After 9 hrs of no phone, and numerous thoughts of “if I google *this* it might help then a “damnit no service so no google” it took exactly 8 min in @Telstra at Castletown this morning to have a new SIM activated & now I’m all good! They were great and so quick and easy!

@FINALLEVEL Oh weird you're getting rid of them? In Australia, Telstra made ours free to use, and installed public wifi in them. Rather then remove them, they now just help people when they might be stuck.

@milankakabaros @LFC_Australia I moved from Telstra to Optus a few years back and have had a much better experience. More then halved my phone bill, reliable service and much easier to contact. Apart from the dodgy twitter account they've been head and shoulders above

@WUTangKids Here in Australia our service provider Telstra made all their phone booths (pay phones) nationally free to use for all national calls. International calls are at the users costs but all others are free.

@JPLloyd91 @CrankiF @TelstraEnt Or the metre-long antenna bolted to a three metre tall pole just to have twitch lag out every few minutes. But we gave up on Telstra anyway because they were too expensive when the competition's service isn't any worse.

Is anyone able to explain the lack of proper phone signal in #launceston cbd the last couple of days? Appears to be a ring around the city where 5G drops out and only 3G/4G is available 😬 #telstra #Tasmania

@JarrodKent I've got the Kayo app running on Chromecast Google TV, ever had an issue with it freezing or pixelating. The smart TV app is not so good. It doesnt buffer, but pixelates from time to time. Telstra NBN 100.

i would simply switch providers to one that charged me less for better service but alas telstra is the only one that covers the truly rural round here
