Credit where credit’s due.. less than a week after I tweeted @Telstra on behalf of my Dad, they’ve contacted him, fixed the situation & agreed to refund the hundreds of dollars he’s been left out of pocket. Shouldn’t happen to anyone.. but I appreciate the quick resolution!

  • carolduncan Carol Duncan (@carolduncan) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Telstra Years ago but I’ll do it again. Meanwhile, my 83yo father has no mobile phone contact and no landline as his home was destroyed. This is a rather urgent issue.

  • VerityJaneLeach Verity Leach (@VerityJaneLeach) reported

@Telstra Hi there, unfortunately after 10 years of good service from Telstra I’ve decided to move on. Just confirming if there are any fees involved in porting my number over to Optus. Would stay with Telstra if a bone was thrown but called earlier & they were happy to see me go.

@Optus I’ve just transferred from @Telstra and your coverage on brand new IPhone 11 Pro is just as rubbish. 3G and 1 bar. Seriously WTF.

  • That_Dan_Guy Dan (@That_Dan_Guy) reported

@TheDanBarrett @JoeArruzza @WenleiMa @newscomauHQ With both Telstra and Fetch being OEM hardware they need to get permission from the company behind the units before any apps can be released. As Roku already have a app ready to go it should be easy to add it. Fetch on the other hand has no app and their app development is slow.

  • That_Dan_Guy Dan (@That_Dan_Guy) reported

@JoeArruzza @WenleiMa @newscomauHQ @TheDanBarrett The issue with the Telstra TV, even though it is a Roku box, is it is locked down with custom software that is not from Roku. It could take months for the app to come to the box. Same goes with Fetch TV, and it's closed app development.

  • TheDanBarrett Dan Barrett (@TheDanBarrett) reported

@JoeArruzza @WenleiMa @newscomauHQ Telstra TV is a locked down version of US hardware Roku, which does have a Disney+ app that was built for it. This means that the reason is either because: 1) Telstra haven't struck a business deal with Disney to put the app on its box. OR... [1/2]
