    Telstra is a PRIVATE CORPORATION not a govt institutuon. LNP with Hanson (Ind) in 1997.. partial sale & 2006 with PHON support.. FULL sale! That’s why it’s NOT a good idea to PRIVATISE VITAL INDUSTRIES (communications banks etc)! Labor STILL dealing with/fixing LNP/PHON MESS!

    @TerenceMcCart14 The government wanted the payphone network preserved for safety reasons, Telstra didn't want to pay to repair damage caused by people breaking open payphones to get coins. Free payphones were the beautiful result.

    @MikeCarlton01 @Telstra Hmmm well they are descended from the Post Master General in 1975 when they became Telecom, then privatised in 2006 and became Telstra. They haven't really screwed up since that time. Customer service may be abyssmal but the national framework has operated well in a big country.

    @TruthdriverOn Seriously this is the fault of privatisation.. Telstra when privatizing promised that no services would be affected and that triple Zero would be a priority.. Telstra earns billions and they can't provide the one service we need LNP sold Telstra so it's their fault

    @adaptive_ape Indeed. Stop & think about it. What did Telstra think would happen if they ignored multiple warnings, failed to mitigate the risk & it resulted in a huge national outage? Fat bonuses for cost shifting the risk onto the rest of us??? Wtf was the decision making here? #auspol

    @Telstra I’m currently overseas and I asked my account manager to convert my sim to eSIM. They sent me a QR code that I loaded days ago but it’s not working and the physical sim is still working. I need to free up the physical sim slot for a local sim

    @10NewsAU Poor excuse @Telstra ... It splashed over msm how can she be unaware? Does it look it she couldn't be bother picking her mobile phone and switched off?? If so, retire her and she'll have plenty of time take holidays!!! She's a in responsible role for heaven sake!!!
