  @Butterlegs_ Ye that’s why I got it tbh, thinking if I ever do my regional trips I’ll cop a basic Telstra just in case and 5 years later well lol. That said I think they’ve expanded their network bc I was down in new norcia and a few other ruralish places and my cover never dropped so perhaps

  Telstra CEO Vicki Brady has returned to Australia after cutting short an overseas trip to address the company’s nationwide outage. Brady apologised, saying Telstra “let Australians down”, after revealing she was unreachable for hours because the network disruption affected the company’s own phones.

  @SaraJade_13 An apology isn’t enough there should be some accountability for this behaviour. The SA police said today her reporting of the death could have been linked to the Telstra outage had “put an unnecessary strain” on the woman’s family.

  Telstra outage: The widespread effect of this outage continues to unfold. Even freight trains around the country came to a standstill. It seems that 'too many eggs in one basket' applies here. It showed that in the event of hostilities Aust. could apparently be easy to cripple.

  @adaptive_ape But this outage is so much wider than safety (eg. triple zero). This failure has impacted on & exposed the lack of resilience of so many other economic systems seemingly hopelessly dependent on modern communications infrastructure working 100% of the time. #auspol #Telstra

  @winty1976 @blowingtom2 @Kerrynne_Liddle It's odds on that many Telstra executives face serious questions about the outage. People 'test driving' or other 000 emergency system indiscretions will inevitably attract scrutiny during this period.

  What is pissing me off with the Media & this Telstra outage is, they are screeching for everyone to say sorry Guess what, sorry, does not fix & resolve the issues that caused the outage! However the media are not asking Telstra, what happened? why did it happen? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ENSURE IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN!

  Why is it the USA can communicate with a space ship circulating the moon but Australia has such a hard job communicating with a ******* train just around the corner.. Because of this useless waste of space Anita Wells…. WHY is Australia STILL relying on just a single network for the train networks and 000 and a host of so many essential infrastructure ?? WHY hasn’t our government, especially after the Optus outages just changed the laws to the filthy rich telecommunications companies that they have to combine both networks together for things of major importance to the running of the country ?? 000 and train networks. You want a communications licence… fix the bloody thing so at least BOTH Telstra and Optus are both responsible for the safety of Australia and every Australian.. @AngusTaylorMP @PaulineHansonOz

  @MikeCarlton01 @Telstra Look at the bright side. Now you know the Y2K bug was NOT a scam. Can you imagine what would have happened if Telstra didn’t take action to prevent the Y2K meltdown. This was a midrange server issue. If the Telstra mainframe systems go down it could have been a lot worse.
