@rPrequelMemes Wait, srsly... Commercials? Every movie service has ads now. Remember when VHS tapes were ad-free, and when DVD rentals were ad-free, and when digital TV was ad-free, and when foxtel (or similar) services were ad-free and when pirating was ad-free.

With too many options now, sports have the potential to lose fans due to accessibility issues. The new Dexter season is now on paramount after I watched all the previous seasons on Foxtel. Still haven’t watched it

@RationalPies The only difference would be that all the AFL Foxtel/Channel 7 staff would switch to 10/Paramount+ otherwise they're jobless. And, clearly, A-league was purchased just to do some practise and piss-around, treat it like a toy before they go for the big stuff.

Like with Cricket Australia, the AFL will use Network Ten as the patsy to sharpen the Murdoch pencil. Foxtel/Kayo is not a viable product sans footy in the cord cut era. News will pay meggggga bucks

@Mattys123 Football Australia don’t really care tbh they don’t operate the Aleague anymore. CBS owns a stake in the Aleague now. Paramount bid for the EPL but lost. Building their network of sports like Foxtel did and subscribers which is the main metric.

@TByrne75 Man, when I tried to cancel Foxtel a couple of years ago, it went smooth as. I figured they had had a lot of practise at it by then, and had finally gotten good at it.

@Foxtel I've been a customer since 2009 and am on hold with you for 10+ minutes trying to cancel my subscription. Why don't you allow customers to cancel online? You certainly allow us to add packages and spend more money online! Dodgy tactics!

@AnthonyDepaoli @JakeNiallTHEAGE @AFL No. Foxtel is essentially also a streaming service. Paramount would hold the rights in this scenario and games would be shown there and not on foxtel, as per the article.
