@ImTheRealSlayer @AlboMP Thank you for this. After a concerted effort by the townsfolk (and much pressure from Kristy McBain's Office), Telstra have advised that they have "fixed the problem" that has existed for many years, by installing a generator to keep the service going. It worked yesterday.

@redruby17 @kathy_skidmore1 @Optus I use Aldi - they have an automatic recharge on their prepay so it functions like a plan, use Telstra lines so great regional /rural coverage, unlimited calls/texts and data plans that you can choose from to set your price. Ive never run out and am on the $25/month plan.

For those who’ve been having phone issues of late, it’s NOT your handset that’s the problem. I discovered yesterday that Telstra has already switched off approx 70% of the 3G phone network! Making matters worse, TELSTRA is experiencing significant issues with 4G VoLTE.

@justanotheramy @Telstra TELSTRA’s solution to the problem they created, is to sell those affected a new handset.

@realDrBrendan @DanielAndrewsMP Well maybe in your lala land, but here in the West when the power company was a public asset it was cheaper power, better service etc, It started to go pear shaped when it got privatised, like Telstra and every other public asset that has been sold off around the country

@Telstra We called. They said we’d been called twice already. They actually left a note on the case yesterday of what number of ours they should call. I got my phone to work for a couple minutes and your “expert” was calling the phone with the fault that has no service. So doesn’t work.

@PRGuy17 We’ve seen time and time again the damage done by privatisation - just take the recent privacy breaches from Optus and Telstra as an example. So it’s most definitely a yes from me!
