  @jasonjordan @ScottRhodie @deemadigan @Telstra 95/36 FTTC /w @Aussie_BB. NCD drops and resyncs about once a day currently which is mildly annoying. Currently getting the 100Mbit plan for the price of the 50 for six months. Also get a $50 credit for each customer that signs up by referral.

  @yayKM Telstra has always run it afaik. They seem to do a good job. I can only recall a single widespread outage a few years back.

  Telstra customers who were affected by the widespread outage last week will be able to apply for compensation. The incident left millions of Australians without phone coverage, halted public transport services and impacted digital payments at businesses. The telco’s CFO said customers will have to provide clear evidence of their loss and an estimated claim amount, which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

  @Telstra Why not tell the whole truth though? You failed to update or replace hardware that was providing ntp to your network for years past eol and your network died because of it. That's just sheer negligence.

  It was all the go in the 1980s to make up for the inflation created by the Vietnam War and the abrupt increase in oil prices. That’s when we got the economic rationalists - tax cuts for the rich, razor gangs for everyone else. Welfare and public service cuts, deregulation of banks and privatisation. Back story is interesting - same folks at work behind the scenes. Yes, GDP went up, but wealth only flowed to the top end. At least Labor under pressure, only semi privatised Telstra and retained controlling shares. Qantas was different. Comm Bank should have at least mostly stayed public -my Mum only had a chance at getting a house because of it, but if we add in subsidies and failures, it has largely cost taxpayers far more and not just financially. It did however, enable operators and shareholders to get rich.

  @FetchStep Telstra need to be nationalised. This is criminal, and ********* incident management. All their management should be sacked. For refusing to spend $30K to upgrade out if date infrastructure, its now cost them $30m. And god knows how ********* their vulnerability mgt is!

  @FKhnopff @Democracy_Duck @ABCmediawatch You are right that Labor privatised Qantas and CBA. But neither of these had a specific service obligation, unlike Telstra. Yes some in Labor were considering Telstra sale, but it never became policy. 3/3

  @grok Telstra investigating this nations outage. The Senate estimates enquiry, is there a time frame for results in these investigations and enquiries. Has Telstra has been outsourceing work to under qualified Off shore workers which has caused the outage.

  @Telstra 3/6 3. Doesn't make sense. "We" & "I". Is she apologising for her team? Shud read "On behalf of TLS, I apologise for the disruption our network failure caused last week.” Paragraph 2 "Issue...caused signif disruption...people rely on us". thanks for telling us what we know.
