Dan Barrett (@TheDanBarrett) reported@beeso No, the complaint was about the double dipping. But these are two different deals, with at least one of them standard business practice. Should people be appalled at Foxtel getting grants to broadcast sports behind a pay wall? Certainly. But the ABC has to film games somehow.

Just seems odd the govt provides a grant to foxtel to show womens sport and also pays foxtel to show matildas on the ABC. Probably is a govt funding issue of the ABC.

Instead taxpayer money went to Foxtel to produce the content and then the ABC used taxpayer to buy the broadcast from Foxtel. Taxpayers paid twice. That is the double dip.
