ltd Chevron IBM Aust Ford Au Transurban Holdings GM Holden News Aust Pty Ltd ... and did so legally. Gov needs to stop bitching & fix the system that allows it!

It should have been 90% investment into wireless connectivity, then we wouldn't have wasted billions on useless costly infrastructure. My 5G wireless craps all over NBN speeds. @JennaPrice Could we have left the NBN up to private enterprise? Government used to do quite a bit of infrastructure. While I believe government should not be in business, we have had some horrible outcomes of outsourcing to the rest the world to build our govt stuff that hadto be remediated

@NBN_Australia I just don't know what to do anymore... I've had an NBN technician visit my property twice, and exhaust all physical aspects to resolve severe speed issues (HFC). I've already relayed this to my ISP but even they can't tell me when the issue will be resolved. Help!

@bruce_haigh I used to have the exact same problem. Get used to it, it won't be fixed, techies won't inspect pits when it's raining. Although, it did work out after 3 years. NBN broke the cable/pit and it all got fixed.... Eventually

@BelongAU Hello, I did check that NBN site last night and there was no outage reported. The service did return on it's own around 9pm. I got a email back from Belong support this morning to say that it was a "service update" which caused the outage.

@hula_grl The space junk thing is a worry but the Starlink satellite service has so far been a lifesaver to us in regional VIC. The NBN satellite service got worse and worse and worse over recent years and ended up practically useless for us.

I live in a granny flat, and I've just successfully connected to the main house's network using ethernet over power (I've been on mobile internet - they're on wireless NBN) Download speed jumped 10x (and my mobile's not even shaped atm) I'm gonna STREAM ALL THE THINGS!!

@Malk_AU @NBN_Australia 1/2 Also just as an aside, the NBN status lights give a good idea is the issue is before or after the router. 1st light being power, 2ndbeing if reverse power is supplied to the pit, 3rd being dsl sync, 4th being connection to the router. so if at least the first 3 are not lit
