💧Daren Connor 🇦🇺 (@connor_daren) reported@Telstra you send me messages to say the network is having issues & use wifi calling but if the network is having issues which affects my devices then how the hell do I use wifi calling when there’s no network? How long will this be going on? This is the 4th day of these messages

💧Daren Connor 🇦🇺 (@connor_daren) reportedWith all the massive profits that @Telstra are making, it’s about time they use some to improve their network coverage in areas other than big cities. Rural & regional areas all seem to share the one tower. Some even have to drive a kilometre to get service for a call.

Lucy the Red (@LucytheRed1) reported@DHughesy You clearly don’t realize the Future Fund was: 1) primarily seeded by the sale of Telstra 2) Set up to fund existing government liabilities I’ll dumb it down for you. The Howard government sold our assets to fund existing liabilities. Embarrassed for you (again)

Jacqui 🇦🇺🌴🌺🌴🌸 (@jaxsunsurf) reported@Gizmologist_ Funny how telco’s never had this problem before wouldn’t surprise me if Telstra orchestrated Optus outage to knock them out of the market like Qantas did to Rex blocking airports We’ve had polair lately at night doing thermal mapping of the area fly round almost 2hrs each time

GainsMax (@GainsMax168031) reported@SkullSpeedDeal A family member of mine over a decade ago ran a Telstra phone store, it became top 3 in the entire state because of his leadership. Anyway, something happened, and he told me the 2nd in charge (Indian) backstabbed him and took over the main position. A year later, the store had hired a lot of Indians and ended up being the worst store in the state lol

Rust (@rusinc_) reported@Mr_Fanta_Pants I’ll wait for my kogan sim to run out and switch to a provider with the Telstra network
-
techAU (@techAU) reportedCheers, I certainly am interested in this. Definitely not normal to see Tesla software updates (multiple GBs) pushed over the cellular network. Am sure there must be some arrangement between Tesla and Telstra to minimise this, particularly with the volume of cars in the country now.

Eryn (@payneerynn) reported@optus_help They have my number and details but the connectivity issues are ongoing and horrendous right now. Connected for short periods and not atleast 20 drop outs today alone. It's annoying. I dont want compensation AGAIN i just want the service I'm paying for. I think that's fair. It’s annoying we were without service for 7 days of total blackout to upgrade the tower and a month or so later massive issues. It's not good enough. Having said that annoyed as i am i will still remain a loyal customer because overall i have found you are by far better than Telstra!

Brent Hodgson (@BrentHodgson) reported@geofiasco @DHughesy @aaronsmith Aside: Whether the Telstra sale was ultimately a windfall is contested. It raised $60bn to sell the assets, then we spent $60bn on NBN Co just to regain access to the assets sold and duplicate/upgrade the network we sold - and Telstra has paid something like $80-85bn in shareholder dividends along the way. In many respects, NBN shouldn't exist. It should have been the $80-85bn in "shareholder dividends" to the Public Owner that paid for the fibres to be laid - not a $60bn investment after a $60bn sale. But NBN was forced to be created after a now-shareholder-owned Telstra responded to how it might build a national broadband network with a non-compliant 12 page letter effectively saying "we won't - the copper wires are our privately-owned monopoly and we want to protect our market monopoly".

anthony, underclass prole cat, edwards (@anthony45052793) reported@MichaelRuyg i had to get starlink service for power outages to maintain some ability to contact emergency services if needed. i have backup power. mad not to in a bushfire and flood prone area, sadly nbn co, optus, vodafone and telstra are clearly incompetent.
